[[HIGHLIGHT]]After being sat in the corner booth, at Cowford Chophouse, we could not have had a better view of the entire restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is epic and gives Gotham Bank vibes complete with an impending balcony walkway where the servers line up and look down on the patrons below.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole space has the best energies and happy fun people are employed here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our fantastic server Hedda made sure we knew every detail of the menu on a seasonal, construction of each dish and we were happy to learn. She was perfect and attentive and guided us to this menu. This place is so great. There's not one but two different types of tartare ; Tuna and traditional Steak we opted for the tuna, but next time we will absolutely be back for the more traditional variation of steak. The bread service was a myriad of great options too from soft to hard to crunchy and all served hot. The chicken dish has got to be the largest portion I was ever supplied by in a restaurant setting. It is easily shareable and should remain that size so couples can share it. I was a big fan of the southern hint of ocre found throughout my bed of excellent vegetables and blended potatoes. The wines are beautifully curated and while served cold it was just as good with this meal as they reached room temperature. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a rooftop here not to be ignored with a perfect view of the city from Two sides and happy people work there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They were all so great at making an excellent vodka martini with a twist. We cannot wait to come back and explore the further dimensions of your menu. Thank you for everything Hedda! You're awesome and we look forward to sitting in your section again.

Food is always great. Service is excellent from the rooftop, main dining area and even the bar. PRO TIP: If you do not have a reservation and there are no tables available at that time, you can always eat at the bar which is what we usually do. Servers are amazing and you get a faster cocktail/wine refill.

Still a solid Wow!!! I have not been here in some time but my experience was great!!! Happy hour oysters were fresh and delicious. The bartenders on the rooftop were attentive and great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always nice to have a good experience when you are overlooking the city.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the 16oz with bone marrow butter... incredible and cooked perfectly. Second time here and I would come back every time. Enjoy!!!!

I've been wanting to come try their happy hour for literal years at this point and I'm glad I finally made my way here! 10s across the board for the great service and even better food and drink. The bartender made me the best dirty martini I've ever had where he stuffed the olives with blue cheese! Absolutely to die for! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's also a rooftop where you can sit and enjoy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is 3 stories all together though so there's ample room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped in for happy hour at Cowford Chophouse and I'm already planning my next visit! From the moment I sat down, the atmosphere felt upscale yet inviting -- perfect for winding down after a long day. I ordered the sliders, fries, and bone marrow, and wow. The sliders were perfectly cooked with juicy, flavorful patties tucked inside soft, buttery buns. The fries came out golden, crispy, and seasoned just right -- and yes, I dipped every single one into that rich, tangy ketchup. But the real showstopper? The bone marrow. It was decadent, melt-in-your-mouth, and topped with the perfect amount of seasoning to balance the richness. Pair that with the toasted bread and you've got yourself a little slice of culinary heaven. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and my drink was always full. Everything about this visit felt thoughtful and well-executed. If you're in Jacksonville and looking for a happy hour that delivers on quality, presentation, and flavor, Cowford Chophouse is it

This is my second visit here. Came here last time for my birthday. Be prepared to spend some money. With drinks, appetizers and your meal, our bill for two people was $330. To counter this, this is one of the best steaks I ever had. Everything is delicious, the side dishes are shareable. The onion straws are a good choice and both the asparagus and potato Au Gratin were also a great choice, even the mix drinks were well balanced. The service here is exemplary! Your meal is brought out to every person by a server at the same time and placed in front of you simultaneously. Very classy. The server is always checking and attending to your your table. I will definitely be a return guest, but just on special occasions due to the cost. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Views and service were great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food lacked flavor. We ordered the lobster bisque, cornbread, Cesar salad, steak frites and roasted chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly. Just seemed bland for the value.

Visited this week prior to a concert at the Florida theater, I really would love to leave a better review but I can't. To start, we got there about 6 pm, and wanted to enjoy the roof top... mistake number one! Had to wait about 10 mins to go up, no biggie! I appreciated the wait in their lobby where their staff that was so nice. Got to the roof top and grabbed a table, while the place seemed busy, there were at least 4 people working the area. Sat down and legit waited about 15 mins before calling someone's attention, because no one came to great us or offer menus, I will venture to say staff saw us and pretend it they did not. One lady finally came over, and while waiting on us she was very nice and apologetic, however that does not negate the fact that our drink order took another 10 mins and a reminder to arrive. We actually ordered and asked for everything to be delivered at the same time to avoid further waiting. Well, that didn't work, we awaited at least another 40 mins for food and actually had to ask our server to check on it and give us our check before the food arrived. Food it self was good, drinks were really good, service was ok and wait time was awful! For being an upscale restaurant I would've expected a better experience, specially when there is a show scheduled at the theater down the street, management should be prepared to expect a larger crowd when an event is taking place.

Food was food. First time trying foie gras there nothing special. Lemon drop was good. Waiter/hostesses were nice/helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Had good views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No real complaints

We were going to the Florida Theatre tonight and decided to have dinner here before the show. It was a great decision. The ambiance is great with low dim lighting and a nice classy vibe. The menu offers soups, salads and appetizers, as well as about eight entrees and several steaks. We started with the wedge salad and French onion soup. They both tasted great. For my entree I had the steak frites and absolutely loved it. My husband had the mussels as his entree and really liked it. My daughter had the scallops entree and said it was very good. Service was great from our server, Jonathan.

It was fun to see the fresh caught fish in a display case on the way to order. At the end of our visit I chatted with one of the staff and she was super friendly to this out of towner. I personally had one of the specials - Cobia grilled with teriyaki glaze and mango salsa and fried okra instead of fries. The fish was cooked perfectly, not dried out, the flavor combination was well balanced. The okra was plentiful and, while I prefer cornmeal batter (Cracker Barrel style), this batter was seasoned just right and cooked to a nice golden color. I noticed that even though everything has a fried option, the restaurant didn't smell greasy or fishy. My husband had a fried chicken sandwich that he enjoyed and my nephew had a cheeseburger that looked delicious too. No one walked away hungry or disappointed today. On top of that, the pricing was great. Our waiter was great, but the pacing of the meal could have been smoother since it took about 45 minutes to get our entrees. There were a couple of other notable downsides. The restaurant was quite loud, and to top it all off, a woman at the table right next to us had her shoes off. Management really should have controlled that kind of behavior, as it detracts from the dining experience. Furthermore, despite making reservations to celebrate our anniversary, the restaurant did not acknowledge it at all. That was unfortunate.
