    BBQ Roast Pork

I've driven past Long Phung Restaurant several times in anticipation of when they would open up. I am excited to try this new place out. I ordered some takeout. The interior is decorated like stereotypical Asian decor. LOL.They have a larger dining section should the main area become filled. They can accommodate a few large parties. Two BBQ items - I chose the Roast Duck and Roast Pork. Both were tasty and had good flavor. Though, the skin on the Roast pig wasn't crunchy anymore (as it was the end of the day). Singapore Style Fried Rice Vermicelli - it had good curry flavor and was stir fried well. The service was friendly and if you spoke vietnamese or chinese, yould would be OK. They spoke a little English unless you talked to the owner?/cutting thr BBQ items. I'll be back to dine in. Support your local business.

We were recommended this place by the staff at Cha Ca Long Phung since we saw them eating the roast pork and commented about how good it looks. We made a reservation for this place over the weekend for dinner. What we ate: peking ribs (3/5) -- more of a sweet and sour flavor profile, we would like it to be more savory...also lacking crispiness yan chow fried rice (10/5) -- light, aromatic, well separated grains...would return for this dish alone singapore noodle (3/5) -- not enough curry and I prefer more egg, just ask for extra curry sizzling beef (3/5) -- I did not taste this, family said it is average war wonton soup (5/5) -- flavorful broth, meaty wonton, gai lan cooked perfectly beef chow fun, dry (4/5) -- overall enjoyed by everyone. a little oily for me, but very good wok hei roast pork, duck (5/5) -- both succulent and well seasoned A bit on the pricier side, but well worth it for the better executed dishes. Good service throughout the meal as well.

Excellent service and excellent food. We greeted immediately and the drink order taken. Location was clean, tables clean and food great, my daughter ordered the BBQ plate, the duck is sooo good. We will make it a point to eat here again. Many blessings to this family.

I believe this restaurant took over Han Kee because I've been going to Han Kee since I was a kid with my family. I decided to still give Long Phung restaurant a try because my cousin went during their grand opening and said they still kept the same workers and menu almost. Interior is still the same with an updated menu with additional items. I immediately went and ordered what I always get when I used to come here before: the hu tieu trieu chau to see if there was a big difference in the soups now. Surprisingly, the soup still came out the same but with cha cá (fish cake) which is Long Phung's special twist. If anything, I think the soup actually tastes more flavorful than before. The sate (chili paste) and pickled jalapeños are still offered on the tables for customers to use. I'm glad they didn't change the menu and soups too much after taking over. I'll be back with my family to try the other items on the menu and because I enjoyed the cha cá from Long Phung to begin with.

Delicious meal! The salt & pepper fish was crispy and flavorful, the prawns noodles were tasty, and the seafood crispy noodles had a great mix of fresh seafood and vegetables. My go to place for duck and pork ! Overall, a tasty, generous spread with lots of variety--perfect for sharing with family or friends. Friendly staff ! Fast service !

This is the third new restaurant in this small strip mall. The Thai and Persian restaurants did extremely well, so I figure I would give this place a try. This new restaurant has taken over Hankee, a Cantonese BBQ & Seafood restaurant. Stepping into Long Phung is like a deja vu moment of the former store. Nothing much has changed other than a new fish tank where they used to hold the lobsters captive. Our servers were very timid, shy, somewhat inexperienced. One wore gloves with a ripped finger to take our order and served our food. We got the holy trinity of Chinese BBQ dishes (pork, duck, and chicken), soup, fried rice, and veggie. Maybe we came later in the day, like at 6pm, but all the bbq dishes were rather dry. Our crab corn soup were mostly corn and egg. The only decent dish was the salted fish fried rice. If I come here again, I might just go for lunch or take out. Really not a seat down dinner place.

Little hole in the wall type of restaurant! This place was so good! And quick! Initially went in for the noodles but ended up trying the rice and that was also delicious!!

This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food and customer service are outstanding and go above and beyond expectations. You have to try the duck--it's absolutely delicious!

Pubic hair in my food. Its hella long too...

In my initial review. I gave them five stars. I had to edit it when I found something disturbing. It is really DISGUSTING!!!!!. I found a long PUBIC HAIR in my spare ribs. No thanks. Never coming back. See photo.

Classic ho fun and egg noodle soup. The new owners seems to have kept the recipe about the same. Broth is still clean tasting and can be adjusted for your liking. For myself I always add more salt but my parents prefer it as is. I see since Long Phung took over they added their twist of including their speciality which is fish cake into these special combination noodle soup bowls. I'll definitely be back to try the other dishes that they've added like the prawn noodle special. Also want to try their fried rice and black bean chow fun to compare to Han Kee before.

Getting them to-go or taking them home just isn't the same experience--they are best enjoyed hot right out of the kitchen. The Environment: The restaurant itself is very basic and could definitely use a deep clean, especially the floors. If you're looking for a romantic lunch, a date spot, or a sleek environment, you will be disappointed. Final Verdict: I definitely recommend this spot if you want a fast, delicious dumpling fix and don't care much about ambiance. Just lower your expectations for the decor, dine in, and enjoy the food!

If you're going to be paying $60-$70 for two people, you would at least expect your food not to be burnt and the staff not be rude! I have been looking forward to going to this place for two years, it was a birthday dinner and I was so disappointed by my experience. I understand that it's downtown San Jose and we came in the evening, so maybe that's just how closing staff is. First off when we were seated, I asked to be moved to a more comfortable's table because the chairs were really uncomfortable for me. The staff seemed irritated and said "I guess" which was the first red flag because it's nerve-racking enough to ask for a special request and to be met with an unprofessional answer like that was disheartening. Secondly, two orders of dumplings came out burnt, which was seriously disappointing. We could barely eat them. We didn't end up finishing them. I brought this up to staff. He told me they weren't burnt and that's just how they are. I know the difference between burnt and browned and these were definitely burnt hard on the bottom and inedible. He begrudgingly told me well "I'm sorry but you'd still would have to pay for another order". I don't think that's fair at all so I said "it's fine were ok" I don't wanna give this company any more of my money anyway if this is how they treat their customers. Lastly, once we were done with our food and paid the check, the man came back to our table and asked us if there was anything he could do for us and how if we enjoyed our meal this felt like a slap in the face after everything I've already asked of him that he refused and denied and being met with a disingenuous offer just felt petty. All in all, I wouldn't go here if you're looking for food that is not burnt Service that is helpful and hospitable. Andexperience that is anything above fast casual dining.

We walked in right at opening to a completely empty dining room. Instead of leaving, we browsed the menu and ordered XLB, pot stickers, jelly fish, and pea sprouts (my personal fav) so glad we didn't leave! The XLB are a nice size, with each precious dumpling cradled in its own foil wrapper for maximum soup retention. The potstickers were full of flavor, packed with protein, delicately wrapped, and had the crispiest, golden bottoms! Jelly fish was fresh and the pea sprouts were a hit! The poor owner answering the phones made sure (in all languages) to inform folks calling in that there were a different May Flower than the other place-felt terrible for her but also understood the importance of differentiating right up front. I can only imagine the number of misorders they have probably dealt with. By the time we were done, the dining room was filled with a mix of what seemed like regulars, locals, large groups of families, small groups of friends... this feels like we stumbled upon a tiny hole in the wall restaurant where everyone who has been before just knows the quality and taste they are going to be getting! Highly recommend you check this place out for a dine in or take out order!

This is one of the handful of American Chinese restaurants that stood the test of time. As is typical of these places, there was an old lady manning the counter and also acting as the server. And as is typical of these places, there was table at the end where they were prepping the fruits and veggies. It's truly remarkable how they are all similar in these ways! We got a couple of dishes and they came out at lightning speed. * Chowmein-3/5- delicious with lots of umami flavor but shockingly greasy. I mean I am used to oily noodles but this one exceeded some limits. *crispy salt and pepper eggplant-3/5- I had a stellar version of this dish at another restaurant in Sunnyvale and was stoked when I saw this on the menu here. Unfortunately it was a poor representation of the dish I loved there. The batter was too much and the dish felt heavy. The hot oil or sauce they had felt old and extremely vinegary as well, I would recommend avoiding it.
