Oddly, i've never been to this chain until this evening. The decor was very nice. Kind of a step up from Texas roadhouse, which is kind of honky-tonk - fine in its own way, but can be really loud. Longhorn is definitely not that, it was quiet and classy. It was a nice place to have dinner. I had the 9 ounce renegade sirloin steak with steamed broccoli and Caesar salad. Pretty basic, but the steak was cooked perfectly for me. I like medium well and it was exactly that just a hint of pink. The taste was really good and the steak was tender. The broccoli was nice and crunchy. The Caesar salad was OK. It wasn't great - a little heavy on the croutons versus salad, but it was OK. The warm loaf of wheat bread was really yummy with melted butter. I liked that a lot. The only downside was I wanted to try the French onion soup: I ordered it but I never received it. I was never charged for it either so it wasn't that big a deal. And I certainly could live without it, but I did want to try it because it is my favorite soup and I tend to try it everywhere I can get it. Granted, my server did make that mistake, but otherwise she was delightful. Really pleasant, professional, checked on me without being overbearing. Kept bringing me more club soda without having to ask for it. So she checked all my boxes. The next time in my travels when I would like a steak and not pay through the schnoz, will look for this chain. read more

RACIST PLACE!!!!!!! My friend, who is Muslim and wears a hijab, was treated with open hostility by our waiter, Dante A. He treated her poorly because of her hijab and even went as far as to write a Bible verse on top of her receipt. This is completely unacceptable and discriminatory. She was there to celebrate her son's first birthday, and instead of making it a joyful occasion, Dante A and made it an upsetting experience. My friend EVEN LEFT A TIP, showing far more grace than the staff deserved. It's disgusting that a place like this allows such behavior to happen. No one should ever be treated differently because of how they look or their faith. The management should seriously reconsider their hiring practices and training. Straight from the get go, the service was terrible, had to ask a different server for silverware when we asked ours twice. We requested straws twice and never received them. Food was extremely cold when we received it and when I asked for a medium rare steak I received a blue rare steak. Fries were cold the wife's food was cold as well, didn't receive separate plates for our appetizer and they took our appetizer before we finished it. Super annoyed. The meals here are your normal chain but my god is everything perfect when you order here. I enjoy how friendly staff is.

Some of the food was good, but in all cases, whether that be the shrimp, fries, chicken tenders, asparagus, or the rice, they were all too salty. If you are looking for high blood pressure at a high cost, with tiny portions of steak, than this place is right for you. But if you want the same effects of over indulging in salt, and larger portions, you can get it for cheaper at red lobster. Also, if you order steamed broccoli for your child to give them something to snack on and keep them occupied, don't expect to get it till you are literally leaving and it is useless. read more

This was an average between my husband and I. He's been here a few times while today was my first. I was going to give 4 and he said 3 so 3 it is but I'll tell you what, I am very happy with my meal today. We got seated quite fast as the place was a bit empty and our server was quick to get us something to drink. For an appetizer, we got the mozzarella stuffed mushrooms. My husband ordered it pretty fast because he knows I like mushrooms and I like anything cheesy. That was delicious. Although the plate was hotter than the mushrooms itself it was nice and warm. I even scraped up all the cheese from the plate. He only had one and I ate all the rest. He knows he married a piggy lol. We both got the Rib eye steak. His had the bone in with fries and I had the boneless with mashed potatoes. My Medium, came out a bit on the medium well side.. I was expecting pink in the middle but I didn't get it. For his rib eye, he wanted medium rare but it was a bit too rare for his liking in certain areas. I know it's pretty hard to get it all around even so I guess some parts were ok. He likes fries so there wasn't much to his sides, after all who can mess it up fries? My mashed potatoes though, that wasn't something I was used to. A big blob of butter melted right in the middle. I had to crate a little path just to drain it out. It was also very thick, again something I'm not used to. Mashed potatoes in Hawaii were nice and fluffy. Overall I'd eat here again. There is slim pickings for good restaurants in the area. It is welcoming to see the chain restaurants for a more familiar feel when visiting. Came in for lunch with a party of 6. We were greeted immediately and taken to our table. Service was prompt and all of the orders were out quickly. We stated with the best of Longhorn sampler app w/ stuffed mushroom, Wild West shrimp, and Firecracker Chicken wraps. Along with the jalapeño Shooters. The table agreed all were very good! For entrees I opted for the Spinach Feta Chicken. The chicken was so tender and juicy. Yummy!! Others ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, Ribeye, Sirloin, and the Burger combo with soup. Second stop at Longhorn this week, very disappointing this time. Again 15 minute wait quote and less to be seated. I was walked past 4 empty and clean booths to a booth in the empty back. Seated near a table with two little girls that let out ear shattering screams. Server not even close to quality of Lindsay (who I saw and she greeted me). Drinks empty twice ( another Server walked by with water pitcher and looked but no offer to fill); appetizer White Cheddar Cheese dip no flavor and barely warm; disappointed when I ordered Prime Rib to later be told out for 30 minutes; salad and Ribeye both good. Manager stopped to ask how dinner was, let him know about cheese dip- offered to take off bill, told him not to worry. I will likely stop again while in Minot 3 more weeks, but will also check other steak options from restaurants. So why did Longhorn in Sioux Falls close? Our neighbors treated us to dinner at Longhorn for taking care of their house while they played in the AZ sunshine this winter. My husband ordered prime rib and I ordered a small steak and shrimp skewers. My meal was delicious and so was the prime rib (my husband has had prime rib a couple of times since and none have measured up.) he keeps saying, "Well, it's not Longhorn's prime rib." I'd give my dinner 4-5 stars. No complaints. Everything was flavorful. Warm bread while you wait. We chose to sit in the bar because there was no wait. Can honestly say I haven't had a better steak in Minot than the Outlaw Ribeye at Longhorn, even at a couple of places downtown that will charge 30-45 for their ribeye. The generous portion of butter that the steak is grilled in and topped with probably has something to do with it, but I don't have any problems with that. The meat always seems pretty good quality even though I don't think there's an official USDA grade on it, but I haven't asked. After having the Porterhouse here, I consider it inferior to the Ribeye and I'm pretty sure the Outlaw is the best quality steak on the menu, although I haven't had the filet. Whenever I eat here, there is almost always the same friendly bartender who is fun to talk with and makes sure the experience is above average. Longhorn is one of the better places in Minot and I look forward to going at least once whenever I'm sent to the city for work. read more

We moved onto the roasted carrots and Parmesan crusted chicken, both were seasoned perfectly. We finished the dining experience with bacon wrapped filet and lobster tail that were also cooked perfectly. I had the Porterhouse for 2 (30oz) with 2 side salads, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The mashed potatoes were deliciously creamy and the green beans were nicely cooked. Only draw back was that their portions are small. The porterhouse is 30oz, but you have to remember that the T-bone takes up some weight too. So actually I ate 24oz of meat.
