Terrible place, will never visit AGAIN!!! Ordered a #2 which is the 3 Chicken Taco plate, the boy at the register brought me a #3 with Taquitos. I told him that it was not what I ordered and he proceeded to tell me it was, after going back and forth I asked him to please bring me the #2 plate as I ordered. He left, came back and said the person preparing the food said there is nothing she could do and that I needed to eat it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, it's if it's not what I ordered I shouldn't be forced to eat it. So, I asked them for a refund and was told that they don't give out refunds and that I needed to speak to a manager. When I asked to speak to the manager they said "oh, they are not here". So, aside from the food NOT being what I ordered, I was unable to even settle on eating the food because it had Sour Cream and Tomatoes which I have sever allergies to and would result in a hospital trip. This is close to where I work, and is decent. I do like their salsa bar, although it gets decimated around lunch time by the crowd, so you may not get what you wanted. What a pleasant surprise! Los Jalapenos #3 is a diamond in the rough. I thought I could only get good authentic Mexican food in East LA. Not the boring & sterile corporate office parks of the Inland Empire. I had the Mojarra Frita, shrimp cocktail, 3 carne asada tacos, chips & salsa and a few Coronas. Well, I came here on an impromptu lunch date with my husband on a Tuesday... He suggested Tex-Mex as a nearby option and I agreed, since we're in California and Tex-Mex is rare (for obvious reasons - haha!). When we pulled up, it was quite apparent this is not, in fact Tex-Mex, so as any "good" wife would do, I informed him that this is Cali-Mex and real Mex, but I rarely meet a taco I don't like, so I reluctantly got over my hangry diva attitude and stepped inside... It's pretty casual inside. I've seen taquerias that looked shadier, but I've definitely visited cleaner looking ones as well, and as my late grandpa used to tell me, "the atmosphere isn't why we go places because ya don't eat the furniture..." The smell of the food cooking wasn't incredibly overpowering (or pleasantly aromatic), but not really well ventilated either, so we knew we'd be taking advantage of the picnic tables or front before heading back to work... The menu has all the standards: tacos, burritos, tamales, enchiladas, sopes, chile rellenos, tortes and menudo. I opted for the sopes al pastor combo; my husband opted for the tamale combo. When we got our food, they gave me a spoon for my sopes combo...? (They dole out the utensils, straws, etc., presumably to save waste). A spoon would probably work with some sopes, but not so much with these. They had apparently been cooked and sitting for awhile, so they were lukewarm, tough, oily discs... The al pastor was also lukewarm and a little tough, although the flavor was nice, if a little milder than my preference. The beans weren't hot enough to melt the cheese that topped them, nor was the rice... But I was starving so I went ahead and ate about half of it anyway, praying I don't become victim to food borne pathogens in the middle of my shift or sitting in that fabulous So-Cal traffic later. My husband liked his but was adamant that the food is usually much better and hot when he's been there. He said it's usually a lot busier too, so am giving them the benefit of three stars, in hopes that I just stopped in when the C-Team was on duty. Will I go back? Probably not, when there are so many great taquerias everywhere you look. That said, if you're looking for a simple, quick, cheap meal, this would definitely do the trick. read more

Been coming here for the past two weeks and every time I walked out happy. I lover their home made tortilla chips and the salsas are amazing. This place has daily specials and the prices are great. Taco Tuesday never fails and they also have Micheladas for less than 5 bucks, what a great combination!!!!! The ladies are very friendly and food gets to the table in no time. It's my first time here really doesn't look that good from the outside. As soon as you step in you see a great whole in the wall the food is cheap and delicious really homemade tasting. They sell beer if you want to come for lunch and it's a nice little place close to my school. I came in at 915am left by 945 quick and delicious. I have gone to many dives but this place is in the running for the worst food ever. The carne asada was so tough and full of gristle that it made me wonder how many days old it was and what the lowest grade was for human consumption. The guacamole was a weird shade of brown green that clearly was at least a couple days old. Even the chips were stale. If you're hungry for Mexican food, avoid this place like the plague or risk an upset and unhappy stomach that'll have you praying on the porcelain throne. read more

The carne asada sope plate wasn't bad. It comes with rice and beans and the beans that day were pretty bland. I had to really salt them up to bring them back to life. Claudia was at the register and she was beyond rude to me, I could not believe it. She literally told me that I can stop going there if I didn't like it. I am paying customer, how can you say that to somebody. She also said to me it was my fault. I was asking the cooks for the name of the owner so that I can complaint about her, even though I was not talking TO Claudia, she answered, Raul, making a point that she didn't care that I was going to complain about her. I tried reaching out to him but he is pretty hard to catch. I sent him a couple of messages on FB and they went seen, but ignored. This place can be a hit if you get good employees there. Never going back, never taking my mom there, nobody. I dropped in on this restaurant with a co-worker when we were nearby for a work event. It was clearly a busy stop for lunch time, and you could tell that the clientele came from different Industries in the area. It is a typical small Mexican restaurant with a huge variety of menu items. They have a visual menu posted with pictures and numbers associated with them so ordering is easy. The line moves quickly and when your food is ready it is brought to your table. They have a few small tables inside, including the booth where I sat. They have breakfast items available during the day, as one of my colleagues ordered the chilaquiles. I had a sope with carne asada and it was good, not great. If you're in the area and looking for something for lunch other than a burger or sandwich, this might be the place for you to stop by. I love this little place. They offer all types of yummy Mexican food like tacos, tortas, burritos and much more. The parking lot gets a bit crowded and there's not much room to be able to eat inside this restaurant. You walk in and you pick out what you want and usually the stuff is halfway prepared like the chile relleno was already cooked, she just threw it on the grill to warm up then proceeded to stuff it in a tortilla to make my burrito.
