Growing up in Napa, I had not been to Don Perico in many years, especially after moving to Vacaville. I was excited that they were reopening after leaving they had closed several months back. I was not disappointed! I had the Fajitas Mixtecas with flower tortillas! My husband had a newer menu item, the Quesabirrias! Both these dishes were delicious! We were greeted by friendly hostesses. Our waiter Marco Jr was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We started out with some cocktails before our food came out. I had a Cucumber Margarita and he had the Cadillac Margarita! His came with the traditional salt rim and mine came with a tajin rim. Both were amazing drinks! I really enjoyed the Cucumber and tajin combination. They have both indoor and outdoor seating as well as glass garage door that allows part of the indoor space to be partially open to the outside! They have T.V.s as well. I would say this is an upscale casual dining spot. Great for a group of friends, family or a fun date night or lunch! Highly recommended! read more

We came here for lunch right as they opened on a Saturday at 11am. We sat at the outside patio but also had access to the dining area. The set-up is very impressive on the inside. My wife is from Napa and has been here multiple times, but this was my first time. Our margaritas were great and the chips n salsa were amazing. The quesabirrias I ordered had a tangy spice flavor that I really liked, and the consome was the perfect compliment. My wife enjoyed her fajitas which came out sizzling on first appearance. They are back and am so happy for them this will be there 3 rd building I have gone in following them. Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. I still went with my go to steak fajitas and were delicious like always. Service was good like it use to be prices seam to be the same. They did a great job on the build out. My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Don Perico's new restaurant location in downtown Napa! We were greeted as we entered the restaurant just after noon on a Friday and seated promptly with chips and salsa too! We ordered drinks and decided on the lunch special, chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. By the way, the special includes your softdrink! The chicken enchiladas were flavorful, moist, and decent portions too! I enjoyed a tap Pacifico beer. We had amazing, outstanding service from Marco and Idali, they're both the BEST! The new location is modern, classy, and beautiful inside! It's very decorative! I highly recommend visiting and dining here, you will be glad you did! We will see you again soon! read more

I ate there for the first time today and it will definitely be the last time. The fajitas had some weird sweet sauce on it and the meat was cut into small little nipple. Like why. Ordered a lemonade beverage and it smelt like butt. We informed our server and he was willing to replace it, but by then we were afraid to eat anything else from there also the churros are terrible hard to mess up churros, but somehow they did. read more

The night we went was hopping! I mean the buzz was there. Our service was great. We split the chile verde which came with beans and rice. The tortillas seemed homemade but I don't think they were. Had an opportunity to visit after their reopening. The food, as always, is so good! We had the bean dip with chorizo. So glad they kept this on the menu. We all enjoyed a variation of margaritas. The cucumber one is my favorite. Their chili verde is always one of my favorite dishes! The service was incredible and extremely friendly. Honestly my only complaint was the atmosphere. It doesn't feel like a Mexican restaurant. The tile is dull and the walls are neutral. Going from the vibrant feel of what it was before, to this, just feels a little lack luster. They need some pops of color either on the walls or something to bring up the energy. Regardless, we look forward to going back soon. read more

The only Mexican part was the beans and the wacamole, The flautas were tasteless and didn't look like they were made there they looked More like Costco or Walmart Bought. After almost a year they are back! So worth the wait! We were so excited to see so many familiar faces with the reopening. We used to go weekly and requested our favorite waiter, Marco. Our first time since they have been back. We took a couple to celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary. From walking in the door to water service, everyone was friendly and attentive. Place drink orders, given ample time to review the menu, and place our orders. A couple of us tweaked our orders a bit and it did not phase the waiter a bit. When the food came, we had a variety from Alondigas Soup& Carnitas on the side to Chile Reilano, it was all great. Sorry to the other restaurants, but Don Perico's, BEST IN TOWN. The food was so good. The decor was modern and you had your choice of indoor or a small outdoor patio. All in all a great comeback for Don Perico's, my new favorite! A bit of a mixed experience for my first visit. I ordered the combination fajitas with steak, chicken, and shrimp. While the shrimp and veggies were cooked to perfection, the steak was overcooked and the chicken was dry. On a positive note, the table service was fast and attentive. The real disappointment came as I was leaving. I asked an older gentleman at the host stand if a manager was available--not to complain, but just to share constructive feedback so they could improve. When he said no, I briefly explained the issue to him, and he simply replied with an indifferent "Okay." No apology, no follow-up. I believe in second chances, so I'll likely try them again and hope for better quality control next time. read more

Good dining experience. We were seated immediately, and the food came out in a timely manner. Service was good, and so was the food. Five stars, not because it was over the top, but because I have no complaints. Don Perico met my expectation for a Mexican restaurant in Napa. I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas with two soft corn tortillas, filled with seasoned chicken, topped with our homemade tomatillo salsa verde (which contains pork) and melted cheese - I ate half and was able to enjoy the rest at home the next day. It was delicious. I do recommend trying it. Husband had the fish tacos, and our friend had a bean & cheese burrito. Overall, we had a good dining experience. I think the staff was great and the food was ok, not great. But what fell short was the vibe and the cold decor. You guys need to take a look at some of the other great Mexican food restaurants in Napa, such as El Guadalajara, El Rancho Grande, Taqueria Maria and others. Don Perico has uncomfortable chairs, even at the bar and absolutely no ambience. Warm the colors up a bit and make the seating comfortable for your guests. Make it a happening place! read more

We were in Napa to see a show at the Blue Note, and she wanted some lunch. After parking, we strolled around, looking at the nearby possibilities. She decided on Mexican food, so we went to Don Perico. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating, and we chose outdoor. It was a nice day but there was a table in the shade and that's where we parked ourselves. The one downside though, were the flies. I kept 1/2 my napkin covering my Horchata and it was a constant vigil to keep the pests from landing on our plates. I'm not sure how they could resolve that short of mesh screens or fans that would blow the napkins all over. Service was very good and our server came by and checked on us frequently. The food was decent, pedestrian American-Mexican. I had asked for my order with Whole Black Beans but the kitchen had put Refried Pinto Beans on my plate. Instead of replating, they simply served a small bowl of Whole Black Beans on the side. I didn't waste all of the Refried though. I used them as a accompaniment on the complimentary Tortilla Chips. She really enjoyed her Taco and the Chile Rellenos were all right as well. Would we come here again? Maybe. But there are many other restaurants to try in the area as well. read more

OMG! This is unbelievable. We have really been looking forward to trying Don Pericos since they reopened & met up with family today for lunch and couldn't stay. We were completely unable to converse with each other. There is a Mexican musical group, complete with extremely loud brass, drums, symbles, guitars, etc. & singing at the top of their lungs. We screamed at the receptionists as loud as we could to see if we could get a table. They couldn't hear us & we couldn't hear them. Through sign language we got a table, but couldn't scream our order loud enough for them to understand. We had to leave without food. I understand Don Pericos food is as great as ever - maybe even better. I have no idea, but the band might be great too. It was just so loud. You couldn't enjoy it at all. It was very intrusive and offensive. It really might have been very enjoyable at several several decibels lower. I will also mention that when we parked our car almost 3 blocks away we thought the music was rather loud and hoped it wouldn't be anywhere near the restaurant. With their doors open, it might as well have been right inside at our table. read more

Don Pericos was one of my go to spots years ago but I have not been back in a while. My brother and I stopped in on Cinco de Mayo and while they did have a limited menu on this day, they still had their Wet Burritos which are amazing! The wet burritos are served with the beans and rice on the side which means that you get a large tortilla filled with a plentiful amount of whatever protein you choose, I got carne asada. I ordered my favorite drink here, the coronita which is a margarita with a small corona in it, super fun! The service was fast and all staff are very attentive. I asked for a spicier salsa and beware, they do not mess around with the habanero salsa, so good! read more

The massive menu has something for everyone but it's anything but authentic. They charge extra for extra chips/salsa, which is comical. We ordered our drinks and our entree all at once. We received our drinks first. My Patron Margarita was superb. The mango margarita was a bit bland for me, but my wife liked it. We shared a Chili Verde Burrito as we weren't very hungry after a great happy hour. The Burrito was very tasty. However, the sauce was very salty. They say they require reservations, but people ahead of us didn't have a reservation and successfully walked in and secured a table. Beware that extra basket of chips and/or salsa are extra -- $3 for salsa, $2 for chips. Other mexican restaurants (except for Hacienda) don't charge. read more

I've been a customer for 21 yrs. Today I visited with my family on the second day of the soft opening. We were blown away, the dining area is beautiful, vaulted ceilings, neutral colors, modern. The bar is stacked with premium spirits. The staff; welcoming and friendly as always. A lot of the familiar faces returned. The food was GREAT. I ordered my usual; Chile Verde.
