I wish the tacos had some kind of wet dressing on them, because the tacos were a little dry. Even salsa would've been nice. The meat was very flavorful. A friend had chile con queso that I tried, and it was very good. A group of 12 of us went on a Sunday 1pm, and though the restaurant was busy, we got a table promptly without wait. Asked for fried chicken on the super salad. It was even on my receipt as fried. Instead, it came with grilled. It was hard and dry and tasted like ****! The cucumbers were mushy and old and clear. The avocado was bruised and brown. It is supposed to come with 2 cheeses. There was zero cheese. I asked for ranch but it came with, what I think was, tartar sauce or just rancid ranch. Literally the only component of the salad that was ok was the potato, lettuce and carrot. I should have just Yeeted the salad instead of feeding it to the raccoons outside. I think they are sick now! This is el cheapo Tex-Mex obviously cutting costs with ingredients because it shows in the food. Warm chips but paper-thin. Red and green salsas were cold and thin but well-seasoned, most likely out of a bucket from a vendor as salsa was the only seasoned food here. Enchiladas were bland, side beans had a lard flavor. A la carte pork tamale was almost tasteless. Floors and tables were clean but the walls were very dirty and scratched up. I normally give a place a couple of tries before reviewing, but I just have no desire to return here. I will say that the service was prompt and friendly. Delicious! We stopped in not really headed here but hadnt tried it so thought why not. Its spacious inside smelled clean and we were greeted immediately. Expansive and affordable menu we opted for the queso flameado with chorizo. Amazing!! So flavorful and huge portion. My husband ordered the pollo blanco, a large cutlet maybe 12oz topped with cheese and some peppers/onions with rice and beans and giant homemade tortillas. I opted for a parillada of sorts with rice beans and typical accompaniments. Grilled plate had sausage, chicken and beef fajita and Mexican style ribs. The flavor definitely tasted like the meat was sourced from a carniceria. Service was great, timely refills and check and helped bag our generous leftovers!! This place is a hit or miss on some of there items I ordered the mole plate and my husband ordered the caldo de camarón the soup was warm and shrimp kinda cold had a taste as if it was reheated from being in the freezer. My mole chicken was still bleeding and the mole sauce had no taste, the rice bland and beans tasted like lard, there lemonade tasted like water and my husbands beer was warm we had to stop eating and pay I'm talking about literally rushing out but had to wait 15 minutes before our waiter came to get our check we packed up the food thru it out at there dumpster but walking out of the restaurant my husband vomited the food out he also turned pale so did I. This is a truly amazing, hole-in-the-wall sort of restaurant. It's a Mexican restaurant that Mexicans actually eat it, so you know it can be trusted. I was first brought here by a regular who swore by the place. The enchiladas are amazing, the queso is liquid gold, and the prices used to be unbelievable. You could have lunch for two people for under $20. They are opening a new restaurant on El Camino, so prices have increased. Now a $20 lunch has turned into a $30 lunch, which still isn't terrible, but makes me think twice about coming now. read more

This is probably a good place to go when you are ballin on a budget and you need to feed people for cheap. I paid $5 for my meal, 2 cheese enchiladas rice and beans. I ate halfway through one and I noticed grease flowing from the other enchilada. I started pressing on it and it looked sooo gross, I lost my appetite. My family and I eat here nearly once a week. It is good Mexican food when we do not feel like driving far. We live about 5 minutes away from this restaurant. The food is good and the portions are plenty. I normally order the fajita taco dinner which is pictured in photo number two. Two large tacos filled with fajita beef. I usually take some of the beef out and add some lettuce, tomato, and salsa. I order some fresh homemade flour tortillas and make a third taco with the left over meat. Pretty filling for one person. The service is good, but can be slow at times. Usually depends what is going on when you are there. Sometimes the place is full, Friday nights can be like this, and you can sometimes be forgotten. Other days you will get prompt refills and attentive service which can be critical since their adult cup size seems as if it should belong to a kid's plate. Their typical green salsa also spicy. Tasty guacamole. I tried something new (very easy to do bc their menu is pretty big). This place is walking distance to my house so I'm often tempted to order from here. I have 4-5 times and every single time I'm mad at myself for doing it again. Their fajitas are cooked TO DEATH. I had to fight with the girl to give me another bag of chips. She gave me one bag small when I ordered and paid for 2 large salads, a large queso And guacamole. Each of those orders deserved their own bag of chips at least. On top of that I ordered two orders of fajitas for two. The margaritas are pretty good, but not worth the terrible food. read more

We tried Los Ramirez on a Friday night. This place was packed! I'm thinking to myself, this place has to be great. OH, Lordy....was I wrong! The service is slow and it's filthy! We order our drinks and about 20 minutes later a guy comes and takes our order. About 20 minutes later our food comes out. The food wasn't good. But, the worse part is this. My 2 sons were sitting by the wall/window. While they are eating a grease roach climbs out of no where and is walking right there by their FOOD! GROSS! It gets worse! I calmly go over and get rid of it. Before we can even leave. Another roach comes out. I was like okay, we're done! We got up immediately and left. What's scary is the place was packed with people. My mother and I decided to drop in after a day at the beach. The chips were stale. Although the tortillas were handmade, they were reheated. I ordered the daily special of tacos al carbon, and at my second bite discovered a roach walking on my table!! This was no tree roach that came inside, this was your typical roach that infests kitchens and etc. This place is most likely sharing the space with roaches. I told the waiter and he acted surprised. Our waitress was an older, hispanic lady. She barely tended to our table or asked if we needed anything. We had to order with a different employee. When we first sat down she did ask if we wanted beverages but cut us off mid order and we never had the opportunity to order alcohol because we didn't get served. I read the reviews after I came in. The decor was a bit old and the seats were kinda beat up. Service was really good tonight. We never had to ask for more tea and everything was prompt. I did not see any of the dirtiness mentioned in other reviews. The food is more authentic tasting than tex mex. I had the burrito texano and the portion was huge. I live close to this place and frequent it often but recently over the past few months we have had terrible service. We have walked in twice and walked out because we sat down and no one helped us. When we do sit down and get service two or three different waiters walk by and finally one will take our order. It takes a long time to get food.
