I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas with two soft corn tortillas, filled with seasoned chicken, topped with our homemade tomatillo salsa verde (which contains pork) and melted cheese - I ate half and was able to enjoy the rest at home the next day. It was delicious. I do recommend trying it. Husband had the fish tacos, and our friend had a bean & cheese burrito. Overall, we had a good dining experience. We were in Napa to see a show at the Blue Note, and she wanted some lunch. After parking, we strolled around, looking at the nearby possibilities. She decided on Mexican food, so we went to Don Perico. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating, and we chose outdoor. It was a nice day but there was a table in the shade and that's where we parked ourselves. The one downside though, were the flies. I kept 1/2 my napkin covering my Horchata and it was a constant vigil to keep the pests from landing on our plates. I'm not sure how they could resolve that short of mesh screens or fans that would blow the napkins all over. Service was very good and our server came by and checked on us frequently. The food was decent, pedestrian American-Mexican. I had asked for my order with Whole Black Beans but the kitchen had put Refried Pinto Beans on my plate. Instead of replating, they simply served a small bowl of Whole Black Beans on the side. I didn't waste all of the Refried though. I used them as a accompaniment on the complimentary Tortilla Chips. She really enjoyed her Taco and the Chile Rellenos were all right as well. Would we come here again? Maybe. But there are many other restaurants to try in the area as well. read more

Don Pericos was one of my go to spots years ago but I have not been back in a while. My brother and I stopped in on Cinco de Mayo and while they did have a limited menu on this day, they still had their Wet Burritos which are amazing! The wet burritos are served with the beans and rice on the side which means that you get a large tortilla filled with a plentiful amount of whatever protein you choose, I got carne asada. I ordered my favorite drink here, the coronita which is a margarita with a small corona in it, super fun! The service was fast and all staff are very attentive. We shared a Chili Verde Burrito as we weren't very hungry after a great happy hour. The Burrito was very tasty. However, the sauce was very salty. "Good Food, but Poor Customer Service" The food was good, but the customer service left me disappointed. While I was dining, a fruit fly landed in my guacamole and sour cream. I politely asked the waiter for a fresh serving, but was told I would be charged for it. As a paying customer, I expected more understanding, especially since the issue involved a bug in the restaurant itself. I've never encountered this at other restaurants, and it left me feeling very dissatisfied. Good food is important, but so is customer service, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously. read more

It was our first night in Napa (this time) and we hadn't made plans/reservations for dinner, so we were at the mercy of restaurants we could walk to from Inn on First, that were open and had room. We looked around a bit and landed at Don Perico Mexican Restaurant. It was warm, but outside seating was well protected by umbrellas and there was a nice breeze. It was a comfortable setting for dinner. Our server was kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We started with Jalapeño Margaritas, which were beautifully presented. I ordered Enchiladas del Mar and Mark had Steak Fajitas. Both were tasty. We were hungry. I'd say Don Perico is a great place to stop if you've not made other plans. It's good food, but it pales a bit in comparison to other dining options available in the area. Very mediocre place. We all felt that they skimped on alcohol for our margaritas. For the price, the presentation was not good at all. My plate had everything swimming into each other with the excessive cheese overpowering everything. My friends generally liked their plates though. The location was perfect in downtown Napa! When we walked in we were given the option to sit indoors or outdoors. It was a very beautiful day but we decided to dine indoors. The waitress was patient as we looked over the menu due to this being our first time visiting g this location AND trying to find queso on the menu which they did not have (we were truly diners from Texas LOL). We've been coming here for several years and they have some great food. Indoor and outdoor seating for the dogs with plenty of seating and heat lamps on the cold days. Service is fast and friendly and apparently the locals love this place. Happy hour is from opening until 6PM and the lunch menu is great. Fantastic friendly service this afternoon when we stopped in for "Happy Hour." And FYI, Don Perico's "Happy Hour" only includes their regular margarita that is discounted from $9 to $7 and includes their complimentary chips and salsa. Lightly salted chips, somewhat "wet" salsa that is a bit drippy but does have a bit of kick to it. For main course, we each chose the fajitas (steak for me, chicken for my friend) and asked for extra salad instead of rice and beans and tortillas. Certainly the lowest carb option on their menu. The meals arrived in a few minutes with the usual sizzling skillet with the meat on top of onions and peppers. Delicious. A good portion of nicely spiced steak with plenty of onions and different peppers. Huge salad, a good dollop of guacamole and a small pile of pico de gallo. I'd choose Don Perico again though I wouldn't wait for a $2 discount on margaritas*. *Were they strong pours? I can't say but I had two in 40 minutes and felt completely sober.
