I love the Texas decor. They have a spacious dining area. Parking was also very easy since it's in a private lot shared with other businesses. The kiddos had a great time running around Jungle Castle next door, and then eating brunch right after. They had enough high chairs to accommodate our three toddlers. We came in around 11am; and were provided both a breakfast and lunch menu. The portions were generous and price was affordable. I enjoyed my classic benedict. My son enjoyed the fries that were super crunchy. The side of fruits could use a little more strawberries. Everyone was chowing down without any issues. We appreciate that they were able to split the group bill readily. I'll drop a few suggested improvements. I called around 7:30am to make a reservation for a party of 8. When we arrived at the reserved time, they seemed surprise to see us and had to quickly assemble the tables/chairs together - luckily there were plenty of room to make a quick last minute arrangement. My friend and I also ordered a side of fries, but instead received double fruits as our sides. Overall, this place is a great restaurant to dine in and have a hearty meal. Came by for breakfast again... 7x now since they opened. Ordered AARON'S BURRITO, Jumbo flour tortilla stuffed with two eggs, three veggies of your choice and two meats. Served with one lunch side. Burrito was really big and surprisingly not as dry as most burritos can be depending on how you cook it. It was very tasty. I'd order it again. As well as, Harvest Omelet. When you are looking for a great Texas breakfast or lunch, this is the place. I've been here twice and gotten the Harvest Omelette each time - hold the tomatoes and slap down some jalapeños. The omelettes have been impressive- both in quantity and quality. The sides are also delicious. The service is good and the coffee is hot! And you can take your picture on a throne in the corner. Service was very slow from the start. When I arrived, there was a customer ahead of me waiting to order takeout. From his expression, he was waiting for a while. After several minutes, a waitress finally came to the front to take his order and sit me. Initially, she wanted to sit me at a small table closest to the front. Due to the cold, windy morning, I requested to be seated elsewhere. I was okay being seated at the far corner. It took sometime to get my coffee. That allowed me to leisurely browse the menu. Because coffee was bolder than what other restaurants serve, it had more flavor. There were grinds on the bottom of the cup. As expected, I did not get a refill until my food was served. I ended up ordering a classic waffle. In the past, an order of a waffle would be served with butter and syrup. This waffle was served only with syrup. I did not expect maple syrup, but the concoction had an unappealing sticky look. The waffle itself was light, fluffy and very fulfilling. Being served with two eggs and sausage patties was too much food. Unlike their pancake combos, there was no option to get only one egg and patty. read more

Unbelievable bad everything. I had made a reservation for 12 people, and the only good news I can share is that they did have a table set up for us. Then everything went downhill. The waitress was trying so hard but frankly she should be waiting on a table of one - that was her limit on remembering things. She would take an order for a glass of water, leave, return with the water - and now repeat this 12 times. She would even offer a curt "I'll get to you later" if someone attempted to interrupt her with a request that bothered her. We sat, and sat, and sat. She had disappeared. I finally located a manager and asked her to please find our waitress. The waitress finally reappeared and 15 minutes later she had 12 food orders entered into her order pad. OMG. Then 30 minutes go by before the first dish arrives, followed by 11 more straggling one at a time. One order was missing. The waitress seemed flummoxed. Back to the kitchen and 10 minutes later the last plate comes out. When the last plate did arrive our waitress simply disappeared. Getting our bills was painful. We all sat there another 15 minutes before our waitress appeared and handing out the bills. Then two at a time she would leave and ring them up - now repeat this 6 more times. So far bad everything (sorry, no matter how good the food was, it was offset by the bad service and attitude of the waitress. What realllllllllllllllllllllllly irked us was that when a manager was informed of how bad this was, our message was met with a shrug of the shoulders - no apology. "It happens" was the reply. And to rub salt into the wound they had the audacity to tack on 20% gratuity. If you have a choice of breakfast places, run far, far away from this place. They used to be so good, and are now at the bottom of the well. read more

I can't believe this hidden gem was right around the corner! The service was exceptional, the pumpkin caramel and butter pecan lattes were amazing (thank you, Kaitlin), the food was amazing, and the prices were very reasonable. I ordered the Western omelet with grits - some of the best grits I've ever eaten, which is saying a lot for a Southern girl. My husband had the Wagon Wheel and there are no words to describe how good that cinnamon roll was. We will definitely be back! read more

Stopped in for breakfast around 9:30 am on a weekday. Wasn't very crowded and the service was much better than what I've read in other reviews. Very prompt and attentive. I had the basic scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast breakfast. The quality of the food was good and the quantity was what I expected. We ordered the fish and chips for lunch. The fish was burnt to a crisp. When the waitress picked up the order she should have seen that it was overcooked. This is the first time that I have had a bad entree at this restaurant. And yes we returned it and yes we were comped for it and the waitress asked if wanted anything else from the menu but we were turned off so we didn't order anything else. I hope that the cook was aware of this and it doesn't happen again. This is how you lose customers. read more

We went on a Saturday morning about 11:30 and they were fairly busy I guess maybe early lunch. But Empty Tables everywhere and our service took forever. It's more of a friendly, chatty place. All young servers that are college kids and family, and that's okay cuz now we know. We liked their crispy potato wedges. (3) Price is reasonable and comparable to other cafes. What we didn't like: (1) Hot in restaurant. Started to lightly sweat while eating and sitting. (2) Waitress wasn't available when we needed our final bill. I had to stand for them to make eye contact with me. (3) Booth wasn't comfortable. Seats were too low or the table was too high. (4) Turkey bacon is not the same as pork bacon. Would I try them again? Was very surprised. Please do not believe everything that read about a restaurant in social media. It is very hard to open a restaurant and maybe even more so in Flower Mound. This restaurant is doing well with challenges that are currently facing the hospitality industry. The food and service was great. Takes a bit of time to get things working and it looks like they are doing well. We had Alec and he was great. Made us feel very welcome. He did great. Are food was good. It was seasoned, served hot on a warm plate. Things that are simple, but important. We will come back and try a couple other items. Want to support a family owned business that is working hard to make it work. Mistakes... who hasn't made them? Opening a restaurant from scratch... how many have done this? I visited here with my brother and niece and nephew. So four of us got seated in a few minutes. So that's good, the good part kind of ends there. Waiter gives us menus and asks for drinks order and is gone for the next 12-15 minutes. For just coffee and water, you kind of expect this to be quick. We ordered 4 different menu items, it took them a good 20 minutes to get us the food. Again breakfast places are way faster, especially considering we were there around 9:30 and the breakfast crowd was dwindling down. The food was mediocre. We had to ask for a refill of creamer, our waitress disappeared with the bowl and never got back, had to flag another waitress down to get it. Ambiance is alright for a breakfast place. We were pleasantly surprised when we found Texas Star Cafe. Not only do they have great food, their servings are plentiful. Additionaly, they serve Tex-Mex food. Their salsa is homemade and quite delicious. We found them shortly after they opened in Flower Mound and have become regular customers. We recommend them to our friends all the time. Some have become 'regulars' as well. We're pleased to see their business is growing but their service is still very customer oriented. The staff is very friendly and will accomodate if you have specific taste. They are now serving dinner (from Wednesday through Saturday) and their menu is varied not to mention delicious. Stop by and see for yourselves. Sometimes you may have to wait a little to be seated but it is well worth it! read more

Should be a no star. Waited 20 minutes before someone came to bring our drinks. Another 25 minutes to get our food. The taste of the food was ok (not bad but not memorable). Was really let down. The hostess needs better training. People were stacking up at the front door...she didn't know how to manage to tables or even greet people warmly as they entered. We were never greeted. Needs more staff and your waitstaff need to keep tables in order. 2 other tables that were seated after us had their orders taken before us. The same thing happened to the table behind us. I have to say this is one of the best places to eat. The food is amazing. They serve breakfast all day too. They have a great menu with lots of home cooking. Something we don't see much of in Flower Mound. They are now open at night also. The service is fantastic and the ambiance is definitely cowboy style like an old log cabin. Reasonably priced also.
