Fried turkey we couldn't eat .
    mitzi W.

My husband ordered a fried turkeys from here & it has no seasoning & tasteless. I followed the instructions & but it didn't help, it is so light skin it ain't funny. This place probably forgot to season it smh. Never again wAste of almost $100 we didn't eat it, we can't even give it away. So I'm gonna try to doctor it, slice it & put it in the air fryer.

Cornbread (inc w/ turkey soul dinner) outstanding

Its Five Star Fri again!!! I finally returned to Loreto's after trying to hit this place around the holidays. During the holidays they only do catering orders. Loreto's specializes in fried turkey and is on Redondo Beach Blvd and Dwight, 4 mi east of the 110 in CPT. In addition to turkey, they also offer Southern faves like sweet potato pie, banana pudding and peach cobbler. BTW, cash only. I ordered the turkey soul dinner that comes w/ mac & cheese, greens, cornbread and gravy ($12). It was my first time having fried turkey, and it was amaaazing! First of all, the leg was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. In addition, the white meat was moist and flavorful. Secondarily, the mac & cheese was nice and rich. It was comparable to a high end steakhouse's version. Third of all, the greens had a bit of smoked turkey to balance the flavor of the other items. And last but not least, the cornbread was moist and the portion was large. No butter was required: All 5 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, its a total hole in the wall. However, you can savor the fried turkeys in the display case while you wait. There are a few tables outside, but if you don't like the area get take out. Service is leisurely to say the very least. Nonetheless, the owner and his son are very nice. Additionally, so are the clientele: Both 5 Stars. Idk what took me so long to try fried turkey, but it won't be long before I'll be back. The food and service are outstanding here!!!

*** Hmm, fried turkey for Thanksgiving! *** Of course I waited until the last minute to get turkey for Thanksgiving, right? (0_o) I called Loreto's on Tues and TG is today. They told me "all orders booked thru Sat" but they added me on to their waiting list. Luckily there was a last min cancellation. (whew) This 15lb turkey was succulent and tasty. I just refrigerated it overnight then placed it in the oven (350 deg) for an hour on TG Day. My first fried turkey experience was pleasing. *** I wish this Mom & Pop shop success! ***

A chicken cackles, a duck quacks but you will be the one gobbling up food if you eat here! This is a very small business run by pops, son and daughter. They only do one thing here and that is turkey..deep fried turkey. They have instructions for reheating if you decide to purchase a whole bird and you must order in advance if you are purchasing for the holidays! ~Turkey Tacos-5 Stars These small tacos will cost you a buck each. I ordered mine with avocado and tomato and they were delicious. The turkey juices are really sealed inside the meat. This was all I tried and was very happy with my food. In fact, I placed an order for my 15lb turkey for Thanksgiving. ~Holiday Orders A fifteen pound turkey will run you $70. They also have plenty of sides you can order also. I will update my review after I actually eat this. I have very high hopes for the food at my holiday dinner this year and it is my turn to cook! Very small restaurant with minimal parking but worth the food. Make sure you bring cash. I am a fan and am anxious to update this review after Thanksgiving!

Turkey burrito with rice and beans. Needs some sauce.

I went in for lunch and the guy working was extremely friendly. I told him I only had 10 minutes and he made sure my food was ready in a timely fashion. I ordered the turkey burrito. It wasn't bad or great. It lacked pizzaz. Maybe if he had some type of tasty sauce it would have been better. The burrito was 3 stars the service was 5 stars. So overall a 4 star grade.

    Sides: Mac n Cheese & Rice & Gravy ..

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! Customer service is superb!! Joe (chef/owner) is very warm and welcoming!! Kinda makes you feel like family!! The Location: Must admit, at first I wasn't sure what to expect as the place is older looking and next to a busy corner liquor store with ppl occasionally hanging outside .. Its tucked into a itty bitty corner without much space and isn't fancy. But otherwise, to my surprise the inside was pretty clean !! If you're not from around these parts I can see it being a tat intimidating but don't be scared away it isn't that bad.. The Turkey "soul" sandwich was pretty good and a nice portion.. Joe even bakes his on bread right there in the shop.. This bread was soft, fresh and just fits the turkey sandwich perfectly!! The mac n cheese was also great ! You can taste it's homemade-ness (sorry I know that isn't a word but get my point rt? Lol) Everything shows that he loves what he does!! I have forsure become a regular!! Can't wait to try the whole menu! Prices are very reasonable! This place is a must try!! Tip: bring cash they don't accept credit or debit..

Has anyone had any actual luck getting through on the phone?

I've been here a few times before, mainly for the sides, but after this experience I honestly don't know if I'll return. I ordered a lunch chicken plate and was never told it would take over 40 minutes. Had I known, I either wouldn't have ordered or would have asked for a refund much sooner. Meanwhile, customer after customer who ordered after me received their food before I did. When I finally got my order, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. I asked if there was anything they could do for the inconvenience, and the only thing offered was a free slushy. I don't even drink soda. A side dish or something more thoughtful would have made more sense. To make matters worse, when I got home, the chicken portion was very small and the two sides were tiny about the size of dressing cups. It's disappointing because I actually do like their flavors, but good food only goes so far when the customer service experience is this poor.

Couldn't believe what I saw on both Yelp and Apple Maps, 4.8 stars and over 100+ reviews and this spot is in Compton, my city. Didn't even know a spot like this existed. Busted a u-turn going down Alondra so I could go back to Atlantic then make that right and slide to Compton Blvd and make that left. A few streets from there on your right side you'll find boulevard gastropub. Sitting next door to some other business which is right next to a big parking lot which is free by the way. I've parked in this lot at least a couple of times just to go to that taco truck and never noticed gastropub. Immediately when I walked in it was good vibes and the sense of a good atmosphere. I was greeted by the owner and a young lady who was the bartender. The owner is real cool. We had a short conversation I shared with him how I discovered his business and informed him I do reviews as well as post some content on my social media platforms in hopes of businesses receiving more attention and customers. Unfortunately, due to them not having an alcohol or liquor license, some of their drinks such as the cocktails are more so wine based drinks. So please don't come here expecting to get some Don Julio or Hennessy. Ain't gone happen lol. I had a Classic Mojito and enjoyed it. The price was $10 which I found exceptional. The food was delicious. I recommend the Blvd Burger as a go to if you can't decide on anything else. I loved it so much I had to make a video. And definitely try the Voodoo Wings. You won't be disappointed. Just imagine buffalo wings with lemon pepper seasoning. Cuz that's what it is and they're fire. No bs with the ranch dressing too. I'm definitely returning for another visit. I can see this being a new frequent spot to pull up to and hang out. I love the ambiance, my drink, the food here and the customer service. All things to be considered when going out and spending money. What I spent was definitely worth the first time experience.

We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Nate's service really made our night special, making us feel right at home.

The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.

The final item ordered was a mushroom pasta with shrimp. The shrimp were fantastic with a light char and perfect flavoring. The pasta was good. It was a bit to spicy for me with the chili oil so I only had a small portion. The inside is simple yet inviting with an open layout. It did look quite busy on the patio when we checked in with the hostess. We were informed that it would prob be about 20 minutes or so for a table and if we wanted to wait at the bar. Exactly what we did. Bar area had maybe 5/6 hi top chairs that look onto the bar. Gabriel and Francisco who were working was knocking the drinks out one by one. Sitting there and just watching them create magic for everyone, it was quite amusing. Seeing how it's made and presented with precise detail, it was an art. While waiting for the table we started off with the raspberry lychee martini and the spicy margaritas. Both were great. The right amount of kick with each sip. Gabriel was knocking them out one by one and man was he busy. Fransisco took are of us while we were eating which we ended up just having our dinner at the bar instead. The last time I remembered the chicken Parmesan which was excellent. So we started off with the grilled prawns as a starters. Five prawns in a skewers and grilled with a delicious sauce accompanied. It was tasty and quite delicious. Decent size and meaty for each bite. Entrees was a little mishap as our meal was mistakenly given to the party next to us which they enjoyed. Honesty mistake but we laughed it off. Kitchen was informed and a rushed was put on our order. We weren't in a rush so it was fine with us. They apologized and graciously offered us a dessert after dinner. Something simple but very graceful for the honest mistake. Entrees, the wild mushrooms pasta which was quite tasty and pretty decent in size. The cream sauce which wasn't too over powering the meal was great. Each bite was very tasty. Then there was the chicken Parmesan which why we were here and expecting. The last visit it was excellent with grilled broccolini, slices of tomatoes on top and mozzarella cheese and onto spaghetti pasta. It was great. Thinking it would be the same this time which it wasn't. This visit, it was just served with squash pasta and buffalo mozzarella on top. Honestly it wasn't what I expected, somewhat of a little disappointed. Chicken was good don't get me wrong. But the hot meat with sauce and then you have literally COLD squash pasta paired with it. It was a little underwhelming. Overall, we still had a nice experience. The place was pretty full and of course the lakers were on so it was fun seeing everyone cheering them on. Bar seating for a meal was great as we had fun conversations with both Gabriel and Francisco. Plus they were cranking them drinks out one by one. Excellent in what they do. The drinks were great, grilled prawns and wild mushrooms pastas were excellent. Chicken parm, this time was a miss. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and cocktails. Also the dessert, highly recommend the Cinnabon with vanilla ice cream. Wow, it went down very well. Hoping next time will outdo this.
