The night we went was hopping! I mean the buzz was there. Our service was great. We split the chile verde which came with beans and rice. The tortillas seemed homemade but I don't think they were. Corkage was $16. Everything was great. I can see this becoming the most popular spot downtown.

Had an opportunity to visit after their reopening. The food, as always, is so good! We had the bean dip with chorizo. So glad they kept this on the menu. We all enjoyed a variation of margaritas. The cucumber one is my favorite. Their chili verde is always one of my favorite dishes! The service was incredible and extremely friendly. Honestly my only complaint was the atmosphere. It doesn't feel like a Mexican restaurant. The tile is dull and the walls are neutral. Going from the vibrant feel of what it was before, to this, just feels a little lack luster. They need some pops of color either on the walls or something to bring up the energy. Regardless, we look forward to going back soon.

This is a Napa institution. Through earthquakes, fires and Covid, they have bounced back and keep getting better and better. Thanks for being like family! Did I mention that food is outstanding?

Thanks for squeezing our party of 5 into your soft opening today; the food was beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Great service, too!!

After almost a year they are back! So worth the wait! We were so excited to see so many familiar faces with the reopening. We used to go weekly and requested our favorite waiter, Marco. To our pleasant surprise after a year Marco still remembered our drink order! So excited that Don Ps is back in our rotation!

It's back. Can confirm chilles verdes is the same... margaritas the same... will report back on the fajitas next lol. The host station is too close to the door and there is nowhere to queue for your table when someone else is in front... that's my only minor complaint. No vegetables were harmed in writing this review lol.

Enjoyed a late lunch here on Sunday. Offers outside & inside seating. Nice variety of dishes to choose from without being too overwhelming. The Paloma was delicious! The burrito carnitas was delicious & generous enough to share! The staff was attentive & service was very good.

Good dining experience. We were seated immediately, and the food came out in a timely manner. Service was good, and so was the food. Five stars, not because it was over the top, but because I have no complaints. Don Perico met my expectation for a Mexican restaurant in Napa. I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas with two soft corn tortillas, filled with seasoned chicken, topped with our homemade tomatillo salsa verde (which contains pork) and melted cheese - I ate half and was able to enjoy the rest at home the next day. It was delicious. I do recommend trying it. Husband had the fish tacos, and our friend had a bean & cheese burrito. Overall, we had a good dining experience. Restaurant was clean and noise level was average.

Food was average. Fajitas were seasoned nicely, enchiladas had a nice sauce and tacos were decent. Menu selection was pretty standard for Mexican food. Service was alright. Food came out quickly.

We were in Napa to see a show at the Blue Note, and she wanted some lunch. After parking, we strolled around, looking at the nearby possibilities. She decided on Mexican food, so we went to Don Perico. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating, and we chose outdoor. It was a nice day but there was a table in the shade and that's where we parked ourselves. The one downside though, were the flies. I kept 1/2 my napkin covering my Horchata and it was a constant vigil to keep the pests from landing on our plates. I'm not sure how they could resolve that short of mesh screens or fans that would blow the napkins all over. Service was very good and our server came by and checked on us frequently. The food was decent, pedestrian American-Mexican. I had asked for my order with Whole Black Beans but the kitchen had put Refried Pinto Beans on my plate. Instead of replating, they simply served a small bowl of Whole Black Beans on the side. I didn't waste all of the Refried though. I used them as a accompaniment on the complimentary Tortilla Chips. She really enjoyed her Taco and the Chile Rellenos were all right as well. Would we come here again? Maybe. But there are many other restaurants to try in the area as well.

We parked between the theater and the restaurant, so it was only about a two-block walk for us and that was fine. When first walking in, it's a little dark inside, but that led to the ambience. It was also a little on the loud side, but not annoyingly so. It felt like a great place for a group of friends to come and get some food and drinks. I was excited to try the drinks--i started with La Guapa which I loved!! It wasn't too sweet, and not spicy either, despite the jalapeno. I followed it up with La Rosa.I typically love prickly pear margaritas, but this one was a little too sweet for me (but still good). The chips and salsa to start were great, nice and crispy. I had the green enchiladas for my entree and thoroughly enjoyed it. My mom just went with a chicken quesadilla and also enjoyed hers. For dessert, we had flan. Overall, it was a really nice dinner with good service!

Ended up being more dinner than lunch. I was walking all around downtown Napa looking at options and then looking them up on Yelp and just not really finding what I was looking for. After a while comfort food was on my mind and Los Agaves delivered. I always order chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. I feel you can usually tell how good the food will be if they have really good chips and fresh salsa. The chips were delicious, salted just right and super crunchy. They honestly tasted like the chips my mom and grandma would make. They were super fresh as if they were made that day or recently. The salsa was soooo good. Has a little bit of heat at the back of the mouth once you take a bite. The cilantro comes through and offers fresh herbiness. And there is a hint of Smokeiness to the salsa as well. It's well balanced and you can actually taste each ingredient. I also love the consistency little chunks of onion, tomato, pepper, and cilantro but still a little liquidy so you can dip. I also ordered the Los Agaves cocktail (tequila, lime, cucumber, agave, and ube. I didn't really notice the ube flavor but it added beautiful color. The cucumber comes through. The tequila is also present , no watered down drinks here. :) I couldn't decide between steak or chicken tacos and my waitress said how about both? Sold. The meal was excellent. The tacos are fully loaded with meat, they don't skimp. But the real show stopper is the steak taco. It was so tender and flavor full. I ordered it without the cheese and I'm glad I did because it's the star of the dish all on its own. The rice and beans were lovely too, flavor yet light. The whole meal was exactly what I needed to recharge. I think one of the best things is this meal is light yet fulfilling. You don't feel bloated, overly full, or heavy. It's not greasy. It's refreshing. Thank you so much for the perfect post race meal!

Well... consider me humbled. He handled the ordering while I took in the ambiance, completely unaware that my first bite of the carne asada was about to silence me in a way his endless recommendations never could. My eyes genuinely lit up. The seasoning was layered, deeply savory, and somehow impossible to put into words. I'm not one to police what is or isn't "authentic," but damn. Even my Asian grandma could take one bite and say, "His mama made this." There was something unmistakably soulful about it--the kind of flavor that feels less like a recipe and more like a mother's love worked into every bite. Then came bite number two: carne asada, generously dressed with the green sauce. And that was the cake topper. Holy guacamole. I need a bottle of that green sauce immediately. It's bright, spicy, addictive, and the kind of condiment that makes you start mentally calculating how much you can take home without looking unreasonable. Would I drive all the way to Napa for these tacos alone? Absolutely. The drive is worth it. The tacos are worth it. And apparently, so is being forced to admit that my boyfriend was right. We stopped by on a Saturday for lunch and it was BUSY. There is limited parking so definitely keep that in mind. The line moves pretty quickly and you place your order inside. They have a large patio in the back with plenty of seating. We ordered the chips and guac, enchiladas de mole, and enchiladas suizas. The chips and guac came out first. The chips are SO GOOD. They fry their homemade tortillas into a large chip. The tortillas are very flavorful and the guacamole is rich and creamy. I think they grate their jalapeño/serrano into the avocado which allows for the flavor to be spread out across the bite. My only complaint is regarding the guac: I wish it had lime! Or if it did have lime, it didn't have enough. The food took a while to come out but the wait was worth it. The portions are huge! The enchiladas suizas were scrumptious. The chicken is stewed which makes it very moist and full of flavor. The pickled veggies weren't my favorite but I'm not generally a pickled veggies fanatic. My partner enjoyed his enchiladas con mole (which I obviously stole a bite from). The mole was very rich and decadent. Overall, we had an excellent experience and look forward to a trip back!
