This is honestly a hidden gem. I was a little skeptical since it's literally attached to a gas station and liquor store but inside is really nice and updated. Our server was really nice and I like that they give you a generous portion of salsa. We were there for lunch so we got the lunch fajitas and a combo meal. The cheese dip was also good and thick. Our server was good but she disappeared for a bit after we received our food. I would come back again if I was in the area. read more

Service has not been great the last two times we have gone. Both times the fajitas for 2 was ordered and both times no tortillas came with the order. Also neither time did the waitress come back to the table to check on things so we were not able to even request the missing tortillas. I understand being under staffed but they really need to do better. It was not busy either time. We were there during the week at 5pm. It really is unacceptable for the waitress to ignore the table. Jennifer was our server and she was very friendly and efficient. Excellent shrimp fajitas and enchiladas!!! The cashier found out we never tasted ochata so she gave us a sampling. Very sweet of her. Don't let the gas station and liquor store next to it throw you off, this is one of the hidden gems in the Greer/Taylors area. I have been coming here since it opened 5 years ago and have nothing but great things to say about this place. The owners are wonderful people and their staff works really hard. It blows my mind that they can take a table of 10's order without writing anything down and the food comes out exactly how it's ordered and fast. Even with majority of the seats in the restaurant filled, we have never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes to get our food. Hot, fresh and delicious every single time we come here! Nothing better than spending all day fishing at Lake Robinson and be able to drive across the street for dinner. Definitely recommend Los Mayas for your Mexican fix! read more

Decided to try this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. They have a small salsa bar with lots of choices, and they also bring fresh hot and mild salsa to your table. The service was great. The food didn't come out right away; which sounds counter intuitive, but when the food comes out too fast at a Mexican restaurant, it makes me think it is just off a buffet type line in the kitchen. It took about 12-15 minutes for the food to get to us, which is industry standard. And the food was DELICIOUS. I ordered the beef chimichanga. It was piping hot, filled with seasoned beef and covered with cheese. Also, go on a Saturday night. DJ Roberto hosts Karaoke. Lots of great singers and a fun atmosphere. I will be back! read more

Solid three stars. Food is good, but not great. Service is spotty, sometimes good and sometimes you may wait and wait. Fajitas were tasty but you get 2 tortillas so asked for more...bill came and it was a $ .90 up charge...at least pre warn me. Lots of families and large tables so it can get noisy but the bar area is large and good for a quieter time. House margarita was good for $6.25 and don't give me a headache so that's another plus. No Covid acknowledgement or actions to ensure cleanliness cost it a star. read more

Food has generally been ok in the past and they wore mask. Not many restaurants to choose from nearby. But to my horror, none of the workers had on mask. I did not drive or would have left immediately. Waitress kept breathing across the table. I ask the manager why they had no mask he just smiled and shrugged. Usually, the perception of value by consumers in restaurants is predicated on these being delivered skillfully and concurrently. Los Maya's had 4-star food but only managed a 2-star service performance when I went. I hate that for the cooks. [spoken like Ron Burgundy] Justifications - ASSEMBLE! So the wait staff was way underprepared for the fairly busy dinner service on a Monday night, and I don't fault anyone for being overextended. Clearly there was a bit too much traffic for our conspicuously inexperienced waitress to aptly manage, and that's not a knock on her. What IS a knock on her was her questioning and bantering with one of our party about whether or not he actually needed the extra plate he asked for. Why take up a foolish argument? Just bring another plate, right?? Bless her little heart, if you know what I mean. Beyond that, there was a nice-sized, juicy, black inclusion in the uppermost ice cube of my MIL's margarita. She told the gal that she lost her appetite looking at it and asked if she'd just take it back and remove it from the bill. We saw some eye rolling and mouth running with the front-of-housers after that. Again, bless her heart. I sure enjoyed my food, though. Chimichangas and my wife's burrito Maya were excellently prepared, and their salsa picante was muy rico! It's always a shame to see a great product tainted by service inadequacy. I really feel for 'em. PS - the apostrophe in Los Maya's represents a catastrophic failure of proper English punctuation usage so malignant that it actually spread into a completely different language...and ruined it, too. I live a hop, skip and a jump from the lake and there have been others who have tried and failed at this location. So you can imagine my hesitation when a friend suggested we lunch there. WAS I SURPRISED!!! Food was great and server was delightful. I guess it's because I spoke in Spanish!! They all were so amicable. Even after I ate and needed a glass of water to take a pill, they were very accommodating. I WILL BE GOING BACK AND I HOPE THEY ARE SUCCESSFUL! read more

We just left and I must say this place is horrible. The waiter hardly understood English and when we asked about using 2 coupons he said he'd check and said it was fine. I asked for a to go cup and never go it. Once the bill came he didn't take off anything from the coupon. When we went to pay we told the girl working the front and she just said "oh he didn't understand" you can't use 2 coupons. Then we couldn't split the bill either to use 1 each. It's ridiculous that if they can't understand, then they shouldn't be working there. I'm sorry but how can you communicate with your waiter? Also, the front desk girl wasn't nice either. She should of taken it off bc he said it was fine! But she didn't. The food is ok.. I'd rather go to Moe's to be honest. Never again will I step foot in this place. read more

My mother and ate lunch there but unfortunately we both got food poisoning. I was very ill for several days. I won't ever go there again. I'm still sick and had to delay my flight home for Christmas. I could not get out of bed for more than 5 min. We had the Speedy Gonzales plate and churros. Something was wrong with the meat or the crepe in the churros. So disappointing. I say that because although the food isn't bad, the restaurant is always dirty...inside and out. The second dining room smells like urine and the music is too loud to enjoy conversation with friends. We politely asked them to turn the music down since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. They turned it down a tiny bit and never asked us if it was better. We have tried this restaurant 4 times. It's very close to us and we wanted to like it. However, just no flavor. You can't even smell the fajitas when they come out of the kitchen. Each time we have tried something different, in hopes of finding something we enjoy. But, nope. Every time it is bland. And this is coming from someone who doesn't salt their food. Last time we were there, on of the waitress stood at the hostess stand, flipped her hair over, put it in a ponytail and then wrapped it into a bun. Then she went straight to a table and took an order. The last 2 times, we have had a great waitress. I believe she may also be the bartender. The other times, our order has been wrong and drinks were never refilled unless we ask. It just can't recommend this location. There are a ton of other Mexican restaurants just a little further away that has great food. It is definitely worth making a drive, to a different restaurant, to get tasty food. read more

Ok ok, I am done! I am sick of the mistreatment I have received from this so called restaurant. I order atleast once a month and every single darn time it comes out wrong! Every single time I repeat myself on the phone during ordering, every single time my husband repeats the order when he picks it up, every single time he has to return inside or drive back after getting home and they act like we are in the wrong! This time they even made him pay 3 more dollars on his return trip for the rice they forgot to add the first time! And the person argued with him saying she told me on the phone it didn't come with rice! No honey, when I ordered I said twice that I wanted 2 beef enchiladas with Rice and only thing you said was it came with 3 enchiladas and I said that was fine. But how many times do I and my husband have to say MILD salsa before I actually get mild? I'm just done, I love Mexican food, but you have terrible service. Never again. read more

Love our Los Maya because it is always fresh and delicious. We've been there 3 times in the last 2 weeks and tried something different each time. No complaints with guacamole,sauces, seasoning, attention from wait staff or menu items. It is a great value for the price and the owners take great pride in their product.
