If you enjoy delicious and well priced Mexican food, then this is the place for you! Their menu is stocked with any possible Mexican food craving you can possibly have. And as I mentioned, at a great price! I've usually stopped in on the weekend and they do tend to be fairly busy. But despite, we have always been waited on and served in a timely manner. They also have live music on weekends which sometimes is a little too loud but nothing I can't tolerate. They're ready to accommodate large parties with their spacious dining room and huge patio. Chips and salsa are brought out to each table before the meal and their tortillas are pretty yummy! I try to get something different from their menu at each visit and have yet to be disappointed. Just got back from eating here. Never been, so I wasnt sure if I was going to like it. When we got there it wasnt that busy so seating and service was fast. Im one to read the whole menu before I order, so fajitas and burritos were out of the question because you can get those at TC's(Taco Cabana). What I ended up ordering was the 5 mini tacos which comes with a side of borracho beans, and Im glad I did. They double up on the mini corn tortillas that they serve them on and they are not cheap with their meat, and all topped with queso fresca (white cheese). Served with about 5 slices of lime, chopped cilantro and onions on the side. Those little suckers were not bad at all. Finished the plate and the bill was cheap. Try it once, read the whole menu, and dont order anything that you could get at taco bell. (i.e. crispy tacos or burritos, maybe just me but thats Boooooring) -Good Eats!! read more

I've been here twice, and the food was very good. Service was good, although they were very busy. I've only been here for lunch, so can't say about the music, etc., on the weekends. The chips and salsa they bring for free is great. The chips are homemade and fresh. This is the type of place I like to take out of town people who want to try a place where "the locals" hang out and food is authentic. I like the laid-back atmosphere inside. Even with a full restaurant, there was only a 10 minute wait! Had the queso con carne- very tasty! Even had a piece of potato in it. Chips are very hard. Salsa is good. Had the crispy taco plate. ****** THIEVES******* My Date night was going well until the Waiter lost my card for about 20 minutes . Yes he was apologetic but that didn't fix the issue of my card being missing for 20 minutes. Eventually the manager reviewed the camera and saw where he left my debit card on the ledge with some receipts completely on the other side of the restaurant.The manager never came to speak to me about the incident, when my fiancé tried to talk to her she didn't speak English. Our date night continued but I woke up at 4:14 am with a notification that my debit card was trying to be used on a Uk website for $314.00!!! Talking about Livid! Now I am without my debit card for 7 days while I wait for a replacement. I am highly dissatisfied with my experience! Not only did he misplaced my debit card for over 20 minutes someone also had access to my card information and tried to use it. I will never patronize this establishment again. read more

On our second visit at dinner (5.30 pm Friday) I got the Zapata plate which had cheese enchiladas and carne guisada. Both sauces were extremely bland. Aside from needing a bit more salt, the flavor was just washed somewhere far away. The table salsa had a good flavor without being horribly spicy, but chips were food. Carne guisada was a bit fatty but not too bad. The guacamole was bland as well. In the end, a great place for breakfast but does poorly on the standard dishes of lunch/dinner. Good food. Basic good food. However, it's always packed and superloud but then they add in live music that can really start to drown out whatever conversation you can begin to hear, but alas... I continue to go because the food is on point. The Chilaqueles con Chorizo was wonderful (before I became vegetarian) and a regular staple for me. Second time we've eaten here. The first time was very good so we went back. It's been several months due to the pandemic. Not a disappointment! Food was excellent! Even though I had driven by Los Generales for a few years, I had never actually popped in to give them a try. Sure I noticed that the parking lot was always packed and that they had karaoke on certain nights (which I love), but I had just never thought to give them a try. I have been there a few times now and must say that both the food and the service are great. I highly recommend the beef fajitas. The meat is so tender that it practically melts in your mouth. Nothing I hate more that chewy, tough beef fajitas. The tortillas seem homemade and the rice and beans are pretty authentic. They do have a pretty decent happy hour and the size of the margaritas is crazy-huge! Anyway, I had to deduct the one star because every time that I have come here and walked in the door to be sat, I have stood there awkwardly and waited for someone to notice that we are standing there. The food was very good 1st time had the beef fajitas very good choice, but the corn tortillas are some of the best that i have had. While enjoying my food, a lady at the table across from me got a shrimp cocktail. After seeing this i knew that would be what i ordered the next time in. I was right the next visit i had the shrimp cocktail, and it was great with all the right fixings. it was spicy, but i love spicy. A friend had the shrimp diablo and it was very hot and very good. Last i must mention the Top Shelf Margaritas, a must have. Better deal at happy hour but worth the regular price. read more

Corn tortillas are homemade wouldn't come back for anything else the salsa is runny and not spicy, the chips are not fresh a little hard and greasy taste, from a 1-5 I give the food a 2.5 nothing special reminds me of Las Palapas. Stick with Chapala on Oconner or Las Carrertas on Perrin Bietel for some real Mexican food. Borracho beans tasteless and refried beans looked watery, the rice was nothing special. The Rojo de puerco was tasty but the portions are small for the price you pay. We have been here many times when they 1st opened about 6 years ago but we haven't been back since today..would not recommend. Better luck next time...hopefully. read more

We live nearby and this is the place we frequent and are happy they're here! I think the puffy tacos are some of the best I've tasted. Atmosphere is nice, bathrooms are small but clean.
