Hubby found this hidden gem and ordered a couple of burritos for us to share as our after midnight snack. Not too many establishments are open this late, so it was nice to find a spot that has birria, tacos, baked potatoes, and seafood! He got the Los Cuates and surf and turf and both burritos were loaded and full of flavor. I would love to try their aguachile and other seafood items next time!

The Corona brothers know exactly what they are doing! I came in while visiting the area for work and it was an easy decision to come in considering the number and quality of reviews. They were very engaging and welcoming, and the food was top notch. Their endearing story about taking their father's business and adding their stamp and flavor was enough to make me a returning customer. Great food, fantastic service, and a damn good Michelada.

Also got the camaron rockas with chipotle sauce on top it was my favorite. My buddy got the stuffed potatoes stuffed with shrimp and carne asada, I had a bite ! My friend loved it and he also had the shrimp guayow which I had a shrimp and it was also amazing ! Server was great they explained the menu to us ! Definitely coming back here !

Everything was impeccable! We came for dinner for my husband's birthday and the owner(s) were so wonderful. The service and hospitality was not only great but the food was delicious! We had a few items, tacos, burritos, all with seafood elements which we loved. The perron, pulpo and shrimp tacos were so flavorful. Thank you for a delicious dinner and good time! My husband Jorge had a spectacular birthday! Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Super cute and divey ambiance for an out of towner. I appreciated the outdoor space, limited menu, and casual conversation with the bartender. I asked for recommendations and he provided...good ones too! Fish taco was good because it was fried but actually fish wasn't that great honestly... and lettuce swap was a piece of cabbage and not lettuce. Perron was really unique and solid with great flavor. 3 seas had outstanding flavor albeit pretty "sea" like on the border of fishy. Veggie potato was a super let down. I like the idea but if you're going to have a whole potato section, I expect the potato to be cooked perfectly and this wasn't. Maybe one data point but I would not repeat that purchase, stick with the tacos. Good beer, super reasonably priced, not great bathrooms but oh well.

We came here at 11:40 AM since Yelp had 11:30 as the opening time, but it was closed. We walked around the area and as we were about to leave we saw people walk in this was around 12:20. We looked up their Instagram and saw they advertised 10 am as their opening time for a Saturday. We walked in and the gentleman working said we could sit anywhere we wanted. After some time we realized he was the only one working until almost 1or so. They seemed to be out of a few items based on what we tried ordering and what the table behind us tried ordering. We opted to order: the cucaracha shrimp, a surf and turf taco, shrimp taco and a shrimp with octopus (this one tasted too fishy) and an asada baked potato. The gentleman comes back and tells us that he's out of the baked potatoes, but a few minutes later comes back and says he only has half of one. That he would start working on it and if I would like to order something else. Which I ended up adding a birria taco. The cucaracha shrimp tasted amazing and definitely worth the price. The chips and salsa were delicious as well. The other items were okay a bit over priced for the portions and taste. They had reggaetón music blasting the entire time. When we were going to pay the twin of the gentleman who was helping us the entire time brought our check and said we were getting 10% off the baked potato because it was on the smaller side. Which left us super confused because we were told he only had half a potato left when we had initially placed our order. Not sure if they were understaffed but it's definitely not a good idea to have one person operating the front and back of the house on a Saturday. A suggestion would be to make note of items that aren't available or bad (we were told the horchata was bad after we ordered it) prior to opening so they can be 86, which will avoid having customers going back to the menu a few times. This place has a lot of potential but it seems they are taking some shortcuts to makeup for the lack of staffing which is compromising the food quality.

    Los Cuates Burrito

Just okay for me. The burritos were decent but very small for $16 each. I thought my man's surf and turf burrito was much better than the los Cuates - it was a bit on the "fishy" side and not in a good way. I ordered the cucumber auga fresca, which was tasty but quite viscous. They were out of soda water which I would've liked to have mixed with it. The server never brought my fiancé his water until we had asked for it several times and were almost done with our meal. It's in a cute location right on the main strip in town. Convenient if you are in the area but in my opinion way overrated.

3.5 Stars: Ate here on a Sunday afternoon. Not super busy, but most of the tables were full with a mix of families and adults. Clean interior with loud reggaeton music playing in the background. Ordered the Las Cuates (mix of spice tuna and shrimp) and surf and turf burrito. Good flavor. Medium sized burrito for $16.00. For reference: tacos are about $5-7 a piece or you could get 3 tacos for $14.00. I know about inflation, etc., but it give the product, I felt like everything was 20% overpriced. With so many taco spots in Chula Vista, I would explore other options before coming back.

Great food and the owners are brothers and they are extremely sweet! My friend and I were taken care of with delicious food and love how each day has a special and especially Thursdays there's all you can eat with alcohol included!

Freshly made fried (white sea bass) fish tacos. A tender and good sized portion of fish. One of the best in the area if not the best. Service was quick. The atmosphere felt a little empty for an early Friday evening.

Food was delishhhh!! Loved the shrimp cocktail and the micheladas were to die for!! Aguachile was like an explosion of flavors ‍ also loved that we could choose our level of spicy 1-10 ! Super convenient when you suffer from heartburn The main reason I loved this spot so much was for the service!!! Isabella was the best! I haven't been in a restaurant in a while where you can tell they enjoy what they do! Immediately thought, "dang I want this girl to be my friend" hahaha! Give that woman a raiseeeeee please

Hey there! I just had to share this with you - I recently tried some of the best Mexican seafood I've ever had at Los Cuates. This is my second review, and I have to say, I've been amazed again. Los Cuates is truly special and a must-visit spot when you come down to Chula Vista 3rd Avenue. This just keeps getting better. Can't wait for you to try it out too!! Some of the best service and good atmosphere!!!!

The inside has a nice jungle/plant vibe -- warm, inviting decor that feels intentional without being overdone. Service stood out right away. Our waiter was attentive and checked in often without hovering. I ordered the Pupu Platter during happy hour, and it's a smart move if you want variety. It's just enough food for one and gives you a sampling of different menu items. The Korean-style wings had good flavor and just the right level of spice, though I wish they were a little crispier. The sliders were straightforward -- nothing groundbreaking -- but well made and satisfying. Fries came out crispy, which I always appreciate. My wife had the poke nachos, and those were the sleeper hit. I was skeptical about the pico at first, but it actually added depth and balance. The sauce tied everything together nicely. We also ordered a mocktail and one of their signature drinks, and both were well crafted. Overall, a great dinner with good energy, solid execution, and attentive service. A few small tweaks could push it to five stars, but we'd definitely come back.

From the start, our server was inattentive and seemed completely dismissive when we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. There was no acknowledgment at all, which made the occasion feel overlooked. To make matters worse, on a Friday night they were out of all draft beer, which was surprising for a restaurant and bar that promotes its tropical cocktails and lively atmosphere. Dessert was the biggest letdown. The mango sticky rice was honestly one of the worst versions we've ever had--poorly prepared and lacking flavor. The chocolate cake was so dry that it was practically inedible. The tropical décor and hidden tiki speakeasy "X" are interesting concepts, but the poor service and disappointing food overshadowed what should have been a special birthday celebration. We left feeling let down and will not return.

Then he went one step further and predicted the final score: 6-4. My wife laughed and asked, "By the way... what's your name?" He replied, "Angel." Fast forward to game day.
