On our wedding anniversary (54 years she has put up with me!), took my wife to our favorite steak place. I went online and put us on a dinner wait list, with a comment that we were celebrating our anniversary. Upon arrival, we waited about five minutes, and were seated in a cozy little corner. The hostess greeted and welcomed us then spent a few minutes congratulating us and talking to us. This made us feel very much at home. We ordered the Wild West Shrimp as an appetizer, then talked over the menu. We decided on the Outlaw Ribeye, to split between us. I ordered a Loaded Baked Potato and a salad. My wife added a French Onion soup. We were brought drinks and warm bread, which we immediately tried. Yum. First to arrive was the shrimp. It was hot from the fryer and sprinkled with peppers, with a dipping sauce. There were plenty shrimp, but we were a bit disappointed. Hardly any heat to the pepper, unlike Bang Bang Shrimp we love. So most of the shrimp were set aside to take home. A suggestion - ask the customer how spicy they like and pepper (or even cayenne) it as requested. After a short wait, our server brought my salad and her soup. The salad was cold, crisp and delightful. My wife loved the soup, even let me sample a few bites. An excellent start. Meanwhile we thought the back area was specially for us, but they were very busy, so a group of eight mature ladies were set next to us. They were nice and we chatted a bit. Then our steak and potato came. I divided the steak as fairly as I could, but making sure I had the bone half. I also divided the potato. I sliced into my steak and took a bite. The ladies beside us giggled - I wasn't aware that I moaned a little when I tasted it. It was perfectly seasoned and so good! Now I can make a mean steak but their seasonings were over the top. The potato was also great but I do like to eat the skin but skin was a bit tough, so I only ate the insides. After the main course, we had to have dessert for our anniversary, so we ordered the Chocolate Stampede - I won't say whose favorite it is. But because it came with ice cream, we asked the cake to be packaged to go and ate the ice cream there. Great food, great ambiance, good service. Can't wait to come back. We had a phenomenal experience at Longhorn tonight! It was my father's birthday and they accommodated our entire party (featuring multiple young kids) with finesse. I enjoyed their new Cabernet wine (the long pour was well-priced), and the 6 oz filet (prepped medium rare) + broccoli and Brussel sprouts were perfect for my palate. I appreciated the complementary Sundae dessert that they offered my dad, and they went the extra mile by taking pictures of our party without a single complaint. We waited for an hour didn't even receive our salads. He finally came up to us and said he forgot to put the order lost in translation. Wow..... What a night.... First, I'm not a huge fan of longhorn to start but I was willing to give a them fresh start. They set us in the corner in a small booth for six people. (I'm 6'7" so were were tight) We were cramped from the start. As we were sitting waiting on the rest of our party. Part of the ceiling fell down and hit us. Everybody was apologetic and we ended up moving to another table. The manager ended up paying for one of my friends meals because he was the one who got hit by the ceiling panel. After we moved, we all placed our orders. The appetizers came out first my favorite was the fried onion that they have. It was really good and I enjoyed it very much. Then came my Caesar salad. As I was almost finished, I looked down and noticed that there was a curly black hair in the food. At that point I was kinda over everything. I showed the server and she was extremely nice as well and I'm not sure if the manager took anything off Because my buddy ended up paying the bill for everyone. I get that that happens, but after the ceiling falls on you, you would think nothing else bad could happen. I ordered the sirloin medium, and it was overcooked. It was still good, but it was overcooked, and I have to say the food for the most part was on average OK to bland. Overall, I truly was not impressed with the food. However, the staff was extremely nice and for me that goes a long way. I feel like the staff attempted to make things right and that's really the best that they could do other than not having hair in my salad. Not our first trip to Longhorn, def won't be our last. They have amazing appetizers and steak, love the aesthetic, and their servers are typically top notch. I was a bit disappointed this go around though. First, our food was great as always. Started with side salads (delicious Ranch, almost as good as Chili's!) and the mushroom cap appetizer -- such flavor!!! Our server Jessica was attentive, very personable, made some great drink suggestions for my wife. I got the regular 12 oz ribeye, my wife got the 6 oz sirloin -- both delicious. My ribeye had just the right amount of fat and marbling, no grizzle. My issue was the OTHER servers. We came in close to 9pm, they close at 10pm. Not 15 min in, another server was cleaning a near-by area and put two bottles of cleaner and a rag up on the back of my wife's side of the booth and left them there for several minutes before she returned. Another guy was running the carpet sweep just a few feet away, and I'm floored. It was like the concern was more for getting out of there than the dining experience for your guests. And Longhorn ain't cheap! We fully used two $50 gift cards on this visit that we got for Christmas. The thing that really dulled our experience though, was a server talking with an out of town couple on the other side of our booth wall. They were having a full, loud conversation for no less than 20 min. He actually pulled up a chair. Again, no concern for other diners. Don't get me wrong, you expect conversation in a public restaurant, but this was waiter-level volume, and it was all about family dying and siblings taking advantage of each other etc. Nothing you'd want to hear on an expensive date night out. Decided last minute Sunday late afternoon to visit Longhorn Steakhouse in Palm Harbor FL. Put our names on a waitlist about 5:00 pm and got a response of no wait. Got there about 5:30, and it was packed! Evidently, there were a large number of big parties waiting. Luckily, when I checked in and said we had been wait listed, they had a table for us right away! Yay! We really like this location, along with another location (both franchises owned and managed by same people) in Largo, FL. Both have consistently good service and food. We both ordered the chop steak medium - and sweet potatoes (mine plain - hubby's loaded, and side salads. The meat was cooked perfectly pink with a delicious mushroom gravy. We always each cut the meat and sweet potato in half, and bring home the other half for another meal. The portions are big and gives us another meal! Great food at a good price! They bring the warm bread and butter to the table, which is always tasty while waiting for the main course. The restaurant was slammed, but waitstaff were all pleasant and accommodating. I'm surprised that I've never reviewed LongHorn before since it's less than a mile from our home and we've been her to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, and dinners with no occasion to celebrate at all. We've been coming here for lunch and dinner since it opened, and we've never been disappointed. It's so good here that we had a difficult time finding a parking space at 5:10PM, but we were seated right away by Emily. Terrence was our server tonight. He was as efficient and exceptional as our servers in the past. LongHorn hires quality people! Usually I have the filet - always cooked to perfection - but tonight I opted for soup and salad. Husband got the chopped steak with rice and salad. He usually gets the ribeye or sirloin steaks - also done well every time. Bread and drinks came right away. It was a little noisy inside tonight, so we didn't talk much - looked at our cell phones instead. When our meals came, we put down the phones and ate until we were full and satisfied. We were so eager to eat, that I forgot to take any photos except for my strawberry pecan salad. It was delicious, just like everything else. The only thing that took away from tonight's wonderful dining experience was the noise level - and the unusually loud, screechy child nearby. But that's life. Longhorn never disappoints! We go there at least once a month. The perfect steak at a great price and better tasting than some expensive steakhouses. We have mastered our choices and we always leave happy. This time our awesome waiter Phillip (friendly, attentive, professional, knowledgeable, excellent at what he does) brought us the delicious brussel sprouts as an appetizer. It's charred goodness. We also ordered their mango margarita with was truly delicious, not sour and not overly sweet. I ordered the filet (parmesan crusted) perfectly cooked by Carlos along with asparagus: crispy and on point. My husband ordered the Ribeye with mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The worst part of the experience is we were charged 7.00 for each coors light bottle beer. Think about that - 2 beers cost almost 15.00. This is just fraud. I usually have a great experience at this location, but my last visit felt...off. One of the employees seemed preoccupied, more focused on certain guests than the rest of the room. My chicken was done perfectly and my hubby's steak was tasty and cooked perfectly. We started with Firecracker wrap and enjoyed the bread. Portion sizes were made for the very hungry person.
