I have gone here most of my life, a lot as a little, also as a a young adult with my family, and now as a middle aged person, with two of my best friends! It's an experience. You can see, feel, and smell how wonderfully antiquated this place is. We sat in the kitchen from years ago. The service was friendly. You get muffins to start. We also ordered the cheese dip, which was delicious. All three of us had the three course menu. We started with salads-yum!, then had the seafood bake, and had to take our Indian pudding (a must). The place is an experience that I highly recommend.

The front door is an entrance. I didn't believe that so I walked to the back.

I love the place. Very cool to be so old and have all that history. There is parking near the entrance and parking across the street. The staff was great. A very nice young lady found me a seat and my waitress was attentive, friendly, and made a lot of recommendations. Now, I saw they had a Sunday dinner special for $32. It came with soup or salad, a main course ( three options ) and a dessert. I went with that and was eyeing the leg of lamb. The waitress said the Turkey was better and everyone gets it. I took her recommendation. There was a lot of food. A lot!! I got the clam chowder. It was delicious, and warming on such a cold night. Absolutely loved the soup. I took the recommendation of the Turkey over the leg of lamb. I regret this choice only because the Turkey was super dry. I drowned it in Gravy and cranberry sauce and it was still very dry. I didn't have the heart to say something so I ate as much as I could. The last part was dessert, I got apple pie with vanilla ice cream. This was a great way to end the meal. It also paired perfectly with the hot apple cider I got. Overall, I recommend this place to everyone. The history is cool, the service is stellar. I think I just got dry turkey.

We came the day before Thanksgiving with my 81-year-old Aunt and 85-year-old Mom. We were early and got a seat right in front of the fireplace. Home cooking, generous portions and the price was reasonable, too. What history and atmophere. We loved it.

We were visiting Boston for the first time and decided to take a drive to see MA. We loved our dinner at Longfellow's Wayside Inn. We enjoyed the dinner special of Yankee Pot Roast and apple pie. The beet and apple salad was delicious and paired well with the chicken pot pie. Our server was great and she took care of our needs including specially wrapping our leftovers. The interiors were old colonial. The grounds are beautiful for those romantic strolls.

The food was sadly similar to that in a public school cafeteria. Nice staff and ambience but truly awful food. A big disappointment.

Food was okay and server was excellent. Bartender, in the bar, had a hair across. No personality, no humor. Really soured the day.

They only serve breakfast and lunch, and they close early (2 pm weekdays). The staff, from the hostess to the servers, were all very friendly. Nice to see smiles again in a restaurant! I loved the maple margarita. Perfect balance of sweet and salty. The food came out hot and nicely plated. Do not miss the smashed potatoes, the veggie hash, and the freshly squeezed juices. All are delicious. My omelette was jam packed with all kinds of veggies. The only negative is that it is very loud inside and can be hard to hear your own conversation. If I lived close by, I would be a regular.

I've been here for both of my sisters' graduation brunches, and we always leave happy. It's become one of our favorite spots for a celebratory brunch. For drinks, I tried their new Vanilla Bean Matcha Latte with oat milk. It was a bit thicker than I expected--possibly because of the oat milk. I can definitely see some people loving that texture, but for me it was just okay. That said, it was still a good drink, and the hint of vanilla came through nicely without overpowering the matcha. For food, we ordered a variety of dishes for the table. 1. The chicken and waffles had so much flavor, and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly--not too runny, but still soft, gooey, and delicious. The chicken was a little soggy, but it made up for it by being incredibly tender. 2. The blueberry pancake was fantastic. Their pancake portions are huge, so this time we only ordered one to share. It was delicious, though definitely on the heavier side. 3. The house burger was easily the standout dish of the meal and might be my favorite item on the menu. It's simple and classic, but packed with flavor. 4. The chicken burger, on the other hand, was disappointing. The chicken was quite dry, and I probably wouldn't order it again. I think something like pickled onions or another acidic topping could help bring some balance and moisture to the sandwich. 5. We also tried the omelet, which was very good, especially with the goat cheese. What really made the experience special was that the staff noticed we were celebrating a graduation and surprised us with complimentary donuts. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a lovely way to end the meal.

My husband spent a dollar more and got the brunch burger which I sampled and it was head and shoulders above this sad little chicken sandwich that had very little flavor and should be taken off the menu IMO. It looks like a sandwich you would get from Panera, not a place like this. I want to give our bartender credit for the hard work she was doing attending to surrounding tables and bar patrons by herself. I also will give credit to the restaurant for the amazing truffle Parmesan fries and my yummy decaf espresso martini. But for the love of Pete -- stay away from this pathetic, tasteless and overpriced grilled chix sandwich that sounded great on the menu but failed miserably IRL. They can and should do better.

I am usually a vodka martini girl but this gin martini is just SO good. They got new martini glasses since the last time I ordered this drink and I'm obsessed with the new presentation. My martini arrived in a tall narrow martini glass and the "extra" was served in a chilled mini carafe. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHEN RESTAURANTS DO THIS. It makes the drink feel a little bit fancier and helps keep the drink fresh. It also makes you feel as though you are getting two drinks for the price of one . We sat at the bar per usual and shared the half nachos (+ candied jalapeños and chicken). We love the way their nachos are served and honestly the portions are huge and very generous. We couldn't even finish the half nachos between the two of us! The nachos are always LOADED and have such unique flavors. My favorite cocktails at Bourbon's are: Saturn (not currently on the menu but they are typically still able to make it), Clear Intentions (clarified Mai Thai with the most incredible flavor profile) and Freezer Door Martini. 10/10 recommend all 3 of these but honestly you can't go wrong with any of their cocktails.
