I'm so glad they opened this spot in San Jose, so I don't have to go to Newark. Imo these two locations scores similarly, but some friends still think the one in Newark tastes better. Another nice point about this new spot is that there's never a wait. Still considering this the best hot pot place, despite plenty of new addition to the South Bay hotpot scene.

So FYI it's not All You Can Eat, it's a set menu price on each individual item, which rounds out to be about 40 bucks per person. So on to the food review: The meats were delicious and tender. My favorite was the steak! The tofu was so tender and yummy, and the broth was so satisfying and flavorful. The customer service was awesome, they sat us down super fast and with ease! My beautiful wife is a wheelchair user, and they were very accommodating for her and that means so much to me. Price Point: 10/10 Quality of Food: 10/10 Overall: 20/10

I'm always in the mood for hotpot, especially on a chilly day. This is one of my favorite Chinese hotpot places, and they've now opened a second location in San Jose, located in the Vietnam Town area. Both the broths and ingredients were delicious and comforting! Their side snack portions are generous too, and my favorites were cucumber salad, popcorn chicken, and the sliced oranges. The staff were friendly and the meal price was reasonable.

Hands down my favorite hotpot in this area. I brought friends who had the original Sichuan hotpot like this. They all say this is one of the closest tastes. I only was able to get one picture since everyone dived in real quick . Service is quick and efficient. They have a sauce bar where you can grabs dessert bites after. The restaurant is spacious, big tables, a few private tables. Food is fresh and they have a good variety of selections. Definitely give it a try.

I really loves the bar area for $3/person and this is not all you can eat so I loves it but the quality meat here is not that great! It is a Chinese hot pot located in Vietnam Town. Once enter you are to order by the barcode on the table. We order the 2 flavors soup base, the mushroom soup was good because the broth was deep pork broth, the spicy broth was not that great as somehow I taste lamb/sheep flavors in it which I don't likes those meats. I love the sauce bar area as the chicken feet was good, I would love to come here and eat the chicken feet and the desert itself if they let me without the hot pot! The bar had seaweed salad, chicken feet, Kim chicken, cucumber salad, fried chicken, peanuts, chips........ I like the jelly desert the most! I am not a hot pot person so the salad bar was great for me by itself!

If you don't want to run your entire wallet at hadilao but craving some delicious hotpot, definitely give this place a try. Located in Vietnam town you can find this amazing place that offers such a cheap alternative to expensive places like hadilao. Came here with my girlfriend and we got the pork broth and the Szechuan medium. The quality here is amazing, everything that we ordered tasted super fresh! There is also a self serve bar where you can get sauces for your hotpot or little appetizers such as wonton chips, clams, seaweed salad and much more. When you order, it's also through a QR code and you barely get to interact with any of the workers here. I would also suggest scanning the wait list QR code on my photos so y'all could join to beat the line ahead!

Their sauce bar concept is unique in that you can get more than just ingredients for your sauce. They have fried chicken, chicken feet, cooked beef cubes and various side dishes. That along with their delicious soup base makes this place one of my new favorites. Here's the quick lowdown: + Tonkotsu soup is popular and not at all spicy so my kids can eat (5/5) + Tomato soup is my kids favorite and has a sweet and tangy flavor (5/5) + Egg fried rice taste like you went to a hole in the wall Oakland Chinatown place back in the 90s (5/5) + Side dishes here are all delicious with my favorites in the following order of goodness: Pickled cabbage, cucumber, fried chicken/skin, beef cubes, fried wonton skin, edamame and peanuts (all 4/5) + Marbled beef is exactly what it is... perfectly marbled meat and thinly sliced for fast cooking (4/5) + Located in Vietnam Town where you can find dessert and many other food compliments (4/5) - The side bar pickled cucumbers were not replenished the entire time we were there (2/5) The clientele here is mainly Asians. I see plates of chicken feet from the sauce bar along with orders of marbled meat and tripe. Ambiance is casual with families and friends enjoying their hot pot meals. Parking is easy because not all of the shops are filled. My wife loves this place so easily 4.5 stars if you include her rating.

Overall: haidilao but cheaper Affordable and tasty hot pot. We spent about $100 for a group of 4 and everyone was stuffed after. I like how they also have a sauce bar on top of the hot pot which include lots of side dishes such as: seaweed salad, check feet, cucumbers, kimchi, fried chicken, sesame balls, fresh fruit, and more!!! The serves don't really speak English so it was a little bit of a language barrier, although the entire experience is pretty seamless as you order via scanning a QR code on your phone. Bonus: I love how they have extra long chopsticks

We finally got to try the new hot pot place in Vietnam Town. Just a heads-up, this isn't Vietnamese hot pot, so speaking Vietnamese with the staff might not get you very far. I tried and it didn't work out, haha. It's actually a Chinese hot pot spot, and they have another location in Newark. You order everything through a QR code at your table, and there's a self-serve bar for appetizers, sauces, and desserts. It's $3 for the bar, and I'm not sure if it's optional, but honestly, it's a great deal. There's a wide selection including two types of chicken feet, clams, three kinds of Chinese-style sweet soups, fruits, and more. Make sure to try the peanuts at the bar. My wife loved them so much she wanted to take some home. They're savory with just a hint of sweetness. For our soup bases, we went with the medicinal chicken soup and the spicy butter broth. Just a note, the "medium" level for the spicy butter broth is actually very spicy, and I usually handle heat pretty well. It tastes good, but once you see the giant chunk of butter in there, you might not want to sip it like a regular soup. That's where the medicinal broth was a nice balance. The meat slices were really tender and felt high quality. The enoki mushrooms were also a favorite. I'd probably skip the skewers next time though. They look cool, but they were tough and not as enjoyable. It's a fun and flavorful new addition to Vietnam Town. Hopefully they build a solid customer base because it's definitely worth a visit. Expect around $50/pp after tax and tip.

FLAVOR (5/5): Holy, I think I found my new favorite hot pot spot in San Jose. Hands down get the chicken pork stomach soup it's super rich, not fatty and very comforting when it's cold! All their meat was very good quality! But really don't sleep on their side dishes / sauce bar / dessert bar. They have the BEST popcorn fried chicken that's included in your sauce price so it's all you can eat sides. The pickled chicken feet were spicy beware! The clams, cucumbers and other sides I also got multiple rounds of. They have some chinese soup dessert options and sesame balls which are great if you catch them putting them out right when they're fried! INSTAGRAM WORTHY (5/5): The interior is remodeled and very clean! The table spread is also very appetizing, they have met skewers, trays of ingredients and even a cart on the side to put your extra orders that can't fit on the table top! SERVICE (4/5): We had about a 10 minute wait on a weekday lunch, they cleared and set a table for us really quickly after a party left! They always came by to ask if we needed soup refills as well. TAKEAWAYS: Don't order too much hot pot ingredients because you'll want to go ham on the sides too.

Decent food, felt like the sauce station was a bit neglected by the end of the evening. Don't expect much English. Good luck!

Saw this place was on soft opening while strolling through Vietnamtown. Quick search shows they already have a location in Newark with good reviews. Once you're seated, you order through QR code and scroll through their menu. Menu is pretty long, including 6 different broths to choose from, some very unique meat pieces, assortment of skewers (also for the hot pot), and some house special snacks. (Unique meats included duck blood, goose intestine, pork brain, beef stomach). Some of the menu has Chinese characters, so we had to google translate that it was spice levels for the broth. It costs $2.98 per person for access to the sauce bar. Sauce bar is covered with sliding screens, which I thought was nice to keep it a little more tidy. The sides we grabbed were some pickled veggies and even some cold clams, which we grabbed a lot of. There was also chicken feet. My favorite to see at the hot pot sauce bar is the mushroom sauce. We got the Spicy Butter Broth and Mushroom soup bases. The meats were nicely cut and not frozen. I think I would probably get a different broth than mushroom because eating the spicy was too overpowering for my palette. I did not like the liver skewers and I would probably not order the skewers again. All other meats were delicious. I just wish they had a sweet soy at the service bar (there's sugar but it's really not the same). I don't think I liked the Marbled beef. I would get the beef short rib. We didn't want to stray for any expensive meats today, but maybe we'll try it next time. There were fruits and some jellies for end of meal, but we were too full to get it. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Service was very fast, though we were only one of two tables dining that evening. The restaurant itself feels very new and clean. Pricing is fairly reasonable, though I hate to say about $100 is normal for two people now. Service - 5 / Ambiance - 5 / Food - 4 / Price - 4

PARKING: decent parking, it's around other places so it is in a lot but if it is a busy time it would be pretty hard to try and get a space. PLACE: fairly big, but not too big, would have to combine a few chairs and tables to accommodate to bigger parties, the sauces and everything are already on the table, so are the dishes as well. FOOD: We got the ultra, Tom Yum Tonkotsu & Shiro Miso Soymilk - Tom Yum tasted really good and it paired well with the meat, the Shiro Miso just tasted more like miso soup than actual soy milk mixed in. American Wagyu & Black Angus Beef Toro - I feel like the American Wagyu was a little too fatty for my liking, or it could be the other way around lol, I kind of don't remember which one was which but one had amazing marbling that melted in your mouth. We also got lychee beer, which was super good, didn't even taste like beer. We had like 3 glasses which is funny because we aren't drinkers but it was so delicious. I recommend any of their fruity beers. Edamame - don't really recommend, comes cold and some pieces were not really good.

We came in with a party of six for dinner on a Monday evening when the restaurant was relatively quiet, with only a few other tables occupied. We asked if it would be possible to combine tables so our group could order multiple broths and enjoy the meal together because sharing one pot for a party of 6 gets a little crowded, but the request was denied despite there appearing to be plenty of available space. As the meal progressed, our broth became extremely cloudy and thick from cooking. We politely asked if we could receive a fresh pot of the same broth--not a different broth, just a new pot so we could continue enjoying our meal. Unfortunately, this request was also denied. The broth flavoring was also underwhelming and started to taste the same after our first refill. What made the experience disappointing was the lack of flexibility and willingness to accommodate reasonable requests, especially during a slow service period. Customer service and hospitality are an important part of the dining experience, and we left feeling that our concerns were dismissed rather than addressed.

There was a bit of a wait and you can waitlist on their ipad inside. We waited for about 20-30 minutes.    Before getting seated they ask if you want to do the normal hot pot style or AYCE. The AYCE runs for 90 minutes and is $24.99 during lunch and $30.95 during dinner time. They also charge for leftover food which is $6 per lb. We ended up doing the normal one pot hot pot for each person.    I always get my usual lamb hot pot which already comes with vermicelli noodles and choose rice as my free side dish. There are various levels of spiciness and I chose extra spicy which is a level down from there flaming spicy from what I can recall. Honestly it was not spicy enough but I did not want to get the spiciest level in fear that it would be too oily. Perhaps I will try that the next time to see if it is.    They have a bar further in the back of the restaurant where you can get creat your sauce and get some garnishes for your hot pot. I also noticed they have some other sides like noodles and such next to it. It seems if you are not participating in AYCE you can still get sauces and garnishes but I am not sure about the other sides.    The interior has changed from the last time I came here and it looks nice! Service was standard and everyone was nice. It does feel more chaotic now that they have AYCE but that  is understandable.

Something about the smell of the broth made me think it wasn't just my personal preference for food that made me not like it, it was an actual musty-ness and chlorine smell. I'm thinking maybe the broth was old and reheated? Or maybe it's been boiling all day and they just added some water to it? It's really hard to describe, but I'll just say I've had a lot of different hotpot like Japanese shabu and haidilao and boiling point and really liked it, and I also really like Korean soups, but I've never had this weird musty funky smell. To be honest I couldn't continue eating after trying to sip the broth 4 times--and I tried 4 different flavors of broth. Even the miso broth, which usually just taste like miso and water with a bit of onion, had this weird funky smell, and all the broths had a similar weird undertone. There were some other hygiene issues. I noticed that the surface of the dishes had some smudges such as the picture I provided where the hotpot bowl has some dried rice stuck to it, the dried rice was there before it came to our table. It seemed like maybe they were hand washing the dishes or not doing a thorough job. Usually restaurants like this need some kind of high heat industrial washer, and maybe they aren't using that? I noticed the surface of my spoon just had a funky detergent smell similar to the broth. The sauce bar was mostly okay, however there was a really tacky looking setup where there was some soy sauce and other sauces in 1 gallon glass drink dispensers, I think the sauce was coming out too fast which caused it to look all splattered in sauce and not very cleanly looking. Also the sauce dishes were being held in a plastic dish tub which looked a bit unclean. I also noticed something going on at the entrance of the kitchen. One of the workers installed a heavy duty fan to blow air out of the kitchen and into the restaurant. I don't know why this would need to be done. If you need to dry something you usually use a mop or a squigee. So maybe it was some funky smell in the kitchen? What caused that smell? It could also be that they were going to close soon and this is just their normal end of day procedure, but there were still a lot of people eating, so why would they blow smelly air into the restaurant while people are eating?
