This place was really wonderful. Fresh locally farmed eggs and corned beef hash were what I had. I would recommend it. My wife had the Lone Star Benedict. She was impressed too. I am from the northeast and I enjoy a good breakfast diner experience. We had been going to the Snooty Pig in Keller but the owners sold and the new owners don't have a clue. We then went to Old West - the food is great but the crowds on a Saturday or Sunday are too much to deal withh. Happened to drive by Lone Star Cafe and thought we'd give it a try. I stopped in for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to discover they not only did poached eggs, they cooked them perfectly. The restaurant was relatively busy, but my service was prompt and friendly. I was dining alone and they seated me at a relatively small table, but there was sufficient space to eat. The manager came by and checked on me, as well as various servers offering coffee refills. The biscuits were very light and fluffy (unusual for many restaurants). read more

Walking in the door doesn't result in a good morning, a smile or friendly faces. First time here and I got a gruff 'We'll be right with you.' It wasn't busy. Our server was pleasant and friendly. Breakfast eggs, bacon and hash browns took 40 minutes to get to the table. Ordered a third egg and received what appeared to be one egg. So received a side egg. Fruit bowl was literally one strawberry cut up and 6 grapes with a bit of cantaloupe. Food tasted good. I'm just not sure what I'm paying $35 on for this meal with my son. You'd be better served going to Local Diner, Eggsellent Cafe or even Waffle House. read more

I have been there twice ant there will not be a third time. Both times my order came out wrong. The prices are much too high. Lots of empty tables at 10 am on a Saturday. Old West will now be worth the wait. read more

Stumbled onto this local place and will definitely come back. My husband had the country breakfast with biscuits and sausage gravy, which were great. I had the BLT, bacon was crisp and plenty. You must go here for breakfast. The eggs Benedict is wonderful. Perfectly prepared. The bacon is thick cut and just right crispiness. Also had their pancakes. Light and fluffy. Make sure to ask them the grill the English muffin. read more

Two/one stars based on food, canned corn beef hash, frozen hash browns, & frozen biscuits. Fresh fruit was ok, but probably precut from food service company. Frying was extra greasy, hash browns & hash. Eggs were fried okay, nothing was great-but some acceptable, after tasting biscuit didn't finish. Tried to eat corn beef hash, always my favorite everywhere I go for breakfast, didn't finish it, as I wrote previously -canned & extra greasy. Disappointed with food for sure! Great food and value. I had a Denver omelette which was delicious and the hash browns rocked. I highly recommend going there for breakfast. You can see the fresh squeezed orange juice being made. The coffee is nice and smooth. I will be back again. read more

They must have lost their chef. Loved it the first time I went. But I took my out of town friends there the food not only wasn't the same quality but served lukewarm. No syrup or butter served with waffle. Had to ask for it. I hope they return to the former quality. read more

Stopped in yesterday for a late breakfast. All in all very good. Breakfast in our area has lots of competition and I believe Lone Star Cafe will make it! We definitely will be back for either another breakfast or maybe try lunch. The menu is quite large, so there are options for everyone. The coffee is outstanding for a coffee shop (Segafredo). Only one minor miss hit in the service yesterday is the reason for not rating them 5 stars, but nothing too significant. Give it a try and you won't be sorry you did! read more

Arrived at 12:30 pm on a Sunday. Party of one. Upon arrival at the host/hostess desk just inside the front door, I was greeted warmly and told someone would be with me shortly. Almost as if on que, a waitress arrived and started complaining about the customers and said she was ready to shut down one side of the restaurant so she could start cleaning. So I stood and waited. After a few minutes I was shown to an empty booth near the entrance. Menu is full of options, no complaints there. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, applewood smoked bacon, grits, biscuit, gravy. After about 15 minutes, my eggs, grits and bacon arrived. I assumed my biscuit and gravy would soon follow. I finished my eggs and grits and held off on the bacon because I wanted to have it available when the biscuit/gravy arrived. Waitress advised me that they had ran out of biscuits and it would be about 10 more minutes. I declined an offer for toast instead. Once the biscuit and gravy arrived I noticed some eerie similarities. Upon close inspection, my fears were confirmed. The biscuits are not fresh made. It's the exact same biscuit as I make at home. Pilsbury. And to add insult to injury, the gravy was no doubt pre-packaged white gravy. Pioneer brand no doubt. Recommend going to Jam & Toast if you want a better brunch choice. I just experienced a good helping of Texas Hospitality. Good food, great service. I was greeted with a friendly smile and hello's from many staff members. I am sure all the servers were as good as Larry who waited on me. I was seated and Larry served a cup of coffee quickly. Getting coffee first thing is always a good sign of attentive service in my book! Not to mention getting refills as I needed them. The food was served quickly, hot, and perfect to the way I ordered it. I was never felt rushed. I will definitely make this a stop when I travel into DFW on my way to my meetings. read more

I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN! I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with a side of fruit to go. I picked up the order, walked back to work, I work a few buildings down from them. Opened my order and I received a sausage and egg omelet. I called them back they said they would make a new order. I walk back over 15 minutes later and they said I could not receive my new order until I brought back the wrong order. I asked to talk to a manager and told her I was not walking back to get an order that you made wrong when I already had to make another trip. And I have NEVER returned an order from them. She then proceeds to tell me they hadn't even started my new order. I turned around and walked out. You don't even deserve the 1 star, but that was the only way I could leave this review. Like I said, I order from them daily, not to mention my office also orders on regular basis. Well guess what? You probably just lost at least $200/week over a $10 omelet. read more
