Very bad experience from top to bottom....my sister and I came in at around 9pm on Sunday. We ordered the Tortilla soup and Enchiladas plate. We also ordered a extra side of avocado for the soup (avocado already comes with it) , the server said they were out of avocado but could do a side of guacamole, which was fine with us. The soup tasted like old chicken and wasn't good at all, and my chicken enchilada had a massive bone it that I bit into. I lost my appetite and just sat the bone on top of the enchilada. The sever never came back after bringing us our food. We never received a single refill and my sister had to drink from mine. Finally he brings the check and doesn't question the full bowl of soup or the bone on my enchilada. And turns out we were charged SEVEN dollars for a SIDE of guacamole. When avocado was supposed to already come with the soup. And I know for a fact a side of avocado is not 7 dollars and we were charged for an appetizer of guacamole. They were already having issues with their register so we didn't bother fighting the situation. But we won't be coming back. read more

This is a really amazing and authentic restaurant that reminds me of some of the most delicious tacos I've had in actual Guadalajara. The staff also speak English, which made things easier for my local family who only speak English who I brought with me. We had the mini asada tacos plate, cheese enchiladas, and a kids taco. It works a bit like the restaurants in Mexico, so don't expect the normal American experience. If you need the attention of the staff, signal/raise your hand. This is our go-to hole in the wall spot. The prices are great and you get a ton of food. We always order to go, so I can't comment on the dining in experience, but they always get our order right and complete in a timely manner. I've had the chicken tortilla soup, crispy tacos, and enchiladas. The soup- great flavor, lots of chicken, fresh toppings. It's always a good choice especially with the colder weather! The tacos, nice and crispy, I prefer the shredded chicken. Enchiladas- probably my least favorite of what I've tried. They were mediocre. It could use more flavor. Tried this restaurant for the first time, not impressed. Tacos are mediocre and service was not that great. My daughter had to return her pancakes, she found a hair. Our waitress was ok at first but after taking back the pancakes never returned to our table to ask if we needed anything. We asked another waitress to get us some coffee which she did with no problems. Unfortunately because of the service we will not be returning to this restaurant. I'm not sure what people like about this place and give it 5 stars, I guess people do not know what real good Mexican food is, my advice, travel down the road a bit and try Vazquez#3, food is much better quality and service is better. read more

I really love the nachos here alway delicious, and they're portions are large! Aguas frescas are always available, they always have plenty of waitresses but never attentive they take your order leave your food and never come back. Although they have a couple of nice ones.. The only one that's always attentive is the young guy that works the front with spiked hair he's the only that takes dishes and checks on us while dining in, But if that's all we get we are happy to have him. This place is amazing! It's one of the best taquerias I have been to. Their portions are large and very well priced, they have some great enchiladas and quesadillas. Their margaritas are super good as well! They bring you chips and salsa to start, and about 3 bottles of different salsas to choose from as well. Due to COVID, they haven't been giving the bottles of salsa but you can request to have them give you some. I highly recommend the green sauce! He would say this is good! I didn't realize until after he passed away that he missed the food of our family in Mexico. My go to local place. We have had almost everything on the menu except any seafood which we have not tried....YET. Their staff is awesome extremely welcoming, friendly and on point. I have never had to wave down a waitress for ANYTHING. I love their Menudo especially with extra lime and extra onion, cilantro and jalapeno. My teenagers always order breakfast but, I'm not an egg fan and they all are so yay win, win. Their Margaritas are on point, big and yummy. I ordered quite a few to take home during the pandemic on my glorious days off because working in a grocery store we had NO STAY AT HOME TIME. This place is awesome. The tacos are so damn good. Tripas, lengua, and beef cheek were cooked perfectly. And the portion is big for 2 bucks each. They seem to be using default corn tortillas, which is fine. They would be put over the top if they used homemade corn tortillas! Hehe. The 3 salsas they bring to the table are really good too. The red salsa they bring with the chips is damn good too. The chips themselves are great as well. Not greasy, not to thin. The cups are huge for the drinks. I like it. Since the lockdown, stay-at-home I've ordered from many local restaurants. I've been most impressed by Taqueria Guadalajara. I thought my total was a bit pricey, with delivery and fees and all, but my God. The amount of food they sent was unbelievable. I ordered the shrimp and chicken fajitas and some sides like guacamole, chips etc. I've got enough food to last me all weekend! And it's so good! We love this place. Everything is good; Food, service, attitude. The girls are always laughing and having fun with each other and the customers. They make every effort to ensure your visit is enjoyable and memorable as possible. Cynthia in particular is very welcoming and happy to see you walk through the door. Her service is outstanding and part of the reason we keep returning. Juanita is also an important part of this winning team. She's family to us. Do not eat here. If I could rate this place lower I would. We ordered enchiladas de mole and pechuga a la plancha. All the food looked good but one of the pieces from the grilled chicken smelled terrible, our best guess is that they cooked it in the same grill they cook their fish. Then, the chicken in the enchiladas had small pieces of bone and food was completely disgusting and the place felt very unsanitary. Also the service was terrible, and we were ignored from the time we got our food to the time we left. They also charge a 3% fee on your ticket if you pay with a credit/debit card and not cash. Especially with CoronaVirus, this restaurant is putting all of Austin at risk. I found significant larva and large flying bugs in my drinks there. Larva only means the bugs have been reproducing. I can only imagine the amount of germs that would be found in their kitchen! This experience also has horrible optics. My girlfriend and I each ordered a drink. Her drink was sickening sweet, and I asked for a remake (I even took a sip to verify). They didn't want to make a new one without charging me for the old one plus the new. It's not like she finished her drink before asking for a new one. After a big altercation, they finally agreed to remake it to go. I guarantee a lot of people would assume it was intentional.
