Server came to get our drinks didn't introduce himself say hello just what can I get you to drink. When we got silverware finally they were dirty, easy fix we got new silverware. We have frequented here for many years! The last couple times have not been great but this was the nail in the coffin. The server was incredibly slow and not attentive. Extremely poor time management even with 2 hours before closing. We could barely get refills, had to ask for some sauce for our appetizer twice and we didn't even end up getting it until we were already done with our meals. Husband's steak was so thin, it has NEVER been like that. And a bad cut at that. Overall terrible experience and I can say we really probably won't be back. Father's Day 2024 - After a customary 25 minute wait upon opening we sat down out table of 9. Needless to say a steakhouse for a vegetarian is pretty much hopeless at best but it was where the others wanted to go. From sit down to ordering there was a 10 minute wait before a waitstaff came over and said , "I just clocked in. I guess you are my table." Another 5 minutes bread arrived at the table. 10 minutes went by and the staff brought our tea and water. I was one hour before my dinner salad came to the table. We finally got the checked paid after a total of 90 minutes after sitting down. The waitstaff tried but were out of salmon and drinks kind of got filled. The overall problem was poor management. Longhorn steakhouse is your typical chain steak restaurant with cuts of beef that are OK and they're usually cooked within a few degrees of your request. Keep in mind this is not a high-end steak restaurant. It is a chain. That being said the bread is always delicious. It's one of my favorite things at this steakhouse. There are a large variety of appetizers and combination plates so you're sure to find something to please everyone in your group. The food came out relatively quickly and service was good. Unfortunately for us we had a brand new waitress who was maybe two days out of her training and she just seemed a little lost. She wasn't able to offer any opinions on what to get from the menu as she hadn't tried any of them and she wasn't able to help with our drink selection. There was a small hiccup (that was quickly resolved) when two of the meals came out and the third was delayed by about 15 minutes. Overall the food was good. It's been a long while since I hit up a Longhorn Steakhouse. When I saw this one in Temple, I pulled over to try a rib eye. First off, it was 4:40 and service was slow! There were 3 or 4 tables a couple of servers and a bartender. Who eventually acknowledged me, but put in the employees' food orders and a to go order before coming to my booth. The wait for my check was equally long. The price is fine, the portions are huge (what you expect from a Long Horn or Texas Roadhouse type joint), but the flavor was salt. That's it. Salt. And my 12oz ribeye was a good 3-4 oz fat and gristle. Over all, I would not go back. Next time you are on I-35, give this one a pass. read more

Went here on a Friday night for our anniversary dinner. Was told 20-30 minute wait which turned into a quick 5 minutes and we were sitting down already ordering drinks. Food came out fast, hot, and just like we ordered with steak, shrimp, lobster all tasting delicious! Topped it off with some Irish coffees and a strawberry shortcake which was amazing! I ate at the bar and Abraham was the server there. He was completely friendly and provided great service. I really enjoyed the service, the food and the moderately quiet atmosphere. I knew I wanted Salmon and when Abraham realized I was watching my diet he asked if I wanted the rice. He suggested an alternative veggie as a substitute. The salmon was great quality and well prepared. The brocoli was a little buttery but it was florets only-no big stems and pieces typical of casual dining joints. I was quite hesitant to try this place out since I'm so picky with my steak. Nothing more disappointing than a steak that isn't delicious. Longhorn definitely delivered during my visit. From customer service to the food I was impressed. The steak was very flavorful and the sides were as well. Can't give five stars as the steak was a tad salty and I didn't like the gravy on the mashed potatoes. The bread is delicious and was served warm. The margarita was perfection! I'll start with the good: The only thing that was really good was the brisket nachos. That's about where it stops. We had made reservations for our party, and had verified that they had our tables would be ready shortly before we got there because we had a large group. When we arrived we found that they had given our tables to another group who hadn't actually made reservations because they didn't bother to ask the name for the party (the manager told us they failed to ask the name for the party when they sat the other group at our tables), and that it would be an hour and a half before they could accommodate us. The manager did bring out appetizers to the waiting area free of charge as an apology. When you order your steak at any quality steak house, you should be able to choose your specific steak. That was not the case here. They also should know what a Pittsburgh Sear is when cooking steaks; apparently they did NOT know how to do a Pittsburgh Sear even though the waiter pretended to know when I ordered my steak. My wife ordered one of the side salads that was supposed to have fruit including strawberries, feta cheese and pecans on it. When they brought it the salad did not have any of the fruit, so she sent it back. She ended up sending it back twice because it didn't have feta cheese or pecans on it, and they still never included the pecans. As I already mentioned, the steaks were not cooked properly. One of the steaks came out well done instead of medium rare. We told the waitress and she asked if we wanted them cook it some more! There were several other problems too, but these were the worst. Finally to put the cake on top of the entire debacle, when it was time to do the checks the waitresses took almost an hour to sort out the checks because they failed to take the orders according to families even though we suggested it at the beginning to keep the checks in order. Overall, the food wasn't terrible other than the mix ups and their inability to properly cook steaks (kind of a big deal when you are a steak house). The ambiance was nice, but ambiance doesn't not make up for not being able to cook a steak properly according to what is ordered, or having staff who don't actually know anything about steak. So let's start with the elephant in the room...... The "USDA Prime Delmonico" wasn't, it was Choice. I eat LOTS of USDA Prime ribeyes, I know the difference. I eat so many that I buy the whole ribeye and cut/vac-pack them myself. I'm kind of an expert, and I was suspect as soon as I saw the $35 price tag. Called an hour and half before 2/12/22, 5pm arrival. Got there with entire party and waited almost THREE HOURS to be seated. And even then it was at three different tables. Nothing but lame excuses from incompetent manager. Even her employees were making jokes about her. Steaks were under cooked, but after waiting over three hours for food, no one wanted to send them back to get cooked. Overall, they ruined the evening for the event. Tab with drinks was over $500. During the evening of October 28, 2023, at around 4 p.m to 5:30 p.m., I had one of the best experience in a restaurant. I did not have to wait to be seated. After the waitress escorted me to my booth, the waitress and waiter were not hesitant to deliver my requested drink, bread, and dinner. I ordered the outlaw steak with steamed asparagus and mashed potatoes. They all tasted phenomenal. I will drive another 40 minutes just to eat steaks from this particular location. Very disappointed with this restaurant, I took my girlfriend there for her birthday dinner 01/11/2021. We both had (Flo's Filet) mine was cooked to the correct temp, but under seasoned, her steak was over tough/ overcooked, and under seasoned, it actually looked like it had been boiled! We had asparagus and grilled mushrooms which were ok, but again under seasoned! I would have sent her steak back, but she is to concerned with hurting someone's feelings so she didn't tell me about her steak until we were done. My spouse and I had taken a break from the hospital as we have a wee one in the nicu and essentially been staying In town for 3 weeks and just wanted a nice valentines dinner. We knew we had limited chances of getting in anywhere on a Friday valentines at 8pm but we thought we could order takeout and at least have a nice dinner together in our room. We even asked the takeout girl at longhorns if we had everything and about the condiments to double check before we left and she reassured us it was all in the bag. Once we got back to the room though, we found out that all the condiments we asked about were actually not there, no butter for the bread, no cocktail sauce for the fried shrimp, no ketchup for the fries and they had left out my side of steamed asparagus as well. The medium rare steak was rare instead and tough enough to break my plastic fork when I tried to cut it. But that's what I get for ordering a steak with plastic utensils. I just wanted a nice dinner after a very rough few weeKs here in Temple, but I was pretty disappointed. We tried to call and ask about the missing side at least but I ended up on hold for 5 minutes and we just gave up. I just thought I would put this out there in the hopes that maybe they spend a little more time verifying the to go orders before they send them out. This is the only place I will eat a steak besides one I cook at home, they always do great at cooking to the doneness that you want it and they always come out good. Just stopped by for lunch! Ordered a full rack of pork ribs and can honestly say, in my 81 years, I have never eaten ribs with a fork but I did today. The ribs were off the bone delicious and so tender that I only used my fork. I had told the waitress to bring me some extra napkins because my hands would get sauce all over them; she did and I did not use either the towel wipes or the napkin! Great job Longhorn! For the second time, we've waited over an hour for our food. We even came before the dinner rush at 3:30 and still waited for more than 50 minutes just for our salads. We simply asked for boxes and our check by the time our entrees got there 30 minutes later. Even worse, we just ordered chicken tenders and chicken fried chicken.
