I think I have reviewed this place before but if not here goes. The garlic they use is so overpowering that you can't taste the food. I really like tex-mex but not when it is mixed with Italian. Maybe I am the weird one but why so much garlic especially in the hot sauce. I am sure it is good food but I could not get past the garlic. read more

Pretty standard fare for Tex Mex. The salsa was warm and very yummy. I was hungry and definitely inhaled more than I should have. My guy had a platter of cheese and beef enchiladas. I went here for lunch today and loved the food! I had the fajita chicken burrito, smothered in cheese. SO GOOD! Didn't enjoy the beans that came with the meal, but the rice was pretty good. Server could have been a little more attentive. My drink was empty for a bit and it took several minutes for my payment to be processed. Overall a good experience! read more

I mean the only thing I can knock this place for is the price. But that's a problem with tex-mex places in general. They use ingredients like chicken breast, rice, and beans that cost pennies but find a way to charge $12-15 or more for a plate that costs $1 to put together. Live music, delicious food, a beautiful view, and friendly service. All things that went in our experience at Los Cabos this weekend. Despite showing up in the middle of dinner rush on a Friday night, my husband and I were seated immediately. We ordered some queso and drinks, and were pleased with both! We even got to try their two salsas. One is relatively mild, and served cold. The other was a delicious roasted salsa served warm with a little more spice. It was something so unique that you don't find just anywhere, and it was delicious! Our server was super friendly, and very attentive, we were never waiting long for anything, and never had to ask for something we were missing out on, because it was all perfect! We were able to enjoy the live band on the enclosed patio, and while the noise level of the band and other patrons made it a bit too loud to hear, we enjoyed the experience. I tried the fried avocados while my husband went for a burrito, and we were both super satisfied, and extremely full! Bring your appetite, or plan to take some home. At this point the only reason me and my friends go is for the fabulous two man band and a couple other decent bands that play on the weekends. Management has absolutely destroyed this place in the past year. Service is ok, the wait staff is polite but doesn't check on you much and the food is alright. The drinks are expensive for the amount you get outside. They claim the little 8 oz cups is the same as the large margarita glasses but they are not. I understand the safety issue but to lie about the portion is just annoying. A few months ago I brought my dog as we were out walking and I was told by the host and manager that dogs are not allowed. I asked if we could just sit outside and the kid repeated himself in a belittling manner as if I didn't hear him. When I walked out I turned back and him and the manger were laughing at me. I see dogs there every time I go. Unfortunate to watch such a powerhouse of a spot turn to such a classlessley run establishment simply by hiring a manager that doesn't care about quality of service or the people they serve. But I guess that is bad leadership in a nut shell. read more

We went recently for a friend'a surprise birthday. They were almost late getting the table ready in time, but we all made it back to the spot in time to avoid spoiling the surprise. The service was good, but the food really under-delivered. We ordered the combo fajita platter for two and the chicken and steak tasted like it had been thawed and reheated in a microwave before making it onto the fajita platter. The skirt steak was probably about 70% gristle. The rice and beans? Easily yesterday's cooking...dry and flavorless. The margaritas we ordered were definitely under-poured or watered down. The patio looked fun and relaxing but the music was mostly 90's cover band stuff the night we were there. None of the experience was remarkable and we paid about $80 to be there. Next time, I'll be taking my cash somewhere else. There are definitely better Mexican restaurants in town. The patio is gorgeous but not worth the amount we spent to get subpar food and drinks. read more

After perusing the Friday night entertainment options, we decided on live music on the patio at Los Cabos. I expected a decent margarita and to be entertained, but I was pleasantly surprised by a very delicious meal also. I had a strawberry swirl margarita and my mom had the skinny margarita. She said it was the best skinny margarita she's had yet. Naturally we had queso to start which had a really good flavor. My mom had cheese and onion enchiladas which she said were tasty. My dad had chicken fajitas which I know were great because I could smell them and see the juices sizzling on the fajita pan. My entrée was nothing short of spectacular: camarones alambres, bacon wrapped grilled shrimp stuffed with jalapeño served with a sweet corn tamale cake, mango salsa, and rice and beans. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it, yum! The food was great, the band was fun and entertaining, and the service was great especially considering it was pretty loud on the patio. Los Cabos is what I look forward to when I head to Tulsa. I first discovered this restaurant during a sorority function and it was delicious. The atmosphere is great especially the patio in the summer. I have always had great service and feel taken care of when dining here. One the managers, Ryan is great! His personality and carisma are entertaining and he treats his staff with respect. The green salsa is amazing and always what I look forward too. My most recent visit I had the shrimp tacos and they were flavorful from the shrimp to the sauce/coleslaw mix. The margaritas are fantastic as well. I reccommend the "Horny Toad". If you are in the area go here for lunch or dinner! Great food, staff, and memories! read more

Went here in January for my Grandmother's eightieth birthday. There were a number of us and being an Irish clan, probably not the quietest nor least inebriated people there. The service never seemed lacking or exasperated by our antics, hell, they even played along with some of it! The atmosphere could have been a mere reflection of the company, but I thought well enough of it. The service was quick and courteous. I had the veggie enchiladas and asked ofr extra items inside. There was no hesitation in the "sure, we can do that". Everyone had nothing but good things to say regarding their meal Just a warning though, go easy on the chips, the portions are large! The board walk provides a nice stroll after dinner though I recommend warmer months than January. read more

As far as Mexican food goes I have to say that Los Cabos is serviceable but not great. However, I have to say that both the food at the atmosphere at this location is much better than the location in Broken Arrow. The staff was friendly and took care of our needs. We had a rather large party but we didn't wait too long for our food. I will definitely come back to this place in the future with a group but with only the family we would likely go elsewhere. No real complaints about anything but after having lived in Mexico it is tough for me to give an exceptional rating to franchise Mexican restaurants around here. read more

Los Cabos had failed in at least one location when they got a spot at the Riverwalk in Jenks and next door to Bass Pro shop in Broken Arrow. Due to patios at both location that over look water, and located in areas where upscale resturuants were sorely lacking, Los Cabos has found it's niche. Los Cabos is probably in the top 5 of mexican places in Tulsa. Great menu, great service and an awesome outside atmosphere. With all Mexican restaurants you have to start with the chips and salsa. IMO it's the single most important part of a mexican restaurant. In this part of the country we love chips and salsa. It's a staple in my diet and I crave it when overseas. Once In brasil I asked for chips and salsa at a "mexican place" and they brought me a bag of doritos "nacho cheese variety" and some tomato sauce of some sort. I didn't know they had doritos in brasil. We like chips and salsa so much that my cousin Jamie and my sister Lindsay once got in one of those open hand fights over "who liked chips and salsa more". No one got hurt but their skin was as red as a Swedish couple that had been in Cancun for a week. Los Cabos salsa has two types of salsa....one warm chipotle one and one more traditional cold one. They are both awesome and they serve hot fresh chips. The outside area is just great along the river. One night Keith, Candy and I stayed there until closing time....just drinking tecates and such. I only had a few because I had to drive. Keith and Candy kept talking about Bo Van Pelt and wine country. Which was fine because I like wine and Bo. He's probably my favorite golfer. I've followed him at a lot of tournaments and like to yell "go pokes"! My other friend Jonny followed him into a restroom once to introduce himself and tell him that they are neighbors. I've also been to the one in BA. I went there with my friend Nate once. He usually has a few beers for lunch so you have to have separate checks and not split "right down the middle". I really like Nate but I can't pay for half his beers every time we lunch. Back to the BA location. It's nice too but I don't understand the outside area. There is basically a un natural shaped pond and the highway behind that. I've never understood square ponds outside of office buildings and shopping areas. Is it for irrigation or do they really think this makes for a more pleasant working environment? Overall their food is very good. I recommend the Mexico City Style Tacos. You get 4 to an order and they are awesome. read more

The entrance to the restaurant is in the river side of the building. Loved the view with the River Walk. Lots of outdoor seating. Large interior seating areas, pretty quiet for the number of people there. Didn't like all the chipped appetizer plates or the ultra chin chips. The salsa was thin and contained tomatillos which tasted okay. The lunch chicken fajitas pretty good with a mountain or a bland rice and beans. I chose borracho beans because they sounded tasty with all the ingredients, but they just tasted like pinto beans. The flour tortillas were tough. Big pile of good pico de gallo and cheese. My husband said his enchiladas and black beans were good. He didn't care for the chips either. Nice server and service. Had a 1 1/2 and 7 year old in tow. They seemed to enjoy it and they didn't seem to bother anyone. We were seated with a view of the window, outside a half walled interior section. The design of the building minimizes annoyance! Don't know if I would go back, but would definitely say it is worth a try. read more

We really enjoy going to Los Cabos on a nice night and sitting out on the patio listening to the band. However, sometimes it can be very packed and hard to get a table. Be patient, because it is usually pretty quick to get a table. The drinks are good and the salsa is OK. We like to share the fajitas, perfect amount of food. They do not take reservations except for large groups. The location is what makes Los Cabos fun. The Jenks Riverwalk is on the ups and it is nice to walk down the Riverwalk after dinner. It is really nice when there are bands in the summer and there is water in the river! read more

We needed to accommodate a gluten allergy, and our waitress surprised us with a special one-page gluten-free menu and special gluten-free chips. We'll definitely keep Los Cabos in mind when we need to work with food allergies in the future. We enjoyed good service and good food. I had heard mixed reviews of Los Cabos from my dad. He lives in Jenks and has a lot of business meetings there, and from what he tells me it is often hit or miss. I would say that my Los Cabos experience was a "hit." We sat in the covered patio outside, so we got to experience the benefit of the warm air and sunshine (which is a BIG deal for me since I've been suffering through a gray Ohio winter for the last three months) but were protected from the wind. From what I saw the inside was very nice as well- it was trendy but in a laid-back, casual way. If I lived in Jenks or Tulsa I think that I would probably make Los Cabos a nightlife spot. The service was very fast and very friendly- my glass was always refilled before it was empty and everyone I interacted with on the staff was very amiable. Now, on to the food... THE GOOD: I ordered the mango chicken salad and it was quite good. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and there was a lot of it, which sounds like it should be a given but often is not when you order salads at a restaurant. There was a sizeable portion of grilled chicken on top that was warm but not so hot that it wilted the lettuce (I hate it when that happens!). The salad also included walnut pieces, leeks, and a topping of mango salsa with cilantro. The dressing was spicy and did a very good job of complimenting the mango salso. Also, the chips were delicious. This might not sound like a big deal, but it is to me when I eat at a Mexican restaurant. They were obviously freshly fried- they were thin, crispy, perfectly salted, and warm. Yuumm! THE BAD: The chicken was a little on the salty side, so I didn't end up eating very much of it. Also, one of the two salsas tasted like spicy chipotle dirt. THE UGLY: Something in my meal had a LOT of raw garlic in it. My guess is that it was either the salsa or the salad dressing. Regardless, while it was very delicious going down, it made my breath for the rest of the afternoon VERY unpleasant. This is just something to keep in mind in case you go to Los Cabos on a hot date and might need to have presentable breath for post-meal activities :D. I went to Los Cabos while I was visiting Tulsa. It was Cinco de Mayo and we had to go to a Mexican restaurant! It was extremely busy, but not anymore than any other Mexican Restaurant that night. The restaurant is large enough to hold a lot of people. The servers are quick to make their rounds, even when at full capacity. I got the brisket tacos, and they were delicious. Don't expect slices of brisket though, it's not like that. I do wish they were bigger, as they were the best part of the meal. read more
