Food is OK. The giant pizza is something you're not going to be able to get anywhere else so that's something I'd recommend. Would not recommend the sandwiches. The garlic knots are definitely one of the better things on the menu when fresh. Reason for the low review is I and a lot of people I know have had negative interactions with the staff. Particularly the young, male manager. The customer service here is such a wildcard- you could catch them on a day when they're delighted to have your business, or on a day when they're all screaming at each other behind the counter. I guess that makes it a fun adventure if you have a sense of humor, but I just want the food I paid for and a positive interaction. Ultimately Big Guys is not for me. read more

This gem is just fabulous. I had heard many great things, it got to experience the amazingness over the weekend. We were exhausted after helping my dad move, and thanksgiving, so all we wanted was pizza on a rainy night. We called Big Guys and it turns out they deliver for free orders over $15. This amount was easy to fit because we were feeding 6. We ordered the big guy thinking that would be enough for everyone. It was HUGE!!!!!! Stopped in to try a new pizza place. Pizza was OK, nothing that made it stand out from the big chain pizza places except less grease. We had the Meat Lovers, i was not impressed with the quality of the beef, it was supposed to have meatballs also, we found 2 on a 16" pizza. We may come back and try just the pepperoni but that may be awhile. We try something new each week in Mint hill but so far only the bbq has had us back for a second time. Service: Pretty much you order in the front then sit at your table and you fill up your drinks yourself. The service was good everyone was very sweet and friendly. It was a very family friendly environment which is great. Food: The cheese sticks were amazing they tasted homemade and delicious. They had the perfect cheese pulls and crunch. Now for the pizza..... it tasted okay but the texture was very watery. I'm not sure if it was just my pizza that came out a little soggy...but it was dripping. Once a great place, had fallen. Ordered two calzones. One had a lot of ingredients but very little bread. The other was mostly bread and no ingredients. The size and bread used for the calzones seems different, kind of cheap. The size of the calzones are smaller, but the prices are the same. I will try a different place for my next calzone. read more

At one point I had rated this place 5 stars many moons ago; for years the pizza was always amazing......the last few visits had a slow decline in service, friendliness (thanks to the kids/children that work here), and overall pizza quality. The kids/children that work here have attitudes and aren't friendly at all. It's like they are part of the family so they got a "in" and this is just a job to make some spending cash so they don't care and treat their patrons like they don't matter. Down here, there are many that claim to be "NY pizza". Thought we'd try their white pie. Growing up, garlic pizza was my absolute favorite. I was partial to a local place in NY as a kid. Where's the sauce?! Just ordered and picked up a half veggie and have pepperoni pizza and it's so dry! I think they forgot the sauce. Crust was good. Last time we ordered the crust wasn't cooked enough. This place used to be really good and consistent. Now it's hit or miss. We'd just moved to the neighborhood and this was one of the few places that delivered. Ordering was a challenge, guy could barely hear me and I had to repeat the order a couple of times. Delivery took over an hour and we literarily live a block away. When I asked if pick up was faster he said no. I'm still trying to figure that one out. Pizza arrived warm, not hot. Sauce is not great, we couldn't figure out what it was missing or had too much of. We ordered wings in buffalo sauce, instead we received dry, overcooked wings without any flavor. We thought the sauce was baked on but that was not the case. Ended up throwing away more than half the wings and half the pizza sat around until it finally made it into the trash. I was with my parents in the area at a Farmers Market, and this popped up as a suggestion for lunch. Located at one end of a strip mall, there is plenty of parking in front. As you walk in, you order at the front counter and pick your own table. As my parents are older, I had them sit to look at the menu and I got up to order to save them energy. The pizzas are HUGE. We got the meat lovers, and I was so happy that there were leftovers. You do have to fill up your drinks on your own. They do bring your pizza to you. They also bring plates, silverware and a spatula to get the pizza. Thin crust, great sauce/cheese/topping ratio. I am so glad to have found this place. read more

Pizza is always fresh. Best NY style pizza that I have had in NC. They even use the sliced sausage ant not that crumbled sausage.

Been here a few times per year since I've lived in the area. Overall the food is pretty good here. First things first, if you buy pizza "by the slice" during the day know everything starts as a precooked cheese slice and toppings are added, put back through the oven, and served. This does not work well with all toppings and the toppings will fall off the slice as they aren't melted into the cheese. Veggie toppings come out almost raw because they are only heated long enough to reheat the slice. Ordering a new full pie is where this pizza shines, so for lunch I would skip ordering a slice and go straight to a personal size fresh pizza. The pizza is a thin foldable NY style crust and very tasty. It's a bit greasy if you get extra cheese or pepperoni. I usually order extra sauce on my pizzas but their sauce is a bit sweet for my tastes so I skip that. Their stromboli's and calzones are great.....like....my new go to's when in the area. Try them out dipped in ranch! The decor is unfortunately very confused and cheesy. Think Cracker Barrel meets Big Lots with a New York yard sale twist. Too many made in China "mamas southern kitchen" type nicknacks everywhere. Overall this place is very decent. Give them a try. read more

Pizza was amazing. Ordered a White Manhattan. The only problem I had was with the guy working there. Accidentally went into the store and he yelled at me that I wasn't allowed to be in there and that I should learn to read. I then waited outside for 5 minutes for him to take my order. Pizza is also expensive and overpriced for the amount you get. The slices are sliced large and i got 8 slices for $28! I'd rather go to Marcos up the street to get a large deluxe for $15! read more

When we first walked in, it wasn't as inviting as we'd hoped for it to be family owned. I like the old country/southern decor, it's nostalgic for the rustic lovers. On the contrary, the slices are NY style. It was a tad too greasy for my liking. By the time I got to the crust, I forgot how greasy it was. The crust certainly tops this bite off right! The toppings were terrible, about 60% of the pizza had ZERO cheese (and I mean ZERO... it was just sauce on crust). When it got here half of the pizza was crushed to the side from handling and some was sticking to the wax paper, so when you removed the few toppings and cheese that was there came off! We have picked up pizza here several times during COVID-19 and have never been disappointed. They have the best service. We place our order over the phone for pick-up. Drive up and they come to you, take your payment and deliver the pizza to the car. They are always wearing a mask and are taking all of the necessary precautions. 100% not impressed! I got Chicken Parmesan, which comes with a side of spaghetti and 2 garlic knots. The spaghetti was so watery it was like they didn't drain it after they cooked. The chicken parm was tasteless and bland I have never had such unflavorfull Italian in my life. My mom got a Stromboli which was great till the end the last part was so hard it could have broken glass. I will not be returning to Big Guys and I don't recommend it. read more
