    Steak salad
    Steven G.

We came at lunchtime around 130 on a Sunday and it was not very busy. We were seated quickly with great friendly servers and our server McKenna was super-friendly very knowledgeable and very helpful. Everything that we ordered was delicious. No disappointments here with the food or service. We shall come back again soon, Lord willing!

My wife brought me here for my birthday and LongHorn did not disappoint. Thank you, Sebastian for making my birthday celebration wonderful! The service was amazing and my steak and lobster were on point delicious. We had a wonderful corner booth with relaxing ambiance. Thank you again for a great birthday!

9 oz flo steak and stuffed potato
    Mark F.

I had the nine ounce "flo" steak cooked medium with a baked potato side and a hand chopped salad with vinaigrette. The steak was done exactly the way his ordered and it was pretty good actually. However the stuffed baked potato was lacking in the stuffed part. I did ask for some extra sour cream which helped out but would have liked to seen a lot more other stuff inside the potato when it came to the table. Our wait person was very friendly and very attentive so no complaints there The restaurant looks clean and organized so no complaints there.

They're rated really high -- actually one of the highest-rated restaurants in Fort Collins -- and from a food perspective I don't really understand why. Sliders with sweet potato fries -- fine, nothing extraordinary. Potato éclairs -- . It was really just mashed potatoes with some topping on it. I honestly didn't even finish it. Mountain oysters -- huge letdown. They came out so overcooked they were basically crunchier than potato chips, with the batter crumbling off. I've never had them before, so I didn't get a good representation of how they're supposed to be -- these were just super-cooked batter. On the space: we ended up sitting in three different spots to eat. We went outside by the street first -- super loud, and people were smoking, so we headed back in. The open spot inside was right under the AC and about forty degrees, so we moved to the back area. The back was fine -- covered -- but pretty dirty, with mop buckets and clutter sitting around. The one drink I had was a good value since we were there at happy hour -- some kind of fruity whiskey drink. It was fine, but nothing I'd seek out again. I hate to give such a friendly place a bad review. It'd be a really great spot if you're a college student who wants some cheap bites and a drink -- but honestly it's just bar food, and the ceiling is probably a 4 on a really good day. I wouldn't get excited to head down there, and parking is a bit of a hassle too. Would recommend only if you're after very cheap eats in that area -- check them out for happy hour. But I would not return.

When we arrived at the complex and pulled into the massive parking lot area, there were about 5 or 6 children riding their bicycles in the lot by the ice cream shop and Farmhouse restaurant. I don't know if they lived in the area or what but it was odd and so we had to park kind of instead of right by the restaurant to avoid hitting them. When two of us walked in, we got there 15 minutes early and were hoping to enjoy a cocktail at the bar before being seated at the table. The bar only has 4 seats and it was full. The host responded, "the cocktail will taste the same at your table as it would at the bar", which came off as kind of arrogant and dismissive. Anyway, we were seated right away upstairs as our table was ready ahead of time. Our table included a bench seat against a brick wall with a few small pillows and 5 chairs. The seating against the wall was quite uncomfortable. When our entire party arrived and we ordered cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I'm giving 3-stars for food because it was hit or miss. Half our group liked their meal and the other half did not. We all agreed the best thing we had from the menu was the tiramisu dessert and I really enjoyed the small garden salad, which was actually a generous portion and I liked the radish included! I also want to say thank you to our waitress for not kicking us out when the restaurant closed, she let us enjoy our time together without making us feel rushed.

We were offered indoor or outdoor seating and we opted for outdoors on this balmy 80-degree evening. Wife N started with a mocktail: Summer Crush. Delicious and we didn't miss the normally included liquors in the spirited version. She ordered a make it yourself burger: just the bun, patty, some ketchup and mayo. Medium. Side of fries. Her way. Burger perfect medium. Fries were crispy, above average. I ordered the Mushroom Avocado burger, also medium. Burger was juicy, flavorful, and the tempura avocados were an interesting twist on the un-fried norm. First couple bites had some crisp but mostly the avocados got soggy halfway through. Not sold on the tempura frying but the sandwich on the whole was great. Got some local draft on the side. Well taken care of, food was great, will return.

We put our name in for a table, but then my husband noticed three adjacent seats at the bar. We popped up there after letting the hostess know we no longer needed a table. My husband and I were up for a good burger. My husband chose the Bomb Diggidy this he paired with a pale ale. A cracked black pepper patty with bleu cheese, arugula, bacon, onion crisps, garlic aioli and buffalo sauce. He chose coleslaw for his side and really liked their recipe. My daughter chose the macaroni and cheese. It had four cheese sauce, cavatappi pasta, tomato, chive, spicy garlic bread. She decided to add bacon. She was happy with her choice. She even had some to take home. I was up for something different tonight. I chose the PBJ burger. A fun creation with peanut butter, bacon, roasted jalapeño, fig spread and cheddar. This was such a fun flavor combination. I had tots as my side. They were crispy outside and tender inside. It all paired well with my pint of Sad Panda. Delish! There is not much sound dampening in this space. When crowded it becomes difficult to hear conversation. There was also a gentleman performing popular songs while accompanying himself on guitar. It all mixed together to be a bit much for me. Our service at the bar was attentive, even with the crowd. Great service, great food, tasty brews.

Saturday evening 7:30 found us in a Moot House booth. For a start we ordered the beet salad. Menu says roasted beets but we think these tasted boiled or steamed. That said, they were perfectly cooked, adorning a mixed green salad. I probably would call this a mixed green salad with beets, rather than a beet salad. Greens made up 80% of it. Still a decent salad. For mains, I ordered their Fish and Chips (2 and 3-piece available) and she ordered the Parmesan Sea Bass. The fish and chips were great, crisp, not greasy, and the shoestring fries were fantastic. Sea bass was tasty, Parmesan crusted and pan seared with charred lemon and capers on it. Yum! In prior visits we've had their wedge salad, Brussels sprouts, Reuben, Caesar salad and a few other items. Some better than others (loved the Brussels!) but all were above average for the price. Usually, the food is good and the service is excellent. Well, today she and I had dinner and I was very disappointed. She had the Pub Steak which is her go to dish, although over cooked, she was pleased. I ordered a medium rare ribeye steak. Unfortunately, the steak was almost well done, not even a hint of pink. I am sure most of us have experienced that at some point. I pointed out the problem to the staff and a 'manager' promptly came out to apologize and offer me a new steak. I accepted the offer and finished my potato while watching my mother enjoy her steak. The manager returned with my recooked steak and asked me to check the doneness while she was there. Guess what, it was still overcooked! I did not want to wait for a third steak, so I be agreed to eat the steak, which was OK but not the juicy medium rare ribeye that I expected for $45. To top it off and the real impetus for writing this review was when the manager suggested that if I want a medium rare steak I should just order it rare. Really? To close, all of the wait staff were great, friendly, and efficient. Maybe the waiter was new, because he said that he was sure he could get a discount on the bill for the trouble. I wasn't fishing for discounts, I just wanted to eat a good steak. Unfortunately, the management did not share his interest in admitting their failure in the kitchen. I will probably try to talk my mother into a different restaurant the next time we go out.
