Checking out the one star reviews they are from people I wouldn't want to drink with anyway! It's not a family atmosphere, it's a bar. If you go to a "biker bar" and make COVID masking complaints you're the problem. This is the type of bar that any adult without an attitude can enjoy. A little late in posting this. Had to check this place our prior to a concert at the Pavilion. Always a fan of local dive bars and this place did not disappoint! Scored a couple of seats at the bar, grabbed a couple of brews and ordered their BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger with fries and an order of their Sweet Heat wings. Monster burger patty cooked to order (medium rare), tangy BBQ sauce, crisp bacon and melty chedda...really hit the spot. Fries were hot, crispy out, soft in. Nice. Wings were cooked perfectly with just a bit of a sweet kick. Not overly sauced ( a couple of wings are missing...fast hands!!). Great stop if you're in the area for a show or coming off the lake. We had THE best experience at this great little locals hangout! We live on the other side of the lake, but we frequent this area & decided to swing in for a beer and a burger last week. It's a small place with standing room only if you're anywhere near the happy hour timeframe, but it was worth the wait. We met some super nice folks: one couple kindly shared their table with us; another couple from MA who are regular visitors & were fun bar mates; another couple who were service members (we thanked them for their service and really enjoyed their perspective on things!); and, last but not least, a couple who, on finding it was our first visit while waiting for our table, secretively bought our first round of drinks! We had no idea until we ordered our 2nd round, when the bartender told us and the couple were already in their car and leaving. I ran outside and yelled out a thank you & also left them a note on a napkin, which I do hope they received - their kindness really moved us, just another reason I love New Hampshire so much, this is where the good people are! The food was delish - highly recommend the homemade onion rings, the cheeseburger wrap, and the wings! Always a blast at the bin. Great bar food. Burgers and burger club delicious and always cooked to your liking. Rueben is great. Staff is awesom, not invasive like some. A great place to get a nice adult beverage in a re-done bar. Unfortunately, a couple of years ago some idiot hit a car and sent it into the bin wrecking the whole front of it. Shut down for over 6 months because of rebuilding. During that time regular patrons held fund raisers so the staff recieved a paycheck to get by. I love a good bar. This is definitely the town's watering hole. We got a fabulous welcome from the bartender and locals. Only 4 tables and the rest of chairs at the bar. Decor is humorous and to the point. Bathroom is male/female and very clean. Tater tots had cheese and bacon and are on point. We ordered jalapeño slices and came with your choice of dressing which I picked ranch. Some of those jalapeños had some kick. If you're in the area and want a short stop with fabulous locals and a quick drink I highly recommend coming here. read more

Amy was exceedingly friendly, and her personality made it perfectly okay that she couldn't take our orders immediately. She was the solo bartender & server inside (& she did some outside as well).   We sat inside at the last available table. Décor was simple and comfortable and funny. Raunchy but perfect for the vibe. Not a big place. Outdoor seating seemed much more expansive and had live music.   Did I mention that Amy is adorable? She's a gem. I've never met her before, but she makes me want to be a regular. We were unable to eat in Laconia since everything was closed. A local told us about the Looney Bin. It's a small bar/pub with tons of personality crammed into a small space. Six of us ate everything from huge burgers and hot dogs to great sandwiches (BLT was fabulous!). There were plenty of locals, but we were warmly received, and the servers make sure everything is perfect. It is easily overlooked on the highway, but it is such a fun place and will probably be one of the highlights of your trip! read more

We recently spent the day in the Lake Winnipesaukee area, and needed to find a lunch spot. We decided to trust our fellow Yelpers and headed to the Looney Bin. The place is small and it was packed with locals and those that have summer homes in the area. We sat at the bar and struck up a conversation with another couple. They live in MA but own a restaurant nearby, so we felt confident the Looney Bin was a smart choice. Anna (?) was working as the bartender and server. We were impressed with her ability to manage everyone at the bar and the seating areas both inside and outside. She was awesome! Michelle, the owner, was also present helping out and talking with the customers. Its awesome to have the owner on sight and hear her story of becoming involved with the restaurant business. The selection of local craft beers is impressive. The various postings on the wall and shot selection gave us something to read and kept us occupied as we waited for our food. We shared a half portion of chicken nachos and a cup of chili. The food was freshly made, hot and delicious. This is an excellent and well run local business that we will certainly visit again when in the Lake Winnipesaukee area. read more

Yes, it's a biker bar. And yes, the food is delicious! We visited Looney Bin to try the wings--so many people have commented on them. We tried both the Parmesan and the Hot/Sweet, and both were cooked to perfection and delicious. My husband had the HUGE burger, and I had the Reuben. Again, both were fabulous. The tater tots side (hubby had them with cheese and bacon) put the food over the top! Lots of beer on tap, lots of raucous and fun people. It's a great little place that has both a local and biker following. But don't let that scare you away...it's worth visiting and trying their wonderful food. We'll be back! read more

What a god awful way to run a business. After waiting 30 minutes longer for my food than the waitress told us it would take, I was called an "***hole" to my face for mentioning that. The same waitress flipped me off as I left. Not a single employee had their masks above their noses. Patrons were freely walking around without masks. NH.gov has a very helpful page on how to report failing businesses. Looks like someone's getting a report. read more

She was uncomfortable serving us because we had out of state IDs (this was Memorial Day weekend trip with of age girls at a popular vacation spot). My group stopped by the Looney Bin after a day of topsnuF at Funspot, hoping to get a quick bite to eat. The minute we walked in the record screeched. "You aint from 'round here, are yous?" No, it wasn't really like that, but it could have been. The Looney Bin is definitely a Biker Bar, but the safe kind where tourists pop into every so often. The walls are peppered with black and white bumper stickers with cheeky little slogans like "if you can see this, the bitch fell off." The staff was very friendly, patient and helpful, but the place was packed, and we really needed a sit-down nosh. The beer selection is pretty good (Sam Adams, Harpoon, some NH regional breweries) and there's a Kid Rock endorsed whiskey somewhere in there (at least there's a banner for it). If I were in the mood for some excitement during a long-ish, quiet NH vacation - I'd definitely hit up the Looney Bin. This place is laid back and FUN. We stopped in for a quick lunch before heading back after a romantic trip up north. It's dubbed a biker bar and that's just what it is. The funny signs and bumper stickers all over the place lend to the humorous and easy going feel. The bartender was fantastic. Fun to talk to and made you feel like you were just hanging out with a friend who happened to make ridonkulously good drinks. We ordered the bloody mary and it was so good. Just what I was looking for. While sitting there we looked through their specialty shots menu and we declared that we HAD to try at least ONE. Both shots we tried were super good (and I understand why they limit how many you can order at once!)! I ordered just a basic chicken finger basket and it was delicious. Husband ordered a Reuben, I believe, and he was just as happy. All in all, this is a great place to go. The sign outside says "warm beer and lousy food". But it lies. They have pretty good eats, I can vouch for the bacon cheeseburger and my girl's meatball sandwich (she likes balls). Also some tasty microbrews on tap and a vast selection of hard stuff. They have a menu of 75 or so custom shots, but also a sign stating that they will cut you off at five shots (or earlier at bartender's discretion). I went to Funspot across the street this past Saturday and I did not care what they had to offer. So, I decided to walk across the street to this place and check out what they had to offer. Although I was not immediately greeted when I walked through the door, it turns out the service here is actually pretty good. The service model is just different from a typical restaurant. You basically seat yourself and to get service, you actually have to go up to the bar, ask for a menu, and then order there. If you are exceptionally lazy, this place is not for you. I can assure you that the quality of the food here is well worth the effort. read more

Fantastic experience! Everyone has mentioned the ambiance, which is super entertaining, but the food was also very very good. Everything came out beyond HOT! It is true, the chicken wings are simply perfection. Anna Maria was bartending and waiting on all the tables. Every seat was full but there was not a single hiccup. She is top notch, an expert Multi-Tasker. The steak tip sub was yummy, onion rings big and crunchy and the pasta salad was their own. Cheeseburger club was great. Definitely do not miss this place. One place for improvement is the sour mix, but after the first margarita it didn't matter. Shots were fun and the ones we tried tasted great. This is a great spot! No frills and a really nice bar. It is a "biker bar" but the staff and other patrons are insanely nice, there is a great drink selection and a fun shot list with hilarious names. The wings were AMAZING. The Parmesan Garlic and Sweet Heat were so tasty! The stickers and signs around the bar kept us all giggling through our visit as well. Had a great time here with my boyfriend the other night, before going to a drive in movie! This was a VERY small biker bar. Which we love. We both have our motorcycle licenses, but are too young and poor to own bikes at the moment. We were there on the day of a wing special. 40 cent wings baby! We got 12 wings each, as well as splitting a Pumpkin head ale! YES! They even put cinnamon sugar on the rim! The wings were killer! Sauce was great! Wings were nice and meaty. I highly recommend going on wing night. .....This comment I am about to make does not reflect how I feel about the restaurant. But I feel like sharing this experience. When i was eating dinner with my boyfriend we heard this group of middle aged men and young men behind us talking very loudly with racist undertones. The N word was dropped numerous times and made me furious. I needed to stop myself and remember what some people have told me about up there in NH.... that it is primarily Caucasian... and that kind of talk out loud in a busy restaurant might not be too uncommon.... as annoying and upset as I got... i just ignored it.
