So we went out to have lunch with some friends here at this establishment and we were seated right away our waitress Jacklyn greeted us took our drink orders: water, Diet Coke two teas and an order of appetizers. We then ordered our meal, it was about 45 minutes later still no main meal we saw so many orders go by us. We stopped Jacklyn she kneeled down and said I owe you an apology I was distracted and I completely forgot to put your order in, I told her that was unacceptable for that to have happened that it took you that long to realize that you forgot to put our order in, I told Jacklyn what discounts are you going to give since you made this error she said I can't give you that but I will let me manager know. Jacklyn came back to our table and apologized again said that she was distracted and just forgot ok so we know you forgot so tell us when we will get our food it won't be long I just put it in, she was supposed to have put it in the very first time she took our order then again when she said she forgot and then tells us after coming back to our table she just put it in it won't be long. Food and service were both OK, could be better. I ordered the sirloin it was made to my liking but it looked more like a fillet. Another thing my food was placed onto a chipped plate. Unfortunately the wings were not well seasoned and were hard. The ranch and blue cheese they came with were like watery and you can just taste how fake and unhealthy it is. The big loaf of bread they give you with butter was so exciting to dive into. But it wasn't good, it was so cheap that it was.. not good bread. And the butter was unsalted. So no flavor. Just bad bread with grease. I got the side Caesar salad because I've been craving a Caesar salad for over a year. What a tragedy. The only good thing about the salad was the croutons. I tried to save the meal by actually getting the chocolate lava cake. The lava is basically hot chocolate syrup, which was fine. The chocolate cake part lacked so much flavor that it somehow took away from the chocolate lava flavor. After a few bites I realized it wasn't even worth the calories, so I paid and left. This was a actually a big deal to me because I'm a very poor girl who decided to give myself the gift of a nice little steakhouse dinner. The over $20 I spent was painful. And so the fact that the food was so disgusting was really a waste for me and a let down. Longhorn is a more casual steakhouse with good food, it's like the steak house of a casual Chili's. One time the food had to be sent back, but when you go at the right time the food can be impressively good. You can tell they put some effort into the decor and it's definitely a southern place to tryout. You can never be sure if the food is gonna be the ultimate best, you're taking a little risk when you go there. This place was a very warm and cozy place. The settings is definitely very good. There was a bit of issue with social distancing, but I understand that every place has their own way of doing things and that guests are always free to leave. The food is a bit expensive for what it's worth, particularly the side dishes. The sides were where I wish they could have improved. I ordered some mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. Yes I know, two carbs, but hey it was my night out. The mashed potatoes seemed like less than a cup, and I'd say a fair serving is at lest 1.5 cups, plus the gravy. The sweet potato was a full sweet potato, but it was a bit dry and overcooked, perhaps it was in the heat lamp too long? Thankfully the butter and brown sugar helped out with that aspect. I didn't go to the bathroom while I was here, so I can't exactly give an opinion on this matter. Would I come back? Maybe, if I really crave it or if a date requests it. Would I recommend it? We had Gavin, and under him was training waitress, Jennifer. Very attentive and our drinks (Pinot noir for mom and I and Shirley temple for my son) arrived within 10 minutes from being seated. In prior visits I have sent it back to have them cook a new steak. Today's steak was not just over cooked to well done but the amount of salt in the steak was overpowering. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. It wasn't even worth the hassle to send it back. The topper was getting the check with no pen to sign so we could leave. There has been a pretty good turnover of staff and that probably has been the cause of the spotty service. Last night we had the opportunity to have Chelsea L. as our server. Chelsea has been at this location for quite some time, and has always been consistent. I wish that all of the servers were 1/2 as good as Chelsea is!!! Last evening was a JOY. Chelsea, while having a number of tables, consistently was aware of our "needs" before we asked her, and was always professional and friendly. What? No more Happy Hour? My wife and I decided to go here for a date night. Been here several times. Usually have had good experiences. However, this visit was much different. We like to have a drink at the bar (and an appetizer) prior to being seated for dinner. We arrived during the normal Happy Hour time, which is still listed on the website. When we asked about the Happy Hour menu we were informed that they no longer had a Happy Hour. When we asked why, the bartender told us that the owners have become greedy. Well, ok then. Also, my wife watched as one of the bartenders scrapped off old food from a wine glass with his thumbnail. Gross to say the least. Onto Dinner - I ordered the usual steak and my wife the Salmon. My steak was ok, a little overcooked, but edible. On the otherhand the salmon came out very very raw. Now, we understand that salmon is usually served medium to medium rare. However, this sucker was still swimming. The server took it back with the comment that she was going to yell at the chef. She must have done just that as the second attempt came out way overcooked. Burnt on the ends and very dry. Not edible. One more thing - It was a Friday night and we are used to them being pretty busy with a wait. This Friday night there was no wait.
