i think coated one of the most unhealthy fast food chains, but i'm not gonna lie, i love it and miss it being a bigger franchise. i believe this may be one of the last ones open in existence and i hope they can hang on longer for the sake of nostalgia and pure memory. read more

This is the closest LJS there is from where I live so I was hoping to get decent food. Let me tell you the food from LJS was fresh made to order. Everything was fantastic. Also the service I received was not far behind. The lady who I think was the manager and the other cashier were very nice. The lady who gave me my order was sweet as cake as well. Expect to wait about 10 min but very worth it. The place inside was nice and clean and people were lined up to order food. That says alot. Will be returning soon read more

Ordered 2 fish dinner combos from Long John Silver but unfortunately the order wasn't checked. When I got home, I had 2 chicken dinners from Kentucky Fried Chicken. I drove all the way from Torrance to come here with my entire family. The restaurant has a sign posted that they are open till 9:00pm. I arrived at 8:25 with a family of 8 people hoping to sit down and eat inside. Not surprised at the terrible reviews. Turns out the staff started cleaning and flipping over chairs 45 minutes early, probably so they don't have to stay after. I feel bad for the owner of this location, if I knew my employees were pulling something like this they would be gone on the spot. I love this place and sad that more and more are closing. Food is pretty good. I went to the drive through so I can't comment on the inside.

I knew I should have just ordered a lil bite from the KFC menu but I decided to see what the hype was all about. After what took FOREVER, I finally got my food and it looked alright for what it is (greasy ole fish)...but after I forced myself to eat my food, my stomach started acting up...just another reminder to trust your instincts. Don't ever eat here if you're accustomed to eating good food! They will ask you to wait 10 min for a fresh batch of planks and then serve you a re dipped batch saturated with dirty oil. Didn't even waste more often my life trying to get a refund! I would do more yelping if I could be more honest with my reviews. Had a coupon for $1.00 off the 8 piece shrimp dinner. Had never had any seafood from her as I usually order the grilled chicken (KFC). The person at the register had to ask how to do the coupon but after some help he got it to work. My order was a carry-out. I waited as expected and then my order was handed to me. I took it without checking it (Wrong). Got home and when I opened the box threr were 8 pieces of burnt shrimp. The potatoe wedges had been cooked sometime today but definately were not fresh. Fortunately I live close so back I went. I asked for the Manager and showed her my order. She said she would redo it and she would cook it herself. She did and we checked it before I left the store the second time. Got it home and the taste was ok, the potatoes were hot and the shrimp were good. DO NOT EAT HERE! I got the 2-piece fish yesterday--my first time ever at this location--and I woke up last night with painful stomach cramps and diarrhea. I've ordered from their KFC side before and never had a problem. (Never had a problem with any fast food actually.) She told me that they make everything to order so it would be an 8-9 minute wait. I said fine, but when I pulled up to the window my food was ready when I paid. So how long had that old fish been sitting there??? I am so angry! Ever since I moved away from the Midwest, I've craved Long John Silver's so much. There's just something about those sweet battered, hand dipped, made to order chicken and fish planks that you just can't find at other fast food places. Other fast food chicken strips come frozen in a bag, not these. They batter and fry them themselves at long John Silvers. (Oh how I love them!) That being said, because it takes a minute, there's always about a ten minute wait for your food so they have you pull around and wait in the parking lot for it. The area the place is located at is very sketchy and I always feel like I'm about to get robbed waiting. Sketchy people circle my car and look me up and down and it makes me feel super uncomfortable. To avoid getting murdered or robbed here, I always just send my friends to go pick it up for me instead. 5- stars for the food, 3 stars for the location. Oh- and it's attached to a KFC so if you don't feel like waiting the extra few minutes for deliciousness gold, you can always just order from the basic KFC menu. Oh- and depending on who's working, sometimes they let you call your order in ahead of time so it's ready by the time you get there so you can just show up, grab your food and pay. read more

Don't bother unless you want a meal EXACTLY as it is offered. I wanted 2 chicken planks and hush puppies. I asked if they sold hush puppies individually. I was told no. They have a LJS meal with two fish planks, a side and two hush puppies for $5.99. I asked if I could substitute chicken for the fish (priced exactly the same per piece). Again, was told no. Another combo was suggested that came with 2 chicken plans, hush puppies, a side and a drink. Fairly priced at $6.49 but they offer nothing I can drink. Can't comment on the food because I didn't order any! Rude employees and absolutely no attempt at all to satisfy customers. read more

My wife and I have to drive about 15 miles from Lakewood just to avail of this special promo coz we loved your fish & chips & were disappointed when the nearest LJS told us that they don't have that promo. Ordered Fish and Shrimp got home had Fish and Chicken no shrimp and it tasted like soap or bleach. Very nasty my stomach is actually hurting. I was so hungry too what a disappointment. Ended up throwing in the trash. What ever happened to quality control. read more

I come to this location acacionally during the day with my husband and 2 young children ( yrs 5 & 2 ). And normally the employees seem short handed and i most of the time feel like my kids seem to b a bit much for them. I tend to feel like we r to much of a handfull for them. But, tonight i came in during the evening and the cashier, jim, was awsome. Nothing but smiles, happy to help. And best of all it was like they enjoyeed my children. Even hooked up my daughter with extra gravy because she loves that stuff. Manager was awsome with nothing but smiles.
