This restaurant sits in an old historic house. It's fun imagining what went on in the past. Ordered the Birria tacos and it was quite tasty. The beef was soft and tender and the consume was great. The taco salad was fresh and a nice serving for lunch. Lucky there was no wait but capacity is quite small dinner might get busy. Service was great and the restaurant was quaint

The food here is pretty good. My friends and I got different dishes and everyone enjoyed their meals. I ordered the quesobirria tacos and it was very good! Very filling and hearty, 3 tacos kept me so full I disnt eat dinner anymore. It has home like appeal and feeling when you dine in. Friendly and attentive staff.

    Quessabirrias plate. DELICIOUS.

My husband and I love this restaurant! The spicy green salsa and fresh crunchy chips was so good. My husband ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and I ordered the quesabirrias plate. Both my husband and I were very happy with our meals. My plate was perfect: beans, rice, spicy sauce, and 2 tacos -so good! I also had to have a bite of my husband's sandwich because he loved it so much, and it was seriously the best bbq sandwich I've ever tried. The chicken was cooked perfectly. We both enjoyed our meals and we will be back for more! Also, the staff were all very kind and welcoming. This is our new favorite spot for Mexican food. Definitely recommend.

My husband and I recently arrived in Napa and stopped into this quaint 'home' for Lunch. It was somewhat busy for a Thursday afternoon and their menu had a Nice Assortment of Traditional Mexican Favorites. We received the typical chips with a green salsa that had a little 'kick'. The chips were Not even Warm, which was a little disappointing. My husband ordered two tacos a la carte while I opted for their chicken enchiladas. I was a little surprised at how long to took to receive our meals but they were good. My husband was a little disappointed with his two tacos since their were the 'typical' Street Tacos and were smaller than he had expected. My meal was very filling with not the usual enchilada presentation. The enchiladas were served with Shredded Lettuce, small pieces of White Cheese, Guacamole and Sour Cream on top. The chicken was a little bland with hardly any melted cheese inside or outside but the beans and rice were good. I would have liked just a little more Flavor added, Not Heat, but flavor.

Dimples recommended the chillireano and it was fire. Pass by yesterday with my son and my bro.

It helped that one of the workers came out with a megaphone and explained how everything works and the history behind it being the oldest building in Napa. There will be a line that looks like you are about to get on a Disneyland ride but it's not as bad as it looks. Once you order and sit down, the magic truly begins. Let's talk food real quick. So I've been here twice and I've been blown away both times. The Breakfast Sandwich is even tastier than you could imagine while being the perfect amount of food. There's something about that spicy mayo that really brings the bun and protein all together. The star is definitely the Burrito de Chorizo. This is easily the best Chorizo burrito I've ever had. If you just gave me the Burrito by itself you would have been fine. I mean the Chorizo itself isn't super greasy and I never get that feeling like after I've eaten 4 items from Taco Bell. The thing that sends your taste buds into the stratosphere is the Salsa itself comes with. It's like a smokier salsa and that alone is music to my heart and soul. If it ever gets too spicy it comes with sour cream to cool you down. But I almost guarantee if you order this, it's gonna be hard to pull away from that Burrito. Also the Paloma and El Berto drinks are amazing. The Mimosa flight is very much worth the price. Uncle Wigs is good but on the lighter side booze wise. So if you are lightweight, this could be a good choice. La Cheve has a unique system with ordering and getting your table. Normally if you go to a place where you order and then sit, you are usually allowed to sit where you want. Here they actually still show you to your table. However you won't have to wait super long for your food because once you sit down you see how well oiled the machine really is. The team at La Cheve is able to carefully manage the seating so that it never ever really feels like there is chaos. Some people might look at the open tables around them and be confused but not me. You ever go to a restaurant where its so loud that you have to turn your speaker volume up to 11/10? I can't stand that. Part of going out to a restaurant whether it's your friends or family is the experience. I want to reconnect with the people I love. I want to have pleasant and fun conversations. So when you pair that with the already good food and drinks, I think La Cheve has really mastered the full dining experience in their own unique way.

Date of Reservation Saturday, June 6…read more The Food I'll start with the highlights: the food here was absolutely great. Everything our table ordered was delicious, cooked perfectly, and well-presented. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing. The Service Unfortunately, the dining experience was really let down by how rushed we felt. Throughout the night, it felt like the front-of-house staff was on a mission to flip our table as fast as possible. Servers were constantly hovering and picking up plates while half of our group was still actively eating. It reached a point where one of my friends was practically interrogated about whether she was finished. They kept coming back to check on her plate so many times that she eventually just gave up, got annoyed, and told them to just take it away before she was even done. It's hard to enjoy great food when you feel like an inconvenience or a timer is ticking down. I'd love to come back for the flavors, but the staff needs to let guests actually breathe and enjoy their meals.

Our family of 2 adults and 1 child (age 8) enjoyed the following: 1) Chicken mole enchiladas- excellent 2) Pork tamales- good, though I found some of the meat too fatty 3) Chips & guacamole- the house made chips were a bit too thick for us; the guacamole was tasty 4) Kids cheese quesadilla - we appreciated the fact they had a $5 kids cheese quesadilla on the menu 5) Soft serve - Delicious The set up is such that you order and pay up front, then sit out back and wait for your order to be delivered to your picnic table. What came up short was the ratio of batter to fish. Way too much batter for the amount of fish. Also it was totally the wrong fish for the batter. Way too soft. I don't know how you eat these in the restaurant but they are a mess. If I'm paying almost twenty bucks for fish tacos. I think I might expect slightly more elegance. Menu did look very interesting.
