Franco's is one of my favorite places to go for brunch these days. I've been several times now, each time bringing more and more family and friends to check out the menu. Sometimes our group goes for the breakfast meals, the Nicaraguan Style Egg breakfast with Gallo Pinto, Plantains or Huevos Rancheros. I prefer the savory items for brunch and order the Salmon Tiradito, the Ceviche Platter, the Crab Sandwich, Empanadas and the Chicken Tinga tacos. Everything I have had has been great and have been back to re-order. The crab sandwich is HUGE and delicious, I typically split that with someone else. The flavors here are so rich and savory, sweet or spicy. Above all, the service is always friendly and accommodating. Great place to bring the family or friends for a low key but delicious brunch, lunch or dinner.

I think this place used to be Fresca years ago. I had reservations for two on a Friday night at 7pm. We were seated right away but there were a few open spots available. We were seated in the little corner at the front by the window. I really wanted to try a little bit of everything! We also started off with cocktails. My friend had a margarita and I had a Blue Hawaiian. We had: - Ceviche Mixto (shellfish, halibut, calamari) - $21 Note: we were asked if we wanted it with plantain chips but didn't realize that they were an additional cost ($7). Not a huge deal, but we didn't know what it came with. - Causa Pollo $18 - Causa is a Peruvian layered potato dish. This is served cold. The chicken is a chicken salad. It tasted like an elevated chicken salad and potato salad married, but much more exciting. - Salmon Risotto $32 - delicious. No other words. - Portobello Saltado $25 - This was a yummy and filling vegetarian dish with portobello, onion, and French fries sautéed savory sauce. Served with rice. The service was good. Staff were friendly. We were checked on regularly. It wasn't too noisy. It was mostly the sound of delightful chatter combined with the excitement of good food.

Eating here was really a treat. I started off with the plantain chips and the plantains. Both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Then I had the chicken stew dish with rice and that was also amazing and so hearty that I could only eat half of it. The service was fantastic, and the restaurant was a fun place to eat at.

This neighborhood restaurant is a real gem. They are very accommodating to large parties like the 17 people in my group, including wheelchair access for one of our family members. Despite the cozy interior, our family easily fit into the tables. As for their stellar service, they are attentive and friendly. They are also thoughtful -- upon arrival we see a couple of graduation balloons at our table. We order several appetizers for the tables and the hits are the birria tacos, adobe sliders, and the grilled octopus. Don't miss out on their sangria, their serving is very generous! Our party orders several plates and the ones I love best are the Aji de Gallina, which is something I've never had before but I thoroughly enjoyed; and one of my sisters ordered the Bistek, which I liked better than the Lomo Saltado, which was also good. Two other family members loved the fish tacos. As for dessert -- if you have room after all the plantain chips, appetizers, food and drinks -- get the donuts and maybe the mango cheesecake if they have it available. Everyone in our party had a great time. Book your next big group party here, and enjoy the food and hospitality!

Money well spent! Staff was nice and food was beyond good! Liked the paintings on the walls and the slight spooky feel for Halloween and the skeleton at the bar. Food was incredibly good. I came for my birthday and oh boy did they provide such delicious food. A great take on mango cheesecake and the lemon zest in arroz con leche was such a fun taste. Loved it and so did my friends!

    Salmon Risotto Dinner

Came here on a Sunday night and honestly was pretty disappointed with the service. The restaurant was not very busy there were 2 other tables besides us and at least 4 waiters. We were seated right away but the booth had a lot of tortilla crumbs. We ordered the passion fruit Fresca, lamb, fish and chips, salmon risotto , and Portola mushroom stir fry. We also got the calamari and grilled squid as appetizers. The appetizers came out fairly quickly and were pretty delicious. Small portions for the price though. The main courses were honestly a bit disappointing. I asked for my lamb to be cooked medium rare but it was overcooked and not juicy. The salmon risotto was pretty good, however the fish and chips were pretty bland and tasted unseasoned. The fish also had a lot of batter. The main issue was definitely the service. Workers were not attentive at all , and I had to wave them down several times before they came over. On top of that, I finished my glass of water for a while and no one came by to refill it and I had to waive down one of the four waiters to do so. It just seemed like they did NOT care about the service and did not care to check on the guests. Overall I would not come back, as the service really ruined my experience.

Came here for lunch with a large party. Sangria was nice. We order some fried plantains, dessert plaintains with some whipped cream. Very delicious. This time I ordered the fish stew. It came with rice. It has a coconut flavor and the sauce was beige in color. It was delicious. All the fish, mussels and clams were cooked perfectly. I even enjoyed the leftovers at home!

    Lilian L.

Delicious, delicious, delicious food. Friendly staff. Lots of variety on the menu, and I love lamb. They had a good beer selection from El Salvador when I was there (seasonal). I'll go there again and again. Have taken small groups several times.

Ambiance is casual. Service staff is friendly. The food was delightful and the portions are large enough that it can be shared. All the dishes had great flavors and taste The menu had many options. A definite must visit!

So delicious and for a good price. Lots of yummy vegetarian options for brunch - we were very pleased! We went on a Saturday morning right when they opened and it wasn't super crowded - the food was definitely freshly made for us! Will 100% be coming back

    Octopus was grilled to perfection.

Never been even tho I've been a neighborhood person for years... it was wonderful! We got in very fast on a Friday, and honestly we had 2 apps and a ceviche and that was a meal. Salmon ceviche was plump and flavorful. The octopus!!! Was charred just perfectly. I loved every bite. The mustard based sauce had a kick so someone weak to spicy (like me) needed water breaks. I will come by myself again just for the octopus!

chicharron was yummy, lamb was presented beautifully but the rest was okay. plantain (sweet) with sour cream was a weird combination. good happy hour deal though, half sangria bottle was yumm

We were promptly seated on a Saturday night dinner around 6:15PM even though they were booked online until 7:45. Service was pretty quick and friendly, but you could tell they were trying to push us on selling drinks/appetizers. I felt like the service staff's mood might've changed a little after we were fine with only water (shocker I know, we usually don't order $17 cocktails...). Other appetizer menu items were similar in pricing if not more expensive than entrees themselves. I ordered an Arroz con Mariscos and a Pollo a la Brasa, and was pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes given the upscale restaurant vibe. I was expecting a lot less food, but turns out they gave regular portions, and boy were they GOOD. The paella is a standard paella, and it was very flavorful. Although it came with only a couple shrimp and other seafoods, the portion was still fulfilling for 1 person. To be fair, it's not really portioned to share unless you order a ton of other dishes. The half chicken was one of the best chickens I've had. The seasoning on the skin and the crispiness from the oven perfectly compliments each other, and my mouth is watering as I'm typing this. It's pretty savory, and the flavors soak through into the breast, so you know it's been marinating for a while. The fries reminded me of McDonald's fries cuts, and the salad was sweet and sour. An appetizer wasn't necessary for us, but if you're hungry, then definitely consider ordering one. The vibe was very cozy, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that since we ordered only 2 dishes, the service team kinda rushed us after ~45min of sitting and dining. To be fair, other tables had at least one cocktail per person, but at close to $20 per drink, we could not justify the price. A solid 4 stars!

All the food was so flavorful and delicious and the service was impeccable. Always filling up our waters, taking away empty plates, cleaning up the area, and checking in on us at all times. They started us with homemade fried taro chips with a spicy sauce that was complimentary. They do that on purpose cause you get addicted to it. Light fresh with at bite of the sauce! We ended up ordering two orders and didn't care that we had to pay!! LOL We then got the Tuna, Halibut and Mixto and ALL WERE light, fresh and delicious! I will say for the price - serving size was a bit small but they were a great start to our culinary journey! The starters were the roasted beet salad (SO GOOD!), Arugula Salad (great portion), corn ribs, Arancini Criollo, Empanadas, and Balitas De Yuca. The only thing I ate was the beet salad which was amazing and next time I would only share with one other person vs 3 of us :) The rest of the fam devoured all their starters so I assume they were all good. Their empanadas looked pretty flaky but I did notice it wasn't finished by one of my fam members so not sure about that.... Entrees at the table was several Braised Pork (Osso Bucco) on couscous (this was my dish - very tasty though the pork was on the dry side but when you eat with the very flavorful and perfectly cooked couscous with the crunchy bits of broccoli - it was delicious!!) Another highlight was the Branzino - had a bite of my youngest and it was perfectly pan fried - so much flavor and so tender. Came with a delicious puree and the garlic Broccolini was so good. A perfect accompaniment! Another of my favorite was the Aji De Galina which is a chicken stew with a spicy Aji Amarilo Creamy sauce and these soft on the inside but crispy on the outside purple potatoes. Came with their fluffy steamed jasmine rice! LOVED LOVED this dish. I was able to enjoy a bit of it from my oldest. The middle enjoyed her Lomo Saltado. Especially with their delicious rice. Their fries are on the skinny side so you get more crunch crisp. It came with tomatos, peppers and onions. A typical Peruvian dish. Hubby got the Pulpo Anticuchero.. Octopus was cooked perfectly - tender with a chew - but it came with Quinoa and hubby didn't feel like it was enough food. Luckily he got to finish up the rest of my braised pork and couscous. Also at the table we had the Arroz con Mariscos. They seemed to like the flavors and all the seafood. For desert - we got the Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta that was topped with a passion fruit reduction - texture and flavors were on point and so good. We also got the Alfajores - which is a typical peruvian dessert - a light and flaky cookie (they call biscuit) filled with a creamy dule de Leche. You get 4 of these cookies and they are good size! SO GOOD! Probably one of the better ones I've every had!! At the table they also got the lava cake and the Churro sandwich - along with sorbet and affogato. The lava cakes were demolished right away so I assume they were good. The churro sandwich looked interesting and disappeared as well so I assume the fam enjoyed it. There is a nice selection off the main menu for Happy Hour 4-6pm. Providing an opportunity to sample one or more of the menu items as an appetizer. I chose the mussels with garlic bread, as good ones are not found easily. The portion was quite ample, and the sauce I dipped my nice crunchy garlic bread in was very flavorful, warm and delicious. I also tried the plantains which were cooked perfectly; not too mushy with a perfect char, and the sweet onions on top were also tasty. Paired with a very tangy dipping sauce. All the flavors came together well. My husband ordered the Cantina burger which he enjoyed down to the last bite. Our daughter also sampled off the smaller menu with Lomo Empanadas and the Chicharron de Pollo which she reported were both very nicely prepared. Will, our server gave us excellent recommendations which we availed ourselves of. The bill for 4 items plus the burger, a side of rice, and a ginger beer came to just under seventy dollars, which was a reasonable price. I would definitely give the food five stars, and the restaurant four as it's a long and lengthy bar with a few tables for two. The majority of the seating is in the back with two flat screens and an open kitchen. I can imagine how loud this place can get. We went at the perfect time: not a lot of customers so we received excellent individualized service from Will. I would hope to be able to return next time we visit GG Park and sample some more menu items like the Peruvian Paella which sounded very promising.

Offering a rich array of traditional Peruvian dishes, Mi Lindo Peru is a celebrated restaurant known for its vibrant flavours and generous portions. The establishment has become a favourite of go-to spots among locals and visitors alike for an authentic taste of Peru in San Francisco. Located in Bernal Heights, parking can be challenging in this bustling area. Luckily, we arrived around 6:30 PM, so I was able to find a space across the street, less than a block away. Truth be told, though - I did drive around the neighbourhood about 1.5 times before scoring a spot. The brightly lit dining room's ambiance is casual, unfussy and welcoming. Only one table was occupied and no other customers arrived to dine in during our visit. We sat at the half booth table at the very front, adjacent to the entrance. On this evening, the spacious venue was clean; however, a small stack of empty white plastic buckets at the foyer floor stuck out to me like an eye sore. Along with our menus, we were served a complimentary basket of two slices of soft, white bread, a ramekin each of a single ball of soft butter and a non-spicy red salsa. Below are what we ordered: Chicha Morada (Glass, $4.95) - Ana ordered this beverage for me, insisting that I try a Peruvian drink. She described this sweet purple corn juice as a Peruvian Kool-Aid. Her description was pretty spot on. Just a bit too sweet for me, but nonetheless refreshing. Aji de Gallina ($22.95) - I have always been curious about this classic Peruvian creamy stew, so was stoked that Smitty said that she was ordering it. YUM!! I need to order this next time! Lomo a lo Pobre ($28.95) - "A lo pobre" translates to "poor man's style" in Spanish and refers to the simple addition of a fried egg, fried plantains and/or rice and french fries to traditional Peruvian dishes to add another level of tastiness. I'm a big fan of Lomo Saltado, but jumped on this option with the added plaintain and perfectly fried egg. I was conservative and had the egg yolk ooze over the white rice (I could tell that the rice was steaming hot because the yolk began to cook once I sat the egg atop it). I immediately regretted that move, kicking myself for missing out on exploring the added flavour from breaking the egg over the meat, veggies and french fries medley. Next time, for sure! Despite the slight tough texture of the lean strips of meat, my meal was still delicious and enjoyable. Service was friendly and fast. I was taken aback when the check was delivered sans asking us if we were interested in dessert, though,...especially because I was so looking forward to a sweet finale with Alfajores. We inquired, but, sadly, they were out of the dulce de leche cookies due to their popularity during Valentine's Day weekend. The cookie monster in me was SUPER bummed. I initially thought that they had no inventory of postres (dessert) since they didn't offer any at first, but turned out that they did, indeed, still had offerings. We decided to pass on the sweet course. So delighted I was to be introduced to Mi Lindo Peru by mi querida amiga. I would happily return to continue the delectable culinary journey here that highlights the essence of Peru.

I don't think the potato will blow anyone's socks off but I really liked it :) Service is very friendly, it's giving family owned vibes. The interior is festive with lots of Peruvian decorations and there's a cute faux grass welcoming mat outside to set the mood. Overall I recommend this place!
