I had a large 60 Years+ Maple tree in the front yard that had become diseased and had large animal burrows in the "Y" of the tree and needed to be removed before becoming a danger. Arturo was great, very upfront with the estimate, and his crew were very efficient. They showed up first thing in the morning and had a very difficult tree in our yard cut down before noon. After clearing space between a garage and block wall in preparation for painting, a tree was discovered growing over the garage and next to power lines. Because the space had been covered with shrubs, the tree had been growing for years without notice. Lopez Tree Service did a great job removing the tree. Arturo explained the process, and his crew accomplished the task in little time with no damage to roof or surrounding neighbors' yards. I called up Lopez Tree service and made an appointment with Arturo to give me a bid on trimming some trees on my property. He was easy and pleasant to speak with an seemed knowledgeable. We met and I showed him the work I had in mind. He gave me his recommendations on how to achieve what I was looking for and said he would email me a written proposal specifying the cost. About a week passed and I received nothing. I then called and spoke with him. Thinking that he may have an incorrect email address for me, he asked that I text him my email address. I did. I still received nothing. About a week or so later I called and left a message letting him know that I received no proposal. To this day, no reply. read more

Not professional and does not value a customer's loyalty. Having used Lopez Tree Service for 2 years I thought I had found my tree company. I was terribly mistaken. Arturo is very hard to reach. After playing phone tag for several days, he finally came by to give an estimate over 2 weeks after the initial phone call. He promised to do the work on a Saturday and never came through. He did not answer emails or return phone calls. I wasted 2 1/2 months waiting for him to cut my trees. In getting new bids from other companies with certified arborists, I realized he had been trimming my trees poorly for the last couple of years. I went with another new tree service this year and my trees look more natural and not severely cut. read more

I used Lopez Tree Service several years ago to cut down my Chinese Elm in the front and also to trim my two pittosporum trees in the back. He is an arborist and knows his stuff (I didn't even know what kind of trees they were before he told me). His guys know exactly how to trim a tree, he even explained everything to me about how to do it for the health of the tree, but I don't remember the details. I just called him again to cut down my palm in the back and asked him if I could keep the mulch. He told me palms don't make good mulch, but that he would drop off a load of mulch for free in my driveway!!! They do incredible work, and he always gives a fair price. They cleaned up everything both times. I'm really grateful to have someone I know who is very good at what they do and always fair with the price. They contacted the City of LA and discovered that I could not remove the trees so I got a permit to trim the trees. They just did a big job for me, cleaning up some storm damage. They removed three trees, one of which also needed the stump removed. They also trimmed a couple more trees. There prices were reasonable (so much so, that another arborist looked at my job and said it was too big for him. I told him what Arturo had quoted and he said "take it, that is a great price") Because of all the work after the storm, and because he needed a certain piece of equipment, it took a few weeks before he could start the job, but he stayed in touch. When I purchased my home in Pasadena it came with 2 Oak trees and a Deodar. The trees had been ignored for 20 years. There was dead wood and one had dried Ivy branches through out. I have just bought a house and am in need of some tree trimming service and I found Lopez Trees on yelp and saw his reviews and decided to call to make an apt. i called last thursday, played phone tag with Jose (not sure that is his name actually) he was very polite and nice, i asked if he had time to stop by saturday, which was 11/01/14, he said he was busy however he was going to double check and call me back Saturday to confirm whether he could make it or not, he never did call me back or since.
