The first place I got to sit down and have a GREAT meal for the first phase of opening up. Lots of places around to choose from, and I was just craving Mexican food. I base a lot of my decisions on ratings these days, and this place did not disappoint. Menu is plentiful with tons of options from appetizers to full on entrees. They have delicious queso to start with, and I opted for the Chicken chimichanga. I also split a pitcher of XX Beer and for the price of $10 for a pitcher, I was fully satisfied. This place has gone downhill so bad and is just a shell of what it used to be. I used to come here once a week. Had an off experience last time so came back a couple weeks later to give it another chance. Service was poor and slow. Sat down at 12:15 for lunch, food arrived around 1:00. Watered down would be the best way to describe the food. The salsa is watered down. The queso is pretty much white water. The enchilada sauce again just watery. Margarita had no tequila or flavor. We were running errands and past hungry and I found this hidden gem on 66th street with "lunch restaurants open now" on Yelp at 4:30. I was so surprised that it was packed late afternoon on a Saturday. The food is outstanding and the place is decorated so cheerfully! We are now stuffed and having a late siesta back at home! My dish was very good! Grilled shrimp on a bed of rice and peppers, with cheese. The shrimp had a very nice fresh flavor. The margarita tasted homemade, rather than from a mix, but not sure about that! I would recommend this restaurant! It is a little hard to spot as it is in the set-back area of a small plaza. Why am I giving this place a 4-star. I definitely say this is a place that I would like to come back and give another chance to. Sadly doing a little to no carb diet is not easy when going to a Mexican restaurant and I definitely did not get a chance to try my go-to favorite which is enchiladas. My fiance on the other hand really loved this place. The service was very nice and the restaurant has a very festive look and is very big for groups to dine at. I got the Mexican coal style bowl which truthfully some parts I liked and some parts I weren't a fan of. I didn't really care for the steak as a little bit tough but the chorizo and shrimp were very delicious. My fiance got the enchiladas and a taco and he said the beef was perfect. He also really enjoyed the chips and salsa. Although I was not a fan of my meal I definitely would come back and like to try some of the other items on the menu. Overall I've heard great things about this place and the service was great so it's definitely a place to check out if you are in the area. read more

The food was good and the service was nice. I ordered flautas and it came as a whole meal with rice. I also had the Mexican guacamole (see photo). I ordered sour cream on the side and it was a really big serving worth the extra $1.50 The waiter checked in with me regularly to make sure I was satisfied. My only disappointment was that none of the staff knew the Wi-Fi password and I really needed it to get directions somewhere. (Indeed without the GPS, I got lost after ) The place was neat and clean and the staff was always prompt with taking care of the customers and cleaning up. *My recommendation is for all staff to know the wi-fi password, and maybe even have it posted by the cash register, or take the lock-password off of the Wi-Fi. You're looking at a $11.25 burrito that should have been more like $5.00. I thought I was getting a dinner plate with rice & beans but as you can tell it was just a burrito. With very little steak in it. It was all beans, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. It was advertised on the chalk board as being on special for $11.25 but the menu price was $11.50. They knocked off a whole quarter. My wife got a lunch special that consisted of a taco, enchilada & beans for $6.00. Someone needs a course in menu pricing. I give the place 1 star because it was clean. The wife was super pleased. I was highly disappointed. I just didn't fall in love with Guerrero Mexican Grill. Some close friends really love it here but I just didn't feel the same. The menu has your pretty typical Mexican favorites and their complimentary chips and salsa is decent, however, it's nothing special. The refried beans and sides just seem to be straight from the can and lack flavor/unique flavor. Give me flavors of Mexico! Give me spice! Prices can't be beat. Parking is pretty good.
