This unique place is located right near Golden Gate Park with adequate parking limited to 30 minutes. So eat fast. Haha no the food here needs to be savored. There is a nice selection off the main menu for Happy Hour 4-6pm. Providing an opportunity to sample one or more of the menu items as an appetizer. I chose the mussels with garlic bread, as good ones are not found easily. The portion was quite ample, and the sauce I dipped my nice crunchy garlic bread in was very flavorful, warm and delicious. I also tried the plantains which were cooked perfectly; not too mushy with a perfect char, and the sweet onions on top were also tasty. Paired with a very tangy dipping sauce. All the flavors came together well. My husband ordered the Cantina burger which he enjoyed down to the last bite. Our daughter also sampled off the smaller menu with Lomo Empanadas and the Chicharron de Pollo which she reported were both very nicely prepared. Will, our server gave us excellent recommendations which we availed ourselves of. The bill for 4 items plus the burger, a side of rice, and a ginger beer came to just under seventy dollars, which was a reasonable price. I would definitely give the food five stars, and the restaurant four as it's a long and lengthy bar with a few tables for two. The majority of the seating is in the back with two flat screens and an open kitchen. I can imagine how loud this place can get. We went at the perfect time: not a lot of customers so we received excellent individualized service from Will. Craved Peruvian Food for dinner. Been here for brunch, first time for dinner. Started with the Yuquitas a la Huancaina - garlicky yucca and love the huancaina. The food and service here were great. Apparently the owner of Fresca owns this place. Our server Giovanni was awesome. He was so personable and very accommodating. The manager was also very nice. We were there for Happy hour (4-6pm Wed-Sun) so we ordered directly from the happy hour menu. We ordered the garlic fries, cantina burger, ceviche Clasico, mussels, chicharron de pollo, and margaritas. (We actually ordered almost double of everything cuz it was so good. LOL.) Everything was delicious. My favorites were the chicharron de pollo, garlic fries, and ceviche. Chicharron de pollo were lightly battered chicken thighs but still crunchy and so flavorful. It reminded me of bigger pieces of the Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Can't go wrong with these garlic fries. And the I appreciated the large chunks of ceviche. It tasted very fresh. Loved my margaritas. We all wanted different levels of sweetness and Giovanni did an excellent job communicating to the bartender who happened to be the manager what we each wanted. I have been meaning to stop by here ever since they opened up. Well I finally got the chance. A bright restaurant with bar area in front and dining seating in back serving Peruvian food like lomo saltado and fresh seafood like ceviches. Wonderful, helpful staff and friendly service from all. This place was amazing. I was so happy to try out Lomo Libre. We started with the Cesar salad with shrimp. Great flavor, very fresh, avocado, and shrimp added for some nice crunch and seafood. Next the Oysters with the leche de Tigre and ceviche clasico. Both were briny, salty, citrusy,and plump. Next came the Lomo saltado and tallarin saltado. The sauce was just enough for both and not overpoweringly salty, sweet, or anything. Lastly was the chaufa. Not my favorite, a little over seasoned to my liking, but great still. They have a great happy hour here! Wednesday-Thursday from 4-6 and Fri-Sun from 3-6!! My husband adores this place and comes here once a week. He loves the Lomo Saltado, oysters and ceviche. This is a great spot to order some tapas to share. They have big flavors and a welcoming, homey atmosphere. The bar is huge and I see lots of people come in solo and sit at the bar and watch sports on their big screens. This place can get busy but they're worth the wait. Their ceviches are all on point. Try the sampler trio and decide which is your favorite! Empanadas are yummy and there is a vegetarian option. Burritos will fill you up! The burger is pretty good but I'd recommend trying their Peruvian fare. Next time I go, I want to try their Pulpo! I have a new "go-to" spot for great Peruvian food in SF. I was craving for some ceviche and my friend saw that this place opened up a few months ago. We decided to come here on a Saturday night and shared the el toro salad with lomo strips, ceviche quatro (classic, verde, puerto and Nikkei), pulpo, oysters and fideos achupados. All of the ceviches were great. My favorite was the puerto. I think it would have been best to start with the Classico since it had the mildest flavor. The verde had a kick to it while the ahi in the Nikkei was just perfect. The salad was a lot bigger than what I expected and was really tasty with the lomo strips. The pulpo had the right amount of tenderness and the fideos was a great main with plenty of seafood. We were both impressed by the food quality and quantity. Needless to say, we had plenty of leftovers to take home. Service was good. The restaurant can get noisy especially when seated in the back near the kitchen. What a cute spot! They started as a food truck and now have this location and their sister restaurant puerto 27 in Pacifica. We walked in at 5pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately. As a person who is half Peruvian, this is some of the best chicha morada I've ever had! We also ordered the happy hour burger with yuca fries and salchipapas. I rediscovered Lomo Libre after a couple of years absence when they had closed for renovation. I dined twice in the past few weeks and I have to give them praise for serving really delicious food, in a sports bar, no less. I'm an early birdie so it's great that they open at 4 for happy hour and dinner. Behind the bar is a lone bartender who takes care of the whole house. Also there's a small station at the end of bar manned by a ceviche/oyster master. He brought me my oyster shooter, served in the cutest boot shaped glass. For food I enjoyed the Happy Hour Choritos - Peruvian mussels and sausage in a most addicting sauce; the other time I had the Conchitas - seared scallops that was plated and tasted like fine dining! Their desserts - flan and Peruvian picarones - are also pretty tasty. Lomo Libre is an excellent sports bar with lots of seating in the front bar area and group seating in the back. The one thing I'd recommend is eat your garlic fries quickly as they get cold quickly and these ones aren't as great when they are cold. In terms of service, 5 stars for sure! They were so nice because we were there a while they dropped us off a flan at our table even though it had been a while since we'd paid our check. Overall, it's a great restaurant. Maybe if they plated it differently, such as placing the lettuce, onion, and tomato on one side and having the burger open, it wouldn't look so bare.
