Last visit: I'm sure this place is normally really great but not so much on the night my husband and I went there last week. They just didn't have enough help. It took way too long to be seated. Way to long to get help. The steaks were brought out without the condiments. We asked for them. Wanted them while the steaks and fries were hot but the server was busy joking with other tables. Maybe he knew the other people? Not sure. I finally got up and plucked a bottle of ketchup and a1 off of a dirty table. The salt and pepper shakers on are table were filthy. I don't know if someone with a grubby kid allowed them to play with the shakers but they were sticky and a mess. I will say that the corporate office responded very quickly with an apology and they were very nice. (Yes. I emailed them when I got home. ). We stopped on Friday night after work for an early dinner, so there was no line or wait. There we were met (not greeted) by a VERY RUDE hostess that huffed and puffed when we simply asked if she had a booth available. After several minutes of looking at a chart, she said, right this way. I see several of the recent reviews aren't too good, so let's just say my visit last night was EXCELLENT. We came in around 7pm after driving for approximately 12hrs from SC. Don't take my starvation for desperation or being a pushover - I was straight up 'HANGRY' for the previous 5 hrs & had ZERO patience, so I probably would have lost my mind at the smallest slip up lol. If memory serves, Miranda was our waitress - she rocked. I had unsweet tea, my son coke & my Parental Unit waters. She brought them out immediately with warm bread. I also got a BlackBerry Rita cuz Tues had $4 Rita specials.... it was perfection & needed to soothe my crankiness. Ordered the Ribeye medium rare with Loaded mash and a Cesar .. .Best size and cooked Ribeye I've had in about Two years . There was no wait when we arrived and had called ahead to reserve a table for 12. The place wasn't terribly busy with maybe 6-8 other small tables throughout the restaurant. The food itself was good. A couple of things didn't come out with thier orders. The person to my right didn't get his au jus from his French dip and the person on my left didn't get his loaded mashed potatoes until much later after he had started on his meal. 3 orders would come out at a time with us waiting in between to get the rest. She went in with her husband and they ordered a 9 oz steak to split and the waitress, Patricia B, looked her up and down and said "that's not much food and you look like you could put some food away." My sister has multiple medical conditions that cause her weight that she has been struggling with her whole life and has managed to do well the last few years, the last thing she needed was for a waitress to fat shame her. I understand waitresses wanting to sell more food so as to make a better tip, but my sister always tips as though she has ordered a meal for everyone at the table even if they haven't. I went here not expecting much and got one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. I had one of their signature t-bones, rare. I had so much flavor and they made it just right. The mac & cheese was also very flavorful and is a side I will definitely choose again. As for the baked potato, it was pretty standard but you can tell it had been sitting for a while. I also ordered the prime rib just to try it and that was alright, not something I would order twice, but it wasn't bad. The meal was okay. My partner had the T-Bone and I had the pork chops. The portions were fine. The service was quick and our waitress was attentive. The downside for both of us was the seasonings. Too much salt. The baked potato, pork chops, steak and wing appetizer were all salty. While no one wants their meal to be bland there has to be a balance. Be more conscientious of your many customers suffering from high blood pressure. Let the customer add additional salt to their meal if they want it. A good chef should not rely on salt as the only seasoning to add flavor to a dish. I will eat there again but will request 'light seasoning on my order'. read more

This was one of my worst dining experiences. Took almost an hour to get our food, my ribeye was well done, and I had ordered it medium. The waiter took it back to have it recooked. That took about another half hour, and the manager (Connie?) if that was her literally dropped it off and didn't say a word. Then, it took another half hour to get the check. This was my very last visit to this particular LongHorn Steakhouse because well it was awful. We got there later in the evening 848 and there was a 30 minute wait, which was not a problem. My husband and I love talking to each other and it had been a busy week. This date night visit was fraught with issues 1. On July 4, 2022 at 5pm, my family made dinner reservations at the Longhorn Steak House at 108 Marketplace Drive, Hampton, VA. We understand that staff shortages would cause delays in service. Even with the delays, our server Jewell, was competent, professional, and understanding. She did her best to ensure all seventeen in our party received our drink order, by herself. She also took seventeen food orders, by herself. When my order came, my French Onion Soup was cold, I sent it back and did not reorder the soup. My entree order, Ribeye Steak - medium rare, came out so over cooked, I was unable to cut it. I also did not get my complete order, no baked sweet potato. I told Jewell and she took back the steak and got my order correct. When I received my corrected order, the manager, Jewell told me, literally tossed my meal on the table and walked away. He did not say a word to me or attempt to ask if my order was correct. The steak was cooked so rare the inside was cold. I asked Jewell if I could speak with the manager, twice. He never came out. I waited for approximately 20 minutes. The best advertisement is word of mouth and the worst is also word of mouth. Food quality was below average and nothing to rave about - either too salty or bland. Had a great steak last night that was grilled perfectly. I would suggest asking the ribeye over flame instead of seared*. The waiter was very quick and friendly offering suggestions and tips. I have no issues with the food, it has always been up to expectations. My issues are--why is the bar TV always on CNN during dinner? Why does the bar have peanuts some nights and not on others? And why isn't there a consistent pour on a glass of beer? Are they making a political statement with CNN? If not, why not mix it up left and right leaning stations on different nights? I was very disappointed in the service me and my fiancée received last night. When we were sat we waited for quite a while before the bartender came to our table and she said she was behind because she was the only bartender so we were ok at this point because many places are understaffed. The same section and we noticed he got his drinks, salad and then entree and we hadn't even received our salads yet. I said that's fine but we never even got salads and he's half way through his meal. The young lady returned with a salad that wasn't ours and said that was the only thing on the screen. She never put our order in and then attempted to bring out salads and then say I'm sorry I'm by myself but that's fine and all but you provided service to one guest and not us. We got an offer for a free appetizer so we figured hey why not give it a shot. I ordered a burger medium well and it came out completely burnt to a crisp. (See picture). The bun was also very burned and very stale. I expected more for $11. On top of that.. The fries were hard as a rock. I'm pretty sure they were fried, taken out and then put back in the frier to reheat them. I really hope I'm wrong about that. My wife had the prime rib sandwich and was actually pretty happy with it.
