Food was delicious, service was good. I prefer self serve with no extra cost though. We weren't really prepared these prices and tip too, usually, we don't go anywhere expensive without expecting to tip, but we did the breakfast plan and there was no cost to tip based upon. The next day, we paid for our family (same size) based off of our dinner credits that we weren't going to use because we were going out to eat every dinner every night nearby instead and the meal was $65 +$20 tip since that was an option now and I felt guilty not tipping the day before. That probably still makes me cheap, but as yummy as this is, so is whataburger. I wished we'd have skipped the breakfast plan and went out for breakfast. If it was just us and the breakfast plan, it would be ok. If half your family does it, it just makes it awkward. While the food is delicious, I would not normally pay these prices for the food and the service. If you're staying, the breakfast plan is a great deal. If your staying w family, get on the same page before purchasing it. Eating out might be in the best benefit of most depending on family makeup and who and who doesn't want breakfast regularly. read more

The food is just bland definitely need to add salt and pepper because there's no taste. They do have a wide selection of food, fruit, and pastries. The good: quick to be seated, quick to be greeted and brought a drink, the kiddos we're entertained by the breakfast entertainment, be the staff was friendly, there is an okay diversity of options. The bad: the buffet moved slowly and everyone made one very long line to move through all the stations, the food was definitely not worth the price, it's hotel buffet food. Absolutely terrible. We had to yell at each other to be heard over the show going on next door. With COVID a buffet is going to be different but even the options available were slim. The convenience of this restaurant is really the only good thing, unfortunately that's the only good thing. We bought the breakfast package while staying at the the resort, but the food was cold frequently, the tables were sticky, and the coffee was ick. The pancakes were dry, and I tried to have an open mind at how busy they were, but truly inedible in my opinion. The eggs were mushy, and all the pastries were dry. Rooms are so expensive, you would think the food for the buffet would be better. There food is worse than hospital food. No flavor or taste. The best thing on the menu was the minestrone soup. Love our GWL! Some say the breakfast is not great...we, on the other hand, love it. It's a highlight to GWL trips.

My family and I have been to the lodge and restaurant several times and we have never been disappointed. There is always great menu items on the buffet and their service is really good. We have always been there with 10 plus adults and kids and they have done great each time waiting our tables. The characters come out for the kids during each meal and makes it special for them while eating. I would highly recommend eating here during your stay at the hotel. read more

Crazy overpriced, which you expect from a place inside a hotel. I can overlook that part except that the food is just bad. They kept running out of plates and then there were multiple plates that were dirty. For the dinner buffet, the lemon rosemary potatoes were rubbery. The rest of the dinner items were subpar, even the kid friendly ones like the tater tots. The breakfast buffet is better than the dinner buffet, but still not good. Same issue with running out of plates plus they were also running out of food for breakfast. Long waits for bacon, pancakes, etc. The omelet station is the only redeeming factor about this place. read more

Very accommodating during Covid-19, there are dividers between booths, hand sanitizer stations, arrows and place markers on the floor, mask requirements, and they practice social distancing. We stayed at Wolfs Lodge and purchased the family meal pass in which you could use at various restaurants and snack bars. Out of the two sit down restaurants however Loose Moose Cottage received 3 stars on yelp vs 2 stars on yelp for the Fired Grill. So we went to Loose Moose Cottage for dinner. It was 25.00 per person. The food choices were dismal at best and one whole section was a nacho bar WITHOUT chips or even tortillas. And no ground beef. Chips are pretty critical for a nacho bar. So they had nacho cheese, salsa, avocado, sour cream but nothing to put those on??? We inquired about chips they said sorry we are all out. The prime rib was not stocked and all my husband could get was one fatty slab. Rolls were stale and hard as a rock. And if you are allergic to chicken well you just could not eat!! I paid 25.00 for a house salad with only two dressing choices. Blue cheese and ranch. My husband got sick that night from eating a slither of fatty prime rib. The whole experience was awful. Drinks were not refilled and when you wanted them filled it was "will be back in a moment" and no one would come back. In addition our server complained to us that people were just leaving and not tipping her. But bad for us for choosing there--we would have been better not getting the meal pass and just going off site. The meal pass was a no win for us. Maybe they never are. I wrote a review on Wolf Lodge survey, with issues with the buffet, along with some other issues (our check in time was delayed due to housekeeping, and electricity went out while we were at pool, then an emergency broadcast continued to play for an hour the following day, and just on and on) but the food could have made the difference--you never know. I just got back an email back from Alicia Seymour guest relations basically just stating "do hope you give us a second chance and stay with us in the future if your travels bring you back" No Alicia, don't think I will. Great bfast buffet. We came around 1045am, near closing. Lines were long, but were seated promptly. We pre purchased the wolf wake up breakfast which was a good choice. Includes buffet, drink, and tip, way cheaper than regular price. Wide range of bfast options. Also with diff stations- omelette, waffle, bfast tacos... food is fresh, new batch being made every time. Really?? This "restaurant" operates in a resort? Adults will pay $20 a head plus drinks. What will that get you off the buffet line? Room temperature fajita meat, corn on the cob that has been left under the heat lamps for who knows how long, fruit that sits at the salad bar with fruit flies swarming all around, and the WORST soda we ever tasted. How do you mess up Coca Cola products? Inexcusable. The corn on the cob's kernels were sunken in like all the moisture had been cooked out of each kernel. The tortillas were store bought. They were rubbery. The cooked broccoli was rubbery and not fresh at all. None of the food seemed fresh. Golden Corral makes The Loose Moose look like a high school cafeteria.
