Went in to look at a camper we liked, was a cold winter late afternoon. Decided to go back another day to look it over in the daylight. Before we left our sales person wanted me to sign paper to hold for the next day. When we went the next day noticed a hole in the side of the camper from an accident. This is a new camper I am talking about. When we saw the hole which they said could be fixed, but decided not to buy a damaged camper. Well the story changed then. They told us we are committed because we signed an agreement. Got mad and left, the next thing we received letters saying we need to conclude the sale. Continued getting letters from their lawyer. After playing games that if we bought another camper they would let us off on the damaged camper. Went thru hell back and forth. Stay away from these crooks. Evil people to put us thru their scam. 5 stars isn't high enough. I called after my black tank clogged. They told me to come in right away, they spent over 2 hours cleaning out my tank. My service dog ‍ and I were very comfortable in their lounge area. I've used 2 other RV repair facilities in Massachusetts and Connecticut that couldn't handle simple repairs. Going into the 5th week that my RV has been in for some repairs. No matter how many calls I make it is literally impossible to get a service rep to answer my calls. I leave message after message for repair updates and I do not even receive the courtesy of a return phone call. I managed to get the service rep once and he explained the repairs with the exception of the last repair which are windshield wipers. Some mysterious issue if a replacement part was order or not. I have called and called for an update and my perception is I am being totally ignored and blown off. I am wasting precious time unable to use my RV on any trips. How difficult is it to walk across the service department floor to parts and find out if the part has been ordered or not. Absolutely terrible follow-up to requested repair work. According to Longview management... "We always aim for five-star customer service..." Well you missed the 5-star target review totally. read more

So on Tuesday my wife and I purchase an RV travel trailer from Longview RV sales in Windsor Locks, CT with the promise to pick it up on Saturday the 5th. Get a call on friday that our trailer has been stolen from their lot. After getting no info for 2 days about our deposit or about a new trailer I finally have to call and speak with their general manager Todd. He explains there is no inventory to be had and there is nothing he can do. I explain this was a 23rd year aniversary gift for my wife, that we had non refundable camp site booked for next weekend. He says "I have no sympathy for you, we lost a trailer and a motorhome and our mechanics tools. " I said wait a minute, I actually do feel for you, but maybe you shoulda invested in some better security to which he tells me to go F myself and take my business elsewhere. Think about doing business elsewhere, can only imagine if I had my trailer in for service and it was stolen, they would stick you with the loss. read more

The service department contacted my husband. They arranged to pick up our trailer diagnosed the leak behind the toilet and repaired it. We are very happy that they made an effort to resolve the problem. We will check next summer to make sure the leak is fully repaired, however they stated that there work is guaranteed. I'm feeling more confident about their service department. read more

After posting this review I was contacted by the GM from Long View. Todd was exceptional and addressed my concerns. He assured me they would get everything squared away. A technician was dispatched to my house yesterday and he took care of the items that needed to be addressed. Long View stepped up and took care of what they said they would. Bryan was our salesperson today and I was ready to buy the camper today. Bryan was not knowledgeable, he was not friendly, disrespectful , not courteous, and insulting. It was down pouring. We found the camper we loved but it had a good size dent in the refrigerator door. After looking at campers I asked if I can pull my truck up to pick up my family bc it was raining. Bryan responds "no""you'll get wet no matter what" them makes us walk back in the down pour. As we're walking we noticed other customers being escorted around in golf carts During negotiations Bryan asked for an offer. I offered 3k below asking and was putting 20% down. He came back and said he would meet us in the middle but the price was far from meeting in the middle. I still offered to pay there price if they fixed the damage fridge or I would take as is if we met in the middle like he said they would. He rejected the offer. I explained I would trade the camper in within a year for a much larger one and do not want it effecting the trade in value. Bryan responding saying that interior damage would not effect the value. I could help but to laugh. I asked him if he would buy a new car with damage his response was " I wouldn't buy a new car" and laughed! Beware of the dishonesty that now seems to be prevalent throughout the Long View RV dealership in Windsor Locks CT. We agreed to purchase a new travel trailer. After providing a credit card as a deposit, and while running our credit (which is exceptional), they sold the camper to a different buyer a few days later. Their solution? Wait two weeks for a different unit to come in and they would provide free delivery. A $250 credit. Wow. Thanks but no thanks. This is how they treat a return customer as this would have been our second unit from them. read more

We had a couple blips in the road when buying our new travel trailer with Longview. There was a slight miscommunication regarding what would be in included in the final sale. However with that being said, the parts, sales, and service department worked with my husband and I regarding following through with most of the previously agreed upon expectations. It was then provided to us in writing so there would be no other " misunderstandings". Word to the wise a dealer tells you something do not leave without it in writing I has originally asked for this and was told it would it happen it didn't . I will take ownership but lesson learned The finance lady Deb was really supportive and helpful. she kept an open line of communication with me which gave me peace of mind . All in all the people we encountered were considerate, understanding, and while we weren't 100% satisfied I would say ballpark high 70s satisfied. they showed a great deal of professionalism regarding their ability to work with us and meeting more in the middle than we expected . It was a breath of fresh air as other dealers we have previously dealt with wouldn't even budge, despite their " promises during their sales pitch to sell . Todd in sales stepped up and ensured our most of our previously agreed upon deal was put in writing . Mike in parts completed the demo and when we found a few issues with the trailer immediately Longview in our presence fixed them . The price of installing the hitch and electric brake can't complain it was what we expected but I would recommend if you have the time shop around. So all things considered Longview should be considered as a place to make an rv/ travel trailer purchase. read more

RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! Sold us a camper with 1. Damaged roof that leaked 2. All the support bolts for side wall were missing and wall now bows and door and sides wont line up right 3. Heat wont shut off and ran the whole time it was closed in their lot. 4. We only had the camper for 38 minuets. Never got to use it and now they wont stand behind it. Only offer was to go half with us to drill a bunch of holes and mount some bar to fix the bend in the roof. Now we are on the hook for $3500 plus labor to fix roof the right way. The service department tried their best to make it right they right way but they were blocked by the shady managers of the sales department. They even tried blaming it on us. We offered to trade it in towards the purchase of a new one. That's where their true colors showed. Manger wanted "make it right" so they offered $10,000. for the messed up camper trade in. Close enough to what we paid even though I was eating $1400. but when we looked at another camper the price of our trade in dropped $3000. Looking online while sitting in the show room, I discovered they weren't giving us anything close to $10,000. for our trade. They were just jacking up the price of the new units to to make it look like they were. It doesn't get any shadier than that. Not only did they screw us the first time. Now they are trying to make a huge profit off of the deal to make it right. The funny thing is they forced us to pay that "inspection and prep fee" of $399 that should have caught all this. Missed all the bolts missing along with everything else. Do yourself a favor and save your self the aggravation. Just go somewhere else where they stand behind what they sell. Once Longview RV gets your money, they do not care about you, your family or your camper. read more

I reside in Texas and bought a travel trailer from Longview RV Superstores while working jn Connecticut on September 10,2017. The dealership gave me the paperwork to register it with the Texas DMV but gave me the wrong title. They contacted me about the mix up and I attempted to fix the VIN myself at the Texas DMV. However, the Texas tax assessor stated it was the duty of the dealership to fix the issue. My lien holder was notified and sent back the incorrect title to Long View RV Superstore. Since then, they still have not addressed the wrong VIN with the Texas DMV. I have been in contact with both the lien holder and the dealership but no progress has been made for almost four years. I guess once they have your money, they don't care. I'm taking the steps I can to resolve this but this is literally their job and they jacked it up royally. read more

Ok, I have a total of 2 interactions with Longview RV in Windsor. The first experience was when I was looking to buy my Rockwood A122 camper. I was doing some shopping around and had located a few places that had or could get the A122 (not A122s or A122BH) and had some prices. Longview's price was $3,000 more than another quote that I had. Rather than express interest in negotiating they told me that the price I had was below cost and it was just a bait and switch price that the other dealer was offering me and that "I would be sorry that I wasted my gas" if i were to drive to the other dealer. Overall the sales person spent more time talking about how I was going to get screwed and ripped off than talking me about the camper or why they deserve the business. It was 100% a hard sale. I did not have good feelings about this sales person and was glad that I decided to go through with the purchase at the other dealer, the sales person was a true professional and handled the entire process with utmost professionalism. They even had an onsite campground to try out the camper for free the first night. We didnt have time to do this however. Well now that I have had the unit for a little bit, I have noticed a few minor manufacturing issues with a couple of seals (window seal is so tight that I am afraid i am going to break the window opening it, door seal isnt quite sitting right because the upper magnet isnt sitting right). In all honesty they are all things I could probably fix myself in under a half hour. But I am not going to risk voiding the warranty by making my own repairs to any of the seals. I called Longview on Monday. Informed them that I would like to get some warranty work done and that I would like to drop it off and have it back hopefully be the end of the week. I was told shouldn't be an issue, they all sound like straight forward issues that shouldn't need parts. Wednesday I took a half day off of work to drop the unit off, and then was told by the service manager that they couldn't do the work this week, and that I would have to drop it off for 2 weeks while they process the warranty claim. When i questioned this because that wasn't what I was told when I called on Monday he told me that its because Rockwood won't pay most claims and that since I didn't buy from them they were unwilling to take the risk of the claim being denied and having to lose money on the service and they would need to have the service completely approved before they would do the work and this takes about 2 weeks. When I asked if i could schedule a day to bring it back in 2 weeks from now, they said no. They need the unit to take pictures of the issues and to be able to provide any additional documentation that Forest River requires during this 2 week window. In addition I was told that if I wanted to pay cash they could have it done right now and it would be $100 - $150. At this point I asked to speak to the general manager. I then said that Ok, I need it this weekend, but if i brought it back next week, you will be able to get this taken care of in 2 weeks? Because in all honesty this sounds like complete BS to me and I want to know that in 2 weeks that I will have my camper back. At this point the general manager came out and was very rude, accusing me of wasting their service managers time. And that I was trying to bully them into servicing my unit. At this point I asked him the same thing that I just asked the service manager and was told. No, the 2 weeks is just for the paperwork, they wont even schedule the service till they get the approval. It then would likely be another 2-3 week for the repair because there is at least a week required to order any parts after the service is approved (Yet, when previously speaking to them or if I were to pay cash for the repair there would be no parts required for the work?). So they would need the unit for at least 4-5 weeks for these issues. At this point I said I didnt believe this and would like to get someone from rockwood on the phone to discuss this and get it taken care of. This is when the general manager flat out said that this was not worth their time to submit the claim and that I was free to take my business elsewhere and that they would not be servicing my camper. Overall I can not belive how this dealer has behaved on both occasions that I have delt with them. I strongly recommend that you stay away from them as they know they are the only dealer in town and are comfortable with strongarm and underhanded tactics. A perfect example of these policies is while waiting in the service area there was a sign stating that a "diagnostic charge" is required to diagnose any service contract work regardless if the work is covered under the service contract or not. After dealing with this issue, i called the dealer i purchased the camper from and explained what happened, they promised to contact Forest River on my behalf to get this straightened out for me. read more

We were turned off by Longview after looking for help while we were still in CT and feeling like we weren't heard. That is why we never reached out to Longview again when we had more difficulties, we figured "why bother?" However, Frank was quick to hear our concerns and offer to make amends. The selection of RVs is impressive, i would reco this place and staff to a friend. Bailey our salesperson was very helpful and if he didn't know something he would ask the question to his team. He made us feel confident in our purchase before and after the process. He was certainly not a typical pushy salesman and gave us time to think over our decision. We even decided to buy a different RV when we returned to make our purchase. Our orientation was ok but would request improvement. Our RV was not prepped ahead of time. The outdoor kitchen was filthy. The TV was not installed. The RV overall was not cleaned which delayed the process. We also said we would be prepping 2 trucks which was indicated on paperwork, yet the shop was not prepared to do so and had to make alternate arrangements. The remote control was not prepped. The RV was also missing the tire cover which apparently is being ordered. Not sure why this wasn't done prior to pick up. John was great and showed us all the ins and outs of the camper. He was very nice and helpful. He made recos for campsites to check out and advised us as to what was needed to purchase before we left. We are looking forward to our adventures and cant wait to be a part of this glamping community! read more

As many people our search for an RV was a family adventure. We did our research online, read reviews, considered prices and visited the Hershey RV Show in September 2017. We finally made a decision on the unit we wanted. A Forest River Wildwood 31KQBTS. The closest Forest River RV dealer to our home is the Longview RV Superstore. We live on Long Island, NY and it is a 2 hour 30+ minute drive. So in September we packed up the kids in the car and drove there. We met with our salesman Rem and went over a unit. We decided not to make a purchase until the spring of 2018 so we would be able to use it right away and not just have it sitting in our driveway all winter. So yesterday, after making an appointment with Rem a week ago for yesterday, we all packed into the car to go and purchase our new Travel Trailer. We arrive at the lot at 12:10 pm more than enough time to look at the unit and go through financing etc.... We went out with Rem to look at the only unit of our camper they had on site. We also looked at other units to make sure we chose the right one which we did. We head back to the office with Rem to start the paperwork. When we had spoken on the phone to set the appointment, I had informed him very clearly that we wanted to do no haggling. We wanted them to come with their best price and we had been quoted prices already but wanted to go with them as they are the most "local". He completely understood and said they would probably not be able to match the price but they would come close. That was fine, it was peace of mind to buy something that we could see and touch instead of online and have it shipped to us. Rem takes all of our information and then goes to speak to the General Manager to get pricing. We waited all of 5 minutes when Rem comes back and says that they can't meet the price we were given and that their prices is in the mid 20's. He was holding paper in his hand and I looked over and it was 3 sheets of paper printed from RVT website with various listing of our camper from other RV dealers. On the bottom of the 1st page in Green marker were the exact words "GET REAL COME ON!!". When I saw that I asked Rem, was that directed at us? He just nodded. I said that is the most unprofessional behavior I have ever seen, that we drove all the way from NY. I informed Rem we are taking our business elsewhere and took my children and walked out the door. My husband stayed and went to speak tot he General Manager Todd Emerson. He asked the General Manager his name and he said Todd, my husband asked if he had a business card and he said NO. He then told my husband to enjoy his long drive back to NY. Thanksfully my husband just left. I found the email price I had been quoted and went back inside and showed it to Rem to show I was not making it up and his reply was, I am sorry to have made you make the trip, I am in the middle. I understood, thanked him for his assistance and left. The rest of the staff seemed to be nervous about the GM's behavior although obviously no one would say anything about it. I am hopeful that the owner of this dealer becomes aware of the treatment of its customers. The behavior of the GM Todd was completely uncalled for. We were being very straightforward with the pricing we have received. If their best price was $25K, we could have very easily worked with that, they never even gave us a chance. They lost a sale by their own arrogance. On a side note, on our ride home, we called 3 other RV dealers and were able to get 3 written quotes for the $22-$23k we were looking to spend. In addition, the 3 units quotes had all of the available options which the unit at Longview did not so Longview's GM Todd lost himself a sale as well as did us a favor because 1 hour after we left we ordered a unit that we wanted and will have it shipped to us in 10 days. What a wonderful experience! As first time RV buyers, we had a ton of questions about everything and the staff of Long View answered all of them until we were fully educated about whatever we may have been asking about. They took their time working with us to get us into the right RV for us, which fit out camping needs and budget beautifully. When we bought our RV, we had a bunch of additional things installed (TV, outside shower) and maintenance done (uv treatment on roof). Everything was done quickly and professionally, then explained to us so we would know how to work and care for everything on board. While we just purchased and couldn't be happier we're already looking forward to our next camper and our next purchase from Long View. read more

I bought my 2014 Thor ACE 29.2 motorhome new, at LongView RV and I signed up for the RV Warranty Forever program. I am glad I did as when I was in Florida, the water hose that screws on to the back of the water heater tank unscrewed itself and filled the water heater tank compartment half full of water. I had no hot water, but a mobile RV service company worked with RV Warranty Forever and replaced damaged parts (the heating element, wiring, etc.) with no charge to me. I am back in Connecticut now and I am having my yearly RV Warranty Forever checkup being done at the LongView RV Service Department as I type this review. I have always found the employees at LongView RV, very friendly and not just to make a sale. When I bought my RV I showed the saleperson five on-line print-outs of the same ACE motorhome being sold at LongView RV, at other dealerships, but for a lesser price. The salesperson brought the other dealerships print-out prices to someone (Frank?), then came back with a price very similar to the print-out prices! If I had any complaints, it is with the on-line website. When I fill out the forms on the Sales form, I get a response. But when I fill out the forms on the Parts Department form and the Service Department form I do not get a response. It seems they only respond when a phone call is made directly to them! Maybe the forms do not work? The Service Department web page has Paul Messenger's e-mail address, and Paul no longer works at LongView RV. When you click on the Parts Department Catalog your computer will show a pop-up warning telling you to leave the website and that this is an "unsecure website and information may be stolen if you continue"! I notified LongView RV of this through their Sales form (and how it may be costing them a loss of money) and got a response that this has been going on for about a month now and that they plan to fix it. That was a couple of month ago and the problem is still there. I did however, ignore the Parts Department Catalog website warnings and used the parts catalog and found two Fantastic Fans, including price and part numbers that I am having installed on my motohome at LongView RV as I type this. However, when I brought my motorhome to LongView RV Service Department I was told that the on-line catalog is over two years old and the price of each fan is $75 more!! I should have said, "No, I'll have the same fans installed at Camping World in Florida cheaper", but I wanted them on now so I told them to install them. Many companies put pictures of their employees on their website, along with their work e-mail address. LongView RV should do this. It's good for employee moral and sales and it helps customers get better connected with the company knowing who the customers are talking to and e-mailing. read more

I would like to thank the staff at Long View RV for helping me to realize that this is not a company I would ever want to do business with. After arguing with me that a camper I saw at another dealer "could not possibly exist with these options" then being treated like a third class citizen who was trying to...I don't even know what she thought...by the financial person because the credit report they pulled on me had issues from years ago that have long since been cleared up, we left Long View, returned to the first dealer and have purchased the camper that I was told by Long View sales people couldn't possibly exist. My local credit union had no problem financing me for the full amount. Amazingly, the issues the Long View finance department were using to make me feel like something found on the bottom of their shoes did not even show up on the report pulled today. So thank you, Long View, for showing me the error of my ways. I'll not be thinking of you while I'm enjoying my new camper. Oh, and I was promised $50 in shop credit for a Google review. I can not comment on the sales department, I can comment on the Service Department. When you go to service ask for Kevin Rooney, he is the BEST, the other service reps may be good, but with Kevin, you have the best! I have brought my 2008 Monaco MONARCH in for service on a number of items. I have a great contract with a warranty company that covers alot of items. Kevin went to bat for me on having the warranty company cover the cost, yes we got alot of items covered but that was only due to Kevin's hard work. I brought my RV back again, this time the A/C died in this hot humid weather in Conn. I brought my RV in and left it with them for 2 weeks and the warranty company paid for a new A/C, I only had to pay for the deductible Kevin has a great support team that also goes the extra effort to make sure your happy. They also stand by their work, I had some problems with the new A/C system and I brought it back and they checked every thing out and I also got an education on the A/C System. The A/C works the heat pump, but the propane works the furnace. After the A/C was installed the furnace didn't work. I turns out located on the furnace was a circuit breaker hidden on the actual unit. I learned that if there is a surge or the amps change this circuit breaker will trip and won't work until you open the panel outside to the furnace and reset it. No where in the Monaco documentation tells you that. Another thing when I purchased the RV in Ventura Calif. the resale shop gave me a 20 minute education on the RV sold me a warranty that was useless and I was off and running. Kevin's tech team educated me in working the thermostat and what not to do, which was what I was doing, I learned about as you change the modes, the thermostat goes through a cycle, in the past, I would just shut off the thermostat by the on / off switch and by doing what I had been doing was causing the circuit breaker to blow and I could be causing more problems. I appreciate Kevin going all out to help me get everything that could be covered was covered and save me lots of $$$$, It's very hard to find a good RV shop when your a full time RV'er. I just heard from Longview RV and based on the facts of this situation they have indicated that they are refunding what I paid for their A/C diagnosis. They value the goodwill of their customers and are standing behind their work. If I could have I would have left a negative 5 star.... had them do work on my rv and told them i would be there at a set time and they assured me the rv was ready when we got there and no it was not. Then we looked the rv over and the work they did was horrible. The wood working was left with nails showing. We had them turn the refrigerator off and open the door then they never opened the door and we had mold in there. They did clean it though... in the process of looking the rv over we found they scratch the doors on the compartments. We talked to the owner and he kind of could careless all he offers was to call him on the next time we come in. Never will go there again. read more

Avoid at all costs. Worst title clerks, worst customer service. Once you buy from them it's "Good luck, we do not care."

Worst dealership ever. They don't even return phone calls. I've called the finance department 4 times and have been sent to voice mail. I've left a message all 4 times and no one has called me back. I would never buy an rv again from this place. I would rather travel out of state then have to deal with this place again. read more

I bought my RV here and had a great experience buying it. The salesman was great and I got a good deal. Unfortunately I had problems after the sale was complete with the tow hitch they sold me. I ALMOST lost the trailor when driving over 60mph and now I can not get help resolving my problems. They won't return a phone call or answer an email. I'm completely shocked how I am being treated.
