This was a nice bagel/breakfast spot. There is ample outdoor seating that is clean and spacious. The staff was friendly enough, but I could hardly hear the person at the register due to an extremely quiet demeanor, loud music and lack of eye contact. The bagels, on their own, are delicious. However, their in house creations could use a little finesse. The Thai bagel had entirely too much carrot and peanut butter and not enough jalapeno jelly. The Tomonion was dry and could have used a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper. We had to ask for Tajin to season it. The best of the bunch was the chorizo and egg scrambagel. i was stoked to try this place before heading north on my trip -- went to order my standard (bagel with egg and cheese AND jalapeño cream cheese-- seriously try this if you haven't (just not from here)!!) only to find they were going to charge me $7 for the cream cheese???? this would have made it like a $15 breakfast sandwich?? LOL?? thought that was absurd and got an unamused face when i tried to clarify with the cashier. ultimately didn't get the creamcheese on it because $7 is absurd. it should've had gold leaf in it for that price. anyway unfortunately it was a grave mistake to not get the cream cheese, it would have saved the sandwich. the egg was super dry and had a weird texture to it, and the bagel was dry.. took two bites but couldn't eat it. went to the creperie a couple blocks away afterward and had a proper breakfast (that was delicious) advice to los bagels would be to up charge their other items (bagels, coffee) rather than upcharge the cream cheese an absurd amount. gonna toss the egg and grab some creamcheese to salvage the bagel. read more

This is everything the locals told us it would be... great menu with great bagels but there is so much more! Breads look amazing, coffees and spices to buy while you wait in line. I've been going here since I was a kid, definitely went downhill though. It used to be really cheap for a bagel and now it's pretty expensive and they just put tons of cream cheese on it to the point where I have to scrape it off, even when I ask for light cream cheese. Not sure if they do this so they can charge extra but every time I come to the Arcata los bagels only they do this, not any other locations. Food: Ordered a chorizo and guacamole scramble on jalapeño cheddar bagel and haven't looked back. Honestly everything on their menu sounded amazing so I just ordered what my friend ordered and I can't say I was disappointed. While I'm no bagel purist or Mexican food enthusiast, I can subjectively say this was some really good breakfast food. Value: Whenever I leave NYC or SF, I always assume food will be more affordable. And while the prices here wouldn't deter me from coming back (give or take 10 for a dressed up bagel), I definitely couldn't make this an everyday treat. If you are looking for a quick place to have a delicious breakfast, lunch or snack - look no further. This. Is. It. Excellent bagel shop, a must go every time I come visit. The bagels are delicious and fresh. So many unique things about this place - I love that they make 'slugs' which are long bagels instead of circular, the home made everything bagel seasoning that they refer to as 'slug slime' is spectacular, and the fact that you can get larrupin (local dill mustard that is amazing). They have an awesome menu with lots of different options but you can also make your own. If you are new to the area or just visiting , make sure to take a jar of larrupin sauce home and a bottle of their slug slime! It is 100% worth it. They always have a great selection of their merch and local items to take home - although it might seem slightly pricey these are all excellent quality and worth every penny. The staff was friendly and service was fast. Additionally, they have GREAT Covid precautions. Everyone I saw was masked, no indoor eating and the tables outside were well spaced out. Quick work trip here and decided to check out Los Bagels because of all the good reviews! Cute shop in downtown Arcata with artsy paintings everywhere and the prettiest wildflowers. They have a lovely patio on the front and side where I was able to enjoy my delicious Cucumbin on a slug bagel! Slug bagels are their long, slug shaped bagels. The Cucumbin has cucumbers, cream cheese, their "slug slime" which is like an Everything Bagel seasoning and the sauce I could have gone without was the larrupin sauce which was greenish and honey mustard/Dijon based but that's just because I don't like mustard. The service was friendly, the food was good and I'd definitely come back because their prices are reasonable too! read more

We tried many different variations and I would venture to say that they overload their bagels with too many ingredients which rarely happens anywhere else. After a bad customer service experience at another local establishment I thought of how consistently positive, personable and welcoming pretty much everyone working here is. What a difference from the other place I went to this morning. Los Bagels is one of the busiest places in town, and they still welcome people in with a real effort to be, well, welcoming. Kudos. The hands-down best breakfast place we visited on a roadtrip through coastal OR and CA. No-fuss, busy, and great merch to boot! My only regret is that I didn't take home a t-shirt or a coozie. The bagels themselves were fresh, warm, and amply loaded with our respective ingredients. The secret here is the condiments...larrupin for the win! We left full and happy and fueled for the long return back to inland CA. I have been here many times since 2007. The bagels are a very good bagel, and there's healthy toppings/spreads. But... 1) the prices are not reasonable. 2) the bagels are not exceptional (so why the high price?) 3) they've caucasionized both the Mexican and Jewish foods. 4) There's little to do in Humboldt. And this little place seems important next to nothing. The staff is nice. The place is clean. In short: it's seems like a mom and pop eatery, but they still got that "mall edge". read more

For bagels or coffee, look no further than this funky little shop. Like everything in Arcata, it's got that laid back bohemian vibe - eclectic music pumping, some unique brands and goodies on the shelves and, most importantly, some quality fresh bagel choices and coffee. I went with a bagel with cream cheese and log and plenty of onion - my preferred way to start the day. It paired well with their latte, which I appreciated for being extremely hot and a nice hand warmer on an otherwise chilly morning. There is plenty of space to lounge around both inside and out. If you come through when it's sunny or even when it isn't, the front deck is a chill spot to sip and people watch. There aren't a lot of breakfast or bagel options in Arcata, so thankfully these guys have stepped in to fill the void. Came in for breakfast one morning - ordered the "Grampa Goren" on a toasted garlic bagel: cream cheese, smoked salmon, onions, and capers, plus a cup of dark roast coffee. The bagel was toasted perfectly, and was slathered with just the right amount of creamy cream cheese, a good amount of lox, and the crispness of the red onions coupled with the saltiness of the capers - it was perfect! Whenever I come to Arcata I have to have my fix of Los Bagels. The quality is unmatched and continues to be consistent over the years. I always go for the bacon & cheese on a garlic bagel and it's always superb. Are here this morning and my bagel was completely burnt. I understand the edges may be crispy but this bagel was burnt black top and bottom. They knew it was unacceptable and gave it to me anyway.
