    Family steak night
    Candace D.

Our family night was not very good..after an hour our server realized she forgot to put our ticket up...with four kids under 7..we were given some fries, and shrimp (kids wanted their Mac and cheese and nuggets.) Filets and ribeyes were delayed..our deliveries are always fresh

Staff here is AMAZING. Super friendly polite and do not bother you too much. They always make sure you have what you need. Although the meat here in my opinion has no flavor or seasoning. Lobster was seasoned very well. They serve huge side salads and they're so good. A little over priced for unseasoned meat though

It was awesome!! The Appetizer was yummy. Firecracker Chicken Wraps!! The Grilled Chicken Salad was amazing as always!! Every time I'm in town from Vegas I always have to visit this location. Customer Service was great.

This was our first time dining at Longhorn Steakhouse. We really liked the decor onside the restaurant. Service was very good and so was the food. Parking was convenient. COVID precautions in place, with staff all wearing masks.

If I could give 4.5 I would. The staff was amazing, I believe I was seated by a manager, he was very kind. Our waitress was funny and did her job well. I got the lunch special steak sandwich and lobster & crab chowder. It was all very tasty but the edges of the bread on the sandwich were a little rough for my liking. Just toasted for a little too long.

Went to Longhorn on 10/15/21 and ordered a rare ribeye but we got raw. The meat was pretty cold still. Overall, the server was pleasant and helpful and notified the manager so this score/comment is nothing towards him. The manager stopped by and looked at the steak and asked us how we ordered the steak. I said rare and showed her. She apologized and asked if she wanted to have it recooked. At this point, I was there with my raw steak for about 30 minutes...I was pretty much done. I replied no and she replied "ok, I'm sorry" and walked away. Mind you Other tables had to send steaks back to the kitchen. I'm not here to ask for free food but a little more compassion would have been nice. The server followed up and asked what the manager decided and when we told him he was shocked. Needless to say, so was I. See photo of the steak.

I've been to various Longhorn locations in the past few years, and found it to be "fair" dining. In my terms, it meant I didn't plan to make a special effort to return, but wouldn't be upset if I happened to eat there again. Then, in Nov 2015 they hosted a yelp event at an Omaha location that I was invited too, and I was blown away at the service and the food. To make sure this wasn't just propaganda to butter "elite yelpers" up, I visited a few locations since the event to see if service and food were still up to par. I was pleasantly surprised at my findings. This Council Bluffs location was one of the ones I have visited since the yelp event, and I found the staff to be smiling, helpful, and not overbearing. All food came out on time and with the correct time spacing (app, main course, desert) and all food was hot served right as it was made (it seems). I was really happy with the wild west shrimp $8.99, as steal for the portion, and the lunch specials are also very reasonable. Overall the food was great. I have yet to try the ribeye, which I had loved very much at the event, but will have to save that for an update. And drink lots of water when dining here, as the food tends to be on the salty side.

Came here on a Tuesday night with a colleague for a late dinner. I ordered the 6oz filet and lobster tail with asparagus and a strawberry and pecan salad. The food was great. We sat at the bar and the bartender provided great service. Will be coming back here again. I highly recommend!! A++++

But I'm not going to downgrade a restaurant because they are sold out of a signature food item. It takes time to make smoked meats and you can't just pull it out of a freezer like they would do at some places. They did have the smoked chicken breast. So we got that along with the fried catfish. It was all good so I can't complain more than a little. Their sides are really good, I love the spicy pickle mix. I also got the elote and it was delicious. Next time I come here, if they are out of the chicken, I will probably just order a bunch of side dishes. They have so many that's it's hard to decide on just 2. Service was great. Ambiance is nice. There is a big sports screen and they were showing the Little League College World Series. Last time I went they were showing something unusual too but I can't remember what it was. Just that it was more interesting than the usual. Which fits, because their food is much more delicious and interesting than you can get at "the usual" barbecue places.

Sorry no pics. I have been too busy munching....next time Gadget...Next time…read more... Anyhow, onto the food. I went to Pinkerton's in San Antonio Texas, and the BBQ was unbelievable there. Just amazing. I have also had the BBQ in the KC MCI Airport where they serve really good drafts alongside their really good BBQ. These guys are not like Pinkerton's where you are in a line up picking out your meats and sides cafeteria style. This place was the sit down with a menu and make your selections type of place. This is not a downside by any means...just different than what I experienced in Texas, more like the place at the MCI Airport. Anyways, hubby, son, and I selected the burnt ends, pulled pork, chicken, kielbasa sausage, double order of brisket, and ribs. Sides we chose included slaw, Mac n cheese, cornbread, and fried onions. All of the sides were really tasty, I can't choose a favorite, because I really liked all of them. The meats were all tender, the chicken was slightly on the drier side, but the rib meat fell off the bone, the sausage was juicy, the pulled pork was just right in flavor and tenderness, the burnt ends were amazing, and the brisket was tender and quite flavorful. And on the side of all of this loveliness were the sauces. You got 3 kinds to choose from: Spicy, sweet, and the traditional bbq. I liked all three. Hubby liked to mix all 3 together. And son of mine preferred the sweet one. We were dead silent aside from the sounds of yum coming from us. It reminded us of the MCI airport bbq place. Servers were pleasant, the place was clean as well. This was a very pleasant surprise to find here in Omaha. I will most definitely come back again!

From the nicely sized loaded taters to the spicy hot links, to the tender ribs, to the succulent pulled pork, it's all so good. They even have great curly fries, and I'm not usually a big fan of curly fries because they are so often dry. One of my favorites from here is the open-face sandwich. It's Texas toast, mashed potatoes, brisket, and gravy. I add their pickled jalapenos on top of it, and it is heaven on a plate! Another thing about them that I love is that their ribs aren't swimming in sauce. They use a wonderful rub on them, and they have some really good sauces that you can add yourself if you want, so you can control how messy your ribs are. I find that I never really need the sauce because the ribs are flavorful, moist, and tender on their own. It's smoky goodness through and through. If you do prefer sauces, rest assured, they have some tasty options for you. The portion sizes are not skimpy, and we always feel like we get our money's worth. They have a nice, big menu board that is easy to read, and the prices for everything are clear. They also offer some great free condiments that elevate the menu offerings. Over by the soda machines, they have a small salad bar-style setup that includes sliced raw onions, pepperocinis, pickled jalapenos, dill pickle slices, and the like. It really makes the meal!

I'm sure you can find decent BBQ still in Nebraska, but this isn't it. First of all, the price of BBQ is outrageous. I think that's a product of this economy, but we spent over $30 on a 3 meat combo and an extra side. One person could probably have this for their meal, which is a decent amount of food, but this is very pricey for what you get. SMALL sides, and the sample you get 3 spare ribs, 5-6 brisket slices, and maybe 1/2 a link of sausage. Our sides were the Pit chips, Mac n cheese, and a small sliver of corn bread. Nothing else- no drinks, we're just interested in the food. Normally from a "true" Texas BBQ joint, you'll get an entire loaf of bread with your meats - we didn't get any bread at all. If you get a sandwich like their brisket sandwich, you'll get the missing element, but if you have a combo with just the meats, it might go a long way to making the experience better. How was the food? We got our food to go. Give it a little time to rest before opening it up. The smells were decent, so I knew that it was smoked meats (the bare minimum requirement for actual BBQ). Let's start with the sausage. Nothing special - probably bought from the grocery store next door and thrown in the smoker. No cheese in the sausage. It was OK, but wasn't great. It reminded me of an Oscar Meyer kilbasa with a little more kick (spices). Real Texas BBQ like a Rudy's sausage blows this away - not even in the same league. I appreciate the attempt, but if they are serving this stuff, they need to go back to the drawing board. It absolutely does not taste or look like they make their own sausage, but I would love to hear if they do. It would be shocking if they say that they make their own sausage. Brisket was probably the star of the combo. The first few pieces were tender and had a nice arc when you put your finger in the middle. Paired with their BBQ sauce (the sweet is better than their spicy sauce), if it was a one meat combo and they gave me more brisket, then I would have been more satisfied. If you're dragged there, go for the brisket. But I think a good bbq joint needs good ribs. The cooking was pretty spot on - not fall off the bone, but relatively clean bones. The spare ribs might have been a better choice. The bark on the ribs were decent, but just my preference, I like to have saucey ribs. These were maybe sauced and then thrown on the grill, but maybe not. The bark is pretty salty. Maybe good for drunk food, but they could do better on the ribs. Adding their sweet sauce at the end on the grill would make these ribs MUCH better, because all the elements are there, it is just the execution that lacked. My biggest problem was really the portions. The sides were REALLY small. The pit chips were just kettle chips (nice and crispy) with a HEAVY dose of spices. Not bad, but not amazing, and that tells you what you need to know about the sides. Mac and cheese was decent, but can you give me more than 1/2 a spoon full? For $3.00, I would expect about twice or three times the size of the container we got. The small portions sizes make me feel ripped off - when you pull it out of the bag and immediately say "really"? Everyone agrees that it should be like a $1 side if you were to say that you got your money's worth. If you charged $3 for a side, give a decent portion, would ya?!! Finally the corn bread. I love a "famous" corn bread from a competing bbq restaurant, and compared to them, this is rather disappointing. It certainly is sweet, and the taste is ok, but honestly, the way it tasted, it almost exactly tasted like a yellow cake mix from a grocery store. At the "famous" place, you have some grittiness from the corn - this didn't have much of that. It was fluffy and crumbly, so it had potential, but the experience wasn't there. The corn meal grittiness, kicking it up to double the amount, maybe triple, it would have been much better. As it stood, it was a small slice of yellow cake. So overall, you and your drunk buddies going here for drinks and getting some drunk food, I'm sure that's how this place survives. But the food - the reason why we went - it's not something you walk away and say that was an incredible meal! Small portion sizes, expensive food, and just OK flavor, it definitely wasn't worth it. I would say it is most definitely salvageable with some tweaks, but as it stands, I would put this in the mid- to bottom-tier of BBQ I've eaten in Omaha. Probably won't be back unless I hear that things have changed.
