Hands down a great place, food is amazing, servers are really nice and quick and this place is Instagram worthy. Their accent wall representing the Mexican culture is vibrant and beautiful. Every dish that we've tried has been awesome, whether it's been the tacos, burritos or enchiladas. Highly recommend the pastor with any dish (some of the best in Napa) and the chicken enchiladas. I really enjoyed this placed. Staff were so attentive, kept our table clean, and water glasses full. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were very flavorful and filling. The guacamole we ordered was not mixed. I love this idea. I don't usually like tomatoes or onion in mine, so I was able to grab the bottom of the bowl. We did determine it needed more lime. My friend ordered the Wet Burrito veggie style. Since she is vegetarian. It basically was all rice and beans, with very little peppers and onions. That was disappointing. Everything was great from the time we walked in! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Within one minute of walking in we at our table and it only got better from there. We had our chips and salsa in front of us in no time. Our server was awesome. Her name is Jasmine and she was genuinely nice and friendly. Jasmine has a beautiful smile and spoke to us as if she had known us forever. The drinks and food were amazing. If the carnitas are on the menu don't miss out. If you're looking for a tasty spot in Napa make sure to add Load Agaves to your list. Our feast included their Guacamole, Queso Fundido, Grilled Octopus, Chicken Enchiladas, Fish Tacos, and Carna Asada Steak. This spot was originally a food truck that recently opened a brick and mortar location in the heart of downtown. All of the food was amazing, but I have to offer a slight critique. My first time dining at Los Agaves and I guarantee it won't be the last! Had a beautiful lunch with a dear friend and it was amazing! From the minute you walk through the doors, you're transported to a lovely cantina south of the border! The interior is decorated with gorgeous murals, furniture, and decor. I love Mole, so chose the Chicken Mole platter. Now THAT'S how Mole should taste! Sweet, dark and rich with just the the right amount of heat. I loved the Cilantro Rice also. There was just a kiss of lime that lingered on your palette. My friend ordered Shrimp Tacos which were equally delightful. Our server was professional, funny and accommodating as well. Spotted the truck while shopping at the outlets in the morning and came back for an early dinner after wine tasting. I know there aren't many reviews for this spot right now, but they've only been around a year so don't worry about that and just go, it's a friggin' gem. I've had my share of tacos in life so I can safely say this is a good one. Quality ingredients, served hot/fresh, and with plenty of balanced flavour. Had the quesabirrias (easily holds its own among the best I've had over the last few years) and a power bowl w/ asada (another great choice with tons of flavour, but I could have done without the white rice). I wanted to try a dessert, but they're made as a special dish on Sundays and sold until they're out. I hope to go back and give the dessert a try! If you're not into spicy food, just ask them to leave off the salsa verde and you should be good. For those that like a bit of spicy, I'd say it's the perfect amount of flavour. read more

I was truly disappointed when coming here. Having a craving for Mexican food I chose to come here as I was in Napa for work. To me, this was expensive, small portions and unauthentic Mexican food. Even the selection on the menu was limited. Maybe my experience would have been different coming for happy hour with better prices. We were recommended this place from a friend of ours so we decided to try it out. We made reservations, arrived and was seated promptly by Carina, very friendly as well as the rest of the staff. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa and right there I knew we had a winner! The salsa was to die for, had a nice smokey flavor and then just the right amount of heat, just enough to last in your mouth until the next chip. For an appetizer, we chose the Queso Fundido, awesome! Cheesy and the chorizo gave it just enough of spice, be careful though, it's cooked on a skillet and comes out really hot. If you wait a bit, the cheese hardens up a bit and its easier to scoop onto your chips. We also had a pineapple margarita as well as a guava margarita....awesome drinks! My stepson and his girlfriend ordered the Carne Asada Taco and Pastor Taco plates. Beans and rice cooked to perfection and the tacos had great flavor, tender meat and just all around delicious. My wife ordered the Enchiladas de Mole, I had to try some of it myself, looked delicious and it was. The chicken was very tender, the mole sauce was sweet, a great balance of flavors all around, will definitely order that the next time I'm there. I myself had the Alambre and I have to say that was the best I've ever had. The meat was so tender, not like other places where you have to chew it to break off a piece, this was nice and tender. The flavors were well balanced and the cheese...OMG, that was the best! They used flour tortillas and they were baked just a bit so it gave it just a tad of a crunch but still soft enough where you could fold those too. We ended the day with the Mexican Cheescake and I like to think of myself as a coniseur of cheesecake. I always have one at restaurants when they're available. Today, they had a raspberry cheesecake which was a bit different than normal. It was topped with a raspberry gelatin and the sprinkled with fresh raspberries on the plate. I never had anything like this before but it was really good. My hat off to our waitress Carina who also provided us with some insights for some wine tasting that day, she was spot on too! Came here with our friends and family for our last dinner in Napa. We received warm water (never even bothered to refill the cups once empty). Food was unanimously rated as worst among each our family members. We are all from Texas, so we know our Mexican food & this was NOT it. Chicken tacos & taquitos were bland & enchiladas were drowning in not-so-good sauce. Never checked on our table after they set the food down. No chip refill. No soda ginger ale refill. If you are missing anything from your meal or want some sauce for the dry taquitos, too bad. Basically, if you are a group of 6 or more- they will be extremely attentive trying to bulk up your order for the auto 20% tip. Once they have locked that in, you will be absolutely forgotten. Also, don't bother trying to talk to a "supervisor." I got a blank stare when I explained the warm water, zero check-ins after dropping off the food, horrible food, & extremely rude attitude once we explained this to the waiter. His response: initially complete silence & then stating he was going to bring us a dessert if we want & he was going to "fire the waiter" in an extremely obnoxious & definitely unbelievable way. I told him whatever they do with their staff/back of the house is their business & that it's not needed/proper/conducive of a meaningful response to our situation, but he just kept repeating it. There are a million restaurants along that street. Worse experience ever. I've never been treated so poorly and embarrassed in a restaurant then here. I called and made a reservation for my niece, the soon to be bride. There was a party of 5 woman. I explained when making the reservation that I was excited to come here because the mural looked beautiful and the food looked delicious. I said we were going wine tasting and ending our day here for early dinner. The host that took my reservation over the phone was very nice and Friendly. When we arrived we got there a few minutes early. There was a large party that was finishing up. The host who also seemed to be the manager said he could sit us outside. He showed me a table in the corner outside. I said no it's ok we will wait for our table. I know we are early. I reminded him that he had a reservation. He was very short and said yeah yeah! Ok?? So we went to the bar to have a drink. The bartender was being super flirty and friendly. No problem we're celebrating a bride. We ordered shots. Then we ordered another because we were waiting for our table to be set. The bartender kept pushing drinks on us. It turned out that they over charged us on the drinks at the bar but the Bartender said "no problem. We will take care of you". We went to our table. 3 of us were sitting and ordering appetizers and 2 were talking at the bar. We ordered lunch. Tacos. The waiter seemed irritated with us. My neice the bride to be went to the bathroom. Then the manager comes to me and says very rudely "you need to check on your friend !" Come to find out the manager yelled my my sister that we all need to leave. My neice fell in the bathroom. She fell so hard she ended up going to the ER that night. But the manager didn't help with anything. He didn't help with an ice pack or checked to see if the floor was wet. He just made assumptions and yelled and embarrassed us in the restaurant. People were looking at us because he was yelling. They packed our food up while we were trying to help our neice and find out what happened. Very rude place will not come again. We didn't get a chance to eat our food because they were packing it up to go. We were forced to walk out the back. I gave this a 1 star because I had to give something. read more

Before even being seated I can say that I have only on rare occasions experienced comparable service such as this. We were greeted immediately by multiple staff members and were given a 15 min wait time... but what really stood out was not even a minute after walking down the street a host named Crystal hurried to approach us about an unexpected availability. It's very rare to see such a sense of urgency nowadays and it does not go unnoticed. After being seated we were presented with water right away and then moments later the server Karina was there to see if we needed anything and making her presence known. We were offered a second basket of chips and said yes as we were hungry. The second salsa was very good, nothing like the first. We ordered the skirt steak and the pork wet burrito. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time though the burrito had the wrong meat. The waiter took the burrito for another one but we decided to get it to go. Upon getting home the burrito tasted like pineapple, there was very little pork, and it was under seasoned. The steak and pepper dish had three small pieces of skirt steak and three hard tortilla's. I guess I would not recommended this restaurant. We spent $44.00 for two plated of food, some chips, and tap water and half of the meal was not very good. Sorry. read more

Long wait times, was told from begging they accepted Apple Pay but in fact didn't.. server tried many times to "make it work" Asada taco meal for 2 and 1 margarita for a cool $60 ain't worth it. I came by for dinner and it wasn't that busy. I didn't get seated for 30 mins and it feels like they just ignore you to feel cool. Eventually after getting a table that was wobbly I ordered. I got the shrimp tacos and mole plate. The shrimp tacos tasted old like if they came from a freezer bag and the mole was not fresh. It tasted like it came from a can. I felt sick the next day and knew it had to be that. The place felt not cool at all and I regret coming in. Would not recommend this place.
