The little thing that they gave me which was extremely fast
    Kenneth B.

it was very good. The service was extremely fast, punctual and extremely friendly. The ambience was also right to the old like docking and fishing type of scenario, so it was also a good type of audience and environment that would conduce you to eating at a fish type of entity. I also I also like the overall atmosphere and how people were tuned in and also the type of crowd that was in as well too definitely

Not impressed. I get its fast food but gross. Fries were cold and the fish was wet and the breading was soggy. I won't be back

Food has gotten much better after the opening. It was over cooked initially. It has been much better lately.

At midday on a weekday (spring-2026), this warm-feeling comfortable pub was active but not crowded. Of course we had beer-battered fish & chips: tender sweet cod in a not-too-thick crunchy flavorful coating, with fresh greens, onions, and tomatoes. Served with piping-hot thin fries, hand-cut to give a variety of crispier vs. soft bites. You could get that as a small-plate, as a Po'Boy sandwich, or as a main. And we had a bowl of thick rich flavorful creamy chowder. Delicious, satisfying dishes. They had a nice selection of deep crusty savory pies, too. We loved their amazing range of single-malt whiskeys, including some like a smokey softly-fruity Port Askaig that we haven't seen elsewhere. We liked slowly sipping a strongly-peaty young Islay, like 10-year Laphroaig, and Boyd's also had plenty of smoother well-aged pours up and down the price-range. They also had a nice selection of crafts, ales, stouts, ciders, and several Scottish brews. We saw that they have live music almost every evening (not Mondays), with midday music Sat and Sun. Scottish, Irish, bluegrass, old-time, classic country, and more! Next time we have to fit that into our schedule. And fútball (soccer) of course! Boyd's Jig & Reel is a must-visit in the middle of Knoxville!

It's one of my favorite cuisines, so I was excited to try this place after finding it on Yelp. It was my last night in town on a work trip, and I finally had a little time to unwind on my own before heading home the next day. As soon as I walked in, I could tell from the atmosphere that I had found the right spot. I sat at the bar and was greeted almost immediately by the bartender (Laura M.), who was friendly and attentive throughout. The couple of other patrons nearby were also welcoming. At this point, I'm starting to think that might just be a Knoxville thing. This was my third trip to the city, I think, and I've had a similar experience each time. I ordered the Scotch egg with blueberry compote and the cottage pie with a side of onion gravy. I would have liked a little more sausage on the Scotch egg, but that is about the only critique I can come up with. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor, and both are dishes I would absolutely order again. I also tried a couple of local beers: a PB&J sour from XUL Beer Company that somehow really did taste like drinking a PB&J sandwich, and the Dr. Robot Blackberry Lemon Sour from Monday Night Brewing. Both were excellent. Overall, this was a great experience, and I'll definitely be looking for a reason to come back to Knoxville just so I can eat here again.

We waited for group to order ahead of us and then stoped up to side of bar to order. After order sat down at a high top table. They had a few high tops and lower tables in sitting area. There are a few TVs and a small stage. The music was a little loud but we were still able to have a conversation. The start of the food were Rueben balls. Five came out for the order with mustard and thousand island. These were good but could have been a little warmer. I got the fish and chips. It came with tartar sauce and a small Cole slaw. The fish was a single piece that was about two inches thick and about six inches long. It was very flaky and very well cooked. Plenty of chips came with the order. They were well seasoned. The star of the meal was my wife's order of Bangers and Mash. The Bangers were good but the mashed potatoes with gravy and onions were perfect. If I were ordering again that's what I would get. If you are okay with minimal table service and slightly loud music, then I would definitely give it a shot.

I had the Monte Cristo and it was perfect! Great place with good food and good prices. Service was a little slow on drink refills but they were busier than usual. All and all always a great choice.

I ordered fish and chips menu said this was a new item so I thought I would try it. So I ordered fish and chips and could get one side dish so I ordered a caesar salad. The waitress said I could pick another side. I thought the chips would have been the first side but apparently not. We ordered chicken tenders from the children's menu. I received the Caesar salad and we were waiting for the rest of our food.I finished my salad and the rest of our order still hadn't arrived. I told my niece they must have had to go catch the fish (she ordered salmon). The order started coming out so we started cutting the chicken tenders from the kids meal and the first piece was not chicken it was fish so we put it on my plate and let the waitress know we got a piece of fish instead of a piece of chicken and that's when everything started going down hill. I guess we were supposed to set the piece of fish to the side because she wanted to know where it was. After explaining a second time she brought the chicken tender. When we started eating the waitress came back by and asked how everything was. We all replied ok. There were 3 adults and a child in our group. Just after she walked away I realized I didn't receive my fries, before she came back by a floor manager stopped and asked how our meals were. We told her about one of the chicken tenders was a piece of fish and that I didn't get my fries. She offered to get me the fries but I was getting full so I said no. The waitress came back to the table and started asking what had happened which the floor manager had already told her. She said she ASSumed I didn't want the fries but the salad and that is why she said I had another side. I had already closed the menu and thought maybe it came with 2 sides but it didn't. I'm not sure how many people order fish and chips and don't want the fries because if that were the case they could have ordered the white fish meal that was above the fish and chips. Anyway she continued to discuss the order, never offered an apology or anything. This person should not work with the public she has a chip(not a fry) on her shoulder which doesn't go well in the hospitality industry. We asked for a to go box and she never returned to the table but quickly brought one to the table across from us who had requested one after we did. I think the waitress needs to be let go and probably the floor manager too because she didn't help the situation!
