Their actions upon our arrival were noteworthy and excellent, and we are happy that we came tonight so we as a first responder I was able to also calm them down and they felt good about that and everyone here is super nice and welcoming and we look forward to coming back again. This review is purely based on the food and manager experience - our waitress was really sweet and had a great personality. I ordered a steak and shrimp entree medium rare, when it came the steak was well done but the wait was about 30-35 minutes and I ate it anyways after acknowledging to the waitress it was way overcooked. When it came to my shrimp I had 8 and about 4 of them were undercooked and visibly raw. I ate what ones I thought looked fine and half way in realized the 3rd or 4th were raw and started to look at the others. I didn't eat them and told the waitress. At the same time my cousin had ordered a steak medium rare and when it came out it was rare and he sent it back. About 15 minutes later his steak came back even MORE rare and the seasoning was so hot from all the pepper it was inedible even if it was cooked right. When the waitress came and I told her about the shrimp and my cousin told her about his steak she said she'd find a manager. One of them came over and instead of offering any kind of solution she just said she'd tell the kitchen staff. I didn't expect a refund on my food since I ate the majority minus a skewer of shrimp but my cousin ate literally none of his meal and no discount or comp was offered up. He later called and spoke to a manager who assured him if he had spoken to HER she would have made it right but... nothing else. I haven't been to LongHorn in close to a decade but had a decent memory of it, after this visit I would never come back. The positives first: Surprisingly fresh and crisp garden salad, and though the raspberry vinaigrette isn't listed as an available dressing on the menu they've got it. The restaurant was quite busy when I visited, but I was surprised at how quickly they were able to turn out my steak and baked potato, only a few brief moments after I'd cleared the salad bowl of food. I ordered a medium-rare steak and that's indeed how it came out. But there were also a few weak points: On at least three separate occasions the individual taking my order had to come back and ask again what I wanted. If your short term memory isn't all that great, how about just writing down the order? And it wasn't just the main order either. I had to repeat my drink order. I got asked twice if I wanted bread. These weren't instances where another patron or staff member interrupted the server's work either. He just couldn't seem to keep simple information on his mind, even mere seconds after he first collected it. There was also a substantial delay between getting seated and being addressed by the waitstaff. This was also the saltiest steak I've ever ate. Still edible but disappointing. There's a Texas Roadhouse not all that far away, and the results I've received there are just better than what Longhorn offers -- including the value. read more

We constantly have a positive dining experience at this location. Excellent service and well maintained facility. Today I ordered the $10.99 lunch special which was the lobster and shrimp soup with grilled chicken and berries salad. It was absolutely superb! The.soup had a great flavor and it was served steaming hot. The salad was so flavorful with the feta cheese, grapes, mandarin oranges, strawberries, and grilled chicken. I'll start by saying the food was delicious!! 2 of us had the ribeye with loaded baked potatoes and Ceasar salad. The steaks were perfectly cooked, the potatoes were hot and fresh (nobody likes an old baked potato), and the salads were cold and fresh. The ceasar dressing was the best I've ever had. 1 got the filet with mashed potatoes and broccoli. His steak was also perfectly cooked. 1 got a loaded baked potato and a dinner salad. The dinner salad was large and was visually appealing. He said it was delicious. Our server was excellent!! Couldn't have asked for better!! Hate I can't remember her name. The guy at the front desk was friendly and efficient. The guy seating people though was quite the smarta** though and I told him so. If someone at work called me a smarta**, I'd apologize profusely. He simply laughed. One other thing that bothered me was dozens of people were waiting up front, yet there were empty tables and booths everywhere. The place wasn't even close to being packed. Also, there are only 3 handicapped parking spots. One of our guests is in a wheelchair, but we had to park in an adjacent parking lot because the entire lot was full. So, the 2 stars I deducted are for the smarta** seater, the fact so many people were waiting even though they had many empty tables, and the lack of sufficient handicapped parking. Well, this has always been my go to for a good lunch and I have been there dozens of times. However, today's lunch left a lot to be desired. They normally have a great steak-burger and great french onion soup for a great price. But the burger was mediocre, and lukewarm, snd the same for the soup. I suspect they sat in the kitchen for a while since the service was REALLY slow. So if you go this route, ask for the soup first. I'll give them one more try before I write them off. read more

Had not been to Longhorn in a good while but had a very pleasant experience, not in small part thanks to our server, Zee, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. She got us off to a good start by immediately bringing bread to the table, accompanied by regular butter and cinnamon butter. My husband and I both ordered the filet and both were very nicely cooked, very tender. The last time I had a filet was at a high end steakhouse and this one was better! This is a solid steakhouse chain that does a number of things well, not just steaks, not just beef! In fact my two favorites here is their Seasoned Wings (pricey at $12.49) and the Crispy Buttermilk Sandwich ($8.99) - comes with a side. My drink and the bread service were soon on the table. The wings were out quickly, a beautiful brown, perfectly cooked and attractively plated. There were 8 wings, evenly split between drums and flats. They were accompanied by a blue cheese dressing and a cayenne pepper sauce with a very nice vinegar hook. The chicken filet was nicely sized, around 8 ounces, and perfectly cooked. This is a really nice sandwich, one of the better such sandwich from a national chains - I consider it better overall than the much praised one at Popeyes, and as good a value as it is twice the size! This is a relaxing, comfortable place to enjoy a lunch meal. Longhorn food is amazing! I can eat this every single day if I wanted to. My favorite meal is a 6oz sirloin with either the 8ct shrimp or a lobster with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The broccoli here is top tier. They pair it with a veggie butter that gives off a char taste. The lighting is amazing. It's more of a dim that makes the ambiance romantic. We went the night before mother's day, so it was busy and we decided to wait a while for a table. We liked the atmosphere and decor of the place. The service was good our waitress was nice and checked on us regularly. All the food was good and fresh, i really enjoyed my new york strip. Overall good experience. Only one complaint was that my brothers ribeye was pure fat, and for the price you pay for a steak nowadays, it just kinda sucked that he couldn't eat half his steak because it was the bad part. So I'm just gonna say, don't go here. So It was a party of 9 that I've brought here (for my birthday) but everyone wasn't there yet. So the person in the front said "I can't sit you guys until everyone is here" so we were like "ok that's fine". So everyone gets there and the person in the front said it will be a 45 minute wait. So we go back in there after 45 minutes and then the person in the front was like "oh even though everyone is here it'll still be a 5 minute-1 hour wait" so there was these guys who were here after us and mind you their party was bigger than us & they got seated after waiting I guess 20 minutes. I can't even tell you the last time I went to a LongHorn because I try to frequent local business every chance I get. We had a gift card and decided to try Longhorn for dinner recently. We actually really enjoyed it! I ordered the salmon which had a beautifully crispy crust on top and was not overly cooked at all. The salmon was flavorful, juicy and served on top of rice pilaf. The steamed broccoli was also very flavorful, much to my surprise! I did add salt/pepper and there was a citrus butter flavor on the broccoli that went very well with the salmon. Trevor liked his Ribeye and finished the whole thing. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare with a good sear on all sides. Both our entrees came with a starter salad that was fresh and crispy. I want to first state that the waitress we had was awesome this in no way shape or form is about her. We decided to go out on the Saturday before Mothers Day to beat the Mothers Day rush according to us. However, the steakhouse we wanted to go to was extremely busy & so we ended up here. As we were seated, beneath our table had not been swept, so bad to the point that the prior parties napkin was still on the floor, a cloth whole big napkin (pretty noticeable)! I was hungry, the table itself was clean so we didn't complain. The meals themselves were pretty good with the exception of my son's meal. He got the ribeye with the loaded baked potato & about 35-40% of it was fat. Not marbleized fat like it should be in a ribeye but all to one side. So much to the point that I had to give my son some of my meat. I don't like to complain & I am certainly not looking for a free meal!! However, when I showed the waitress @ the end of the meal & she went & told the manager & his response via the waitress was well that's what you get when you order a ribeye! I was a bit insulted, I mean like I said I know you should expect marbleized fat but not that much & not all in one spot. It was also insulting, that he couldn't even take a moment out & apologize himself, like I said I'm not here for a free meal! The soup we had, had like 2 mini salad shrimp in it & I don't think we ever found anything remote to lobster in it. I've had a better soups purchased from Sam's club for less money. The shrimp appetizer was really delicious, and a very good amount for the price. My margarita was more ice than anything, my son made fun of me, that I had it in 2 sips. The second drink Jack n Coke was better. All and all, the service from our waitress was great, the management was horrible. The cleanliness was bad, and the food was just good. Winston Salem location on Hanes Mall Blvd the servers were late...2-3 servers were late. The Hostess needs to be retrained for professionalism. The Manager didn't handle the late issue very well in front of everyone. A party of 10 complained & waljed out. The next party of 6 was taken to the back of the bar & the customer was upset. We had to sit in the bar. That makes the 4th time in thw bar bc the Restaurant as a whole is not ready to serve the public when people are late. Our Server seems exhausted. Walked in at 1:30 PM, hardly any customers inside, was seated quickly and ordered taken with tea and bread served within 10 minute. Steak house has a heath rating of 93. I was served my salad 2:00 PM, steak, potato and Brussels sprouts arrived at 2:40, service was extremely slow, likely due to kitchen staff. The food was excellent with the steak cooked to perfection. My biggest complaint was wait time and seeing the floor dirty, carpet not vacuumed, consistent throughout the restaurant. the men's restroom was also nasty.walking down the hallway you could see into the kitchen where one cook was at the grill. The hallway was plum dirty including the floor of the kitchen. The food was good but in my opinion the place was dirty. I've eaten here a number of times but have never seen service this bad nor the place this dirty. Glad I couldn't go into the kitchen. read more

I'm normally a "support local / no chains" kinda guy. Last night we were at Costco and we had a gift card so we figured why not give it a shot. I was blown away with the food and service. We sat at the bar and the tender (David I think) was awesome. He was funny and engaging and clearly happy to be working there. For drinks I had a Longhorn house blonde and a Wiseman double IPA. It was nice to see some locals on tap. My wife had a sangria...it was huge for the price, but a little too sweet for her. The food won the day. Forgive me locals...that may have been the best Mac and Cheese in town! We also tried the French onion soup (very good!), a great ribeye sandwich, awesome Parmesan coated chicken, and some fries. My husband and I went there the evening of July 3. Not a good sign when there is an overflowing garbage can at the hostess stand. I peaked over the half wall into the bar area and many tables were not bussed. I gave our name ( even though I was question g myself as to was this a good idea)and they said 15-20 min. There were plenty of tables. Several other couples came in as we waited. Finally, a couple that came in after us got up and left. We had been waiting almost 25 min at that point. ( Several waitresses chatting but no one seating anyone). We got up and left and another couple followed us. We had been there previously and it did not take long to be seated or look sloppy. The service was amazing! Our waitress, Autumn, was super welcoming and friendly. We had some very amazing conversations and would go back just to talk with her. The food was delicious. There was an issue with the order, so our food took a while to arrive to our table, but we got a 25% discount for the inconvenience and the staff were very supportive and friendly. They even offered us dessert on the house for the inconvenience, but we were too full to accept. Overall, I recommend it to anyone looking for good vibes at a restaurant! read more

I have to say I was shocked at the experience we had at this Longhorn as we have eaten here several times in the past. I am handicapped and my husband it awaiting knee replacement surgery and we asked for a table. The person who seated us didn't appear to want to seat us at a table and only offered a half booth and table. So we accepted that reluctantly. The bar tender was our waiter for some reason and promptly came and took out order. 37 minutes later we still did not have our appetizer or salads. The bar tender continuously talked to a couple who were eating at the bar. A couple that had been seated after us had already gotten their appetizer, salad and entree before we even got our appetizer. So I asked an employee walking by if she could check on our food. She was rude but brought our salads out in a few minutes and said your appetizer will be out in 10 minutes. I told her to just forget the appetizer. No point in getting it now. She whisked away and wouldn't even let me finish my sentence. We received our entrees in about 10-15 minutes. The manager brought out our food. No apology or anything for the wait. Only asked if we would like steak sauce. That was the single worst steak I think I have ever had anywhere. I ordered it medium - it was completely raw (blue) on one end and medium on the other end. We ordered New York strip. Both steaks were full of gristle and it was difficult to cut. I ended up taking over half of my steak to our dog. The bar tender waiter didn't come back to our table until we were finished with the meal and offered a doggie bag. It's just so disappointing to pay $63 for a meal and be this disatisfied. The salad was cold and fresh and the blue cheese dressing is delicious. I ordered the Flo filet and it was cooked correctly. The only complaint I have is the amount of salt they use on the baked potatoes and the steak. Most high quality food doesn't need to have excess salt so that is a turn off for me. A good steakhouse with somewhat comfortable prices. The steaks are good but can be hit or miss at times. For the most part they get it right. Service is usually very good but lately it's been slower than normal due to a shortage of staff. The staff that is there is working there butts off to make it all work. They automatically start you off with a small loaf of bread and butter on a small carving board. Good choice of appetizers but steaks will fill you up so you should probably skip unless you plan on taking some of your steak home. If you do, I would definitely go with the stuffed Mushrooms, hot and cheesey, you will love them. Nice place for a dinner date or a solo steak & beer night. read more

The last time we ate here the stake was raw . I told the waitress med. Couldn't find the waiter had to get the manager. When the waitress finally came it was 15 minutes later. Then we could never find her for refills. Then when we wanted to get our bill she was no wear to be found. Had to get the manager again. The manager took the bill. We told the manager we are fed up because of the service. The manager never even made it right. any other restaurant would give you a free meal or make it right some how.
