Service at the Bar Gage the waiter was good and I enjoyed the ambiance. Great throwback music. Coffee and cheesecake for desert. The cheesecake was good. I was disappointed, as was the cheesecake I'm sure the whip cream was canned. But the Carmel drizzle and roasted pecans made up for it. Stopped by here with my wife and son, who is station at Mayport Naval Base. We were having a dual celebration of our anniversary, along with his return from the Middle East. We were seated immediately and Kerri was our server. We received very poor service, even in light of only three tables in the whole place. My wife had hair in her food and I got croutons on my salad, even though I specifically asked for none. I spent $31 for my meal. I picked at the meat and ate around all except 1 bone. I took pictures and decided to come back expecting to be offered a replacement meal. I was not! Went here last week for a pre-movie dinner. I ordered a steak salad, medium rare. When the salad was delivered the steak was situated together and sliced so I dressed my salad and when I mixed everything up I realized just how raw the steak was. I brought it to the servers attention and she actually wanted me to fish out the pieces of steak from my salad so they could cook them more. I told her to take the whole salad and when she brought my second plate it seemed as though the had picked the steak out and recooked it leaving it pretty raw still. I ordered a long pour classic margarita and am fairly certain it was pure sour mix. For the price of the meal I was pretty upset at what we were served. I didn't have time to discuss with a manager before leaving because we had to catch the movie but when I called back the next day to speak to a manager they took a message and never called me back. The steaks are always great here. Service is what to expect at a restaurant that gets busy and stays busy. The lamb chops are simply amazing seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. I really like that if you do not want a salad you can get another side so if the steak is big enough like the porterhouse you can always have a meal for two at nice price. The worst experience I've had in a while. My daughter and I went out today for a movie date. We decided to grab a quick bite between movies. The closest thing to us with decent apps was Longhorn. The manager never stopped by although he walked past us several times knowing we'd been there too long to still be sitting without food, the server didn't come back to refill my drink or anything. I had to ask someone else for a refill. She finally brought her tired behind back 60 seconds after I finally got my food and had the nerve to ask if I'm ready for a box. If looks could kill... I order longhorn's from the Beach location twice a week. Chose this location due to moving and location. The food was cold and Lobster was very overcooked. Main concern was the baked potato that came unseasoned and uncut. When my girlfriend cut into it was completely black in the middle with fungus. I love Longhorn's but a pre set order should be proper and without fungus. We haven't been to Longhorn in a long time. We used a gift card from Christmas and had a very enjoyable evening. It was packed at 6pm last night. They said a 45 minute wait but it was only 30 minutes. We were seated and waited on right away. Service was very good and friendly. We had Margaritas that were good but a little weak. No big deal. I had the Outlaw ribeye with salad and fries. My wife and son had steak and shrimp. My steak was a perfect medium grill. Fries and salad were good. My wife's steak was slightly overcooked. ******Long Post***** I must say that in these times kindness, courtesy, and customer service seem to be a lost art, unless you happen to visit Longhorn at Atlantic Blvd and Kernan. We generally try to avoid restaurants on special days like Valentine's Day as they are always overcrowded and wait times are ridiculous. However we decided to try our luck and I will say we were very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by our waitress Anell who had the most radiant smile and bubbly personality. She was very attentive made sure our drinks remained full and that our meal was to our liking. She took this same approach with every single table that served throughout the night. We noticed that she had several service pins around her collar and upon asking her about them she explained that they were for recognition of outstanding service. We wanted to share with management how amazing her service was and to ensure that she received another pin. We then had the opportunity to meet Dante the store manager who was just as equally pleasant that truly took his time to speak with us. Often time managers in fast paced industries tend to rush their conversations with you; however Dante truly listened and was thankful for our feedback.   Fast forward 3 weeks later after several failed attempts to secure reservations for my daughter's 16th birthday dinner at different venues of her choice, I reached out to Dante. I previously spoke to a hostess days earlier that advised they would not be able to take a reservations, however Dante immediately said "Don't worry I will be glad to take care of you and your family." Dante even went as far as to check the schedule and secure Anell for serving our table. At that moment were at ease and knew that we would have a great meal with exemplary service. What brought utter shock to us was not only was Anell our waitress, but she had candies and bouquet of flowers for my daughter. For someone to take that much pride in their profession and craft and to go above and beyond meant so much. She brought tears to my daughter's eyes. Anell is by far an extraordinary waitress and human being. She truly made our evening special and we left feeling like we gained an additional member of our family.  This isn't just a review but a Huge Thank You to Anell and Dante for making both of our special nights amazing. read more
