Needed a quick lunch in New York and got carne asada tacos from Los tacos. This place always has a long line but the service is quick. The carne asada tacos are overly stuffed so I wish I had another tortilla or two, but these tacos burst with flavor and are filling. The salsa bar is a nice touch to add that extra flavor to your tacos. I would also get a bag of chips on the side to try all the salsas. I would come back here again for another quick lunch. This place does get busy so be prepared to stand in the line. Ambiance is casual.
We kept hearing the hype about los tacos, number one so we had to come and try it ourselves. The prices were a little expensive for taco but then again I'm from Georgia so what do I know? Lol The service was great. The ambience is definitely a stand and eat place. The tacos were very well seasoned and had a wonderful avocado green sauce on them. The Horchata was mid. Overall, it wasn't a bad place to come and eat.
This is a simple review for a simple storefront: Excellent. Do not miss out. Must stop here I came here on a Friday night with two 18-21yo boys. Grabbed a few tacos for a dinner after a day of touristy wandering. Between the three of us we tried the chicken, pork, and cactus tacos. All were outstanding. One of the boys grew up in Texas and confirmed that Los Tacos is legit good The staff was amazingly friendly and the ordering system was sublime and efficient. We arrived at 7:30 and rolled in just ahead of the later night crowd, so that may be something to be aware of for timing purposes - bit of there is a line, don't skip the opportunity, stay and be thoroughly impressed.
The service here is some of the quickest you will ever experience in NYC. The ambience reminds me of taquerias in Mexico City. You place your order and they prepare the tacos to order while continuously making fresh handmade tortillas. The salsas and agua frescas are great. These are the definitive best tacos in the city
Very great experience! I was lucky to have a very short line when I came in. They have a simple classic menu with tacos, burritos, chips and salsa, guac, and a variety of classic beverages like horchata, tamarindo, and jamaica. I got a pollo, carne asada, and adobada (pork) tacos con todo (all the toppings). Sooo flavorful, juicy, and fresh. My favorite was the adobada that had some thin slices of pineapple and its own red sauce. They have a sauce bar on the side and lime wedges. I highly recommend trying this spot. They have a northern location called Los Mariscos which has fish and shrimp tacos. That is next on my list! The workers were beyond friendly, welcoming, and were putting in work behind the counter!!! They really made this experience a 5/5.
I live in Dallas Texas and regularly visit Mexico and these tacos are good but they are definitely overhyped for one. Let's start with the price. They are not worth the price for what you get. Yes it has a lot of meat on them but $6 a taco is crazy. This spot is more of a get a quick snack and go kind of place if you want to try them out, but I do not recommend coming here if you're looking to get a full meal or to be full.
Can't even leave this review and share the photo without my mouth watering. I was in town for a couple of weeks and had to get my hands on some of these tacos - multiple times. Coming from Chicago, I'm used to good Mexican tacos. Living in DC now, it's harder to come by. This place will make you feel like you're in an authentic place in Mexico and the tacos are so flavorful and filling. Most places will charge extra for all the fixings, but not here. The tacos are made to order which is nice for my picky people and they will just warm your heart. I was helped by Juan A recently, as well as the manager. They were both such a pleasure to work with and made my experience very memorable. They saw I had a big order and did everything to help me with salsas, limes, etc. The only downside of going here is that you'll constantly crave these amazing tacos again and again!! Can't wait til my next visit.
Legit tacos! We got a Carne Asada Taco and an Adobada Mula. The Carne Asada was unfortunately slightly chewy and underseasoned. The Adobada Mula easily stole the show--a savory, oily, cheesy masterpiece. Definitely recommend asking for the grilled veggies (whole scallion [bulbs and all] and a jalapeño)
Came here for a late lunch and it wasn't too busy. I was a little confused about how to pick up my food because I didn't receive a number or give my name and there was no one lined up where it looked like they were serving food from. I found a spot at the counter and since it wasn't busy they just called me up to get my order. I got one carne asada and one al pastor. I definitely will only be order al pastor from now on. The carne asada was good, but the al pastor was much more flavorful and the pineapple was so sweet. Definitely worth it!
Flavor Explosion at Tacos No. 1! I bought 3 chicken quesadillas and 2 beef quesadillas from Tacos No. 1, and wow--these were next-level good. The meats were super fresh and packed with flavor, and the corn tortillas tasted homemade and warm, with that perfect chew. What really sets this place apart are the toppings. Fresh chopped onions, cilantro, and their guacamole (which is more like a smooth, tangy sauce than your typical chunky version) added so much depth. And the extras? Pico de gallo, relish, and a variety of spicy sauces you can grab and take with you. They don't hold back on flavor. Every bite was a perfect balance of texture, spice, and freshness. If you're into quesadillas that go beyond the basics, this spot is a must. I'll definitely be back soon!

Los Tacos No. 1 is as close as you can get to authentic Mexican street tacos in the heart of Manhattan. As someone from Mexico, I can honestly say the flavors are spot on! The tacos are delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and they even serve Mexican Coca-Cola and traditional aguas frescas, which makes the experience feel even more authentic. One thing to know before you go: it gets very busy, especially during peak hours, and there isn't a seating area. But that's actually part of the charm--it mimics the street taco experience in Mexico, where you order, stand, eat your tacos, and enjoy the lively atmosphere. If you're craving authentic Mexican tacos in NYC, this place is absolutely worth the wait. We loved every bite and will definitely be coming back! read more
We made it in the nick of time a few minutes before closing at 11pm. I've been to the location in Times Square before and this location is just as good! The Adobada con todo is where it's at. It was after church and we were looking for a quick tasty bite. I have been to other locations and didn't know they opened one by Wall Street. We walked in just in time before a whole crowd came behind us. Upon entry you are on line to place your order. The decor is simple like all the other locations. Walk with menu, food descriptions, simple decor, and countertop for standing. We ordered two carne asada quesadillas, one carne asada taco, one pork taco & one horchata drink. Immediately the cashier fill the cup & gave our drink as we pay. Legit horchata as I had in Puebla. We then took our ticket to the prep area and give to someone who is available asking for a ticket. They make the food once in receipt of the ticket. My order came and instead of carne asada quesadilla, he gave me a carne asada taco. I inquired to find out that the cashier took my order wrong. The topping got was very courteous and immediately made a quesadilla without question asked. I got some lime, salsa, radishes and pico de gallo which all are most to enhance the flavor of food. We then found a counter and devoured our food. The meat were tender and juicy. The crunch of the onions, creamy of avocado sauce with fragrant cilantro and spice of the salsas, grated bit after bite. Though it look small, two tacos or one taco/one quesadilla would be enough for a meal. Still one I'd the best places in the city for tacos!! Well done! Great service! read more

Came in for a light bite and got the carne asada quesadilla. I put the green sauce at the salsa bar on and it was spicier than expected. The food was good and for the spot. I wish they sold something other than Dasani for water though. read more

We got the adobada at Los Tacos No. 1 and it did not disappoint. Juicy, flavorful, and packed with that perfect grilled pork, there was some crunchy charred part and that made it extra good. Definitely something you want to eat right away, the meat is so juicy it can soak through the corn or flour tortilla if you wait too long. Probably not first-date food unless you want to impress them with your skills in slurping taco juices and trying to finish it all in one bite. It's that good. They provide lime and salsas on the side if you want to add a little extra flavor or texture. I went with some lime and pico de gallo, and it hit the spot. read more

3 of us visiting from LA heard these were the best tacos in NYC had to give it a try. Can confirm, they were good!!! Asada was good quality, guacamole and salsa were good, tortillas tasted fresh. Friendly guys working there. Would def come back when in NYC again. read more
This place is just around the corner from my job and I always noticed that there's a long line outside. It's tacos they can't be that good! And for the price...6 dollars for one taco, not worth it. Yes the price turned me off and specially the crowd...these are tourists they will eat anything. But boy was i wrong. I stood in line with my colleagues and placed our order, chicken tacos and mulas. The ladies in the register couldn't be more friendly. They gave us the ticket but I thought they would call out our order. But no, a guy in a red jacket assisted us to hand the tickets to the guys who are making the order and will be responsible for handing our our orders. OK. they have a system. The guy asked us whether we want corn or flour tortilla. We opted for corn! Within less than 5 minutes, maybe less, our food was ready. Their tacos and mulas maybe small but they are freshly made and seasoned well. We also got their chips and spicy salsa and chuncky quac. For drinks we got their Hibiscus and Tamarind aqua frescas. They were sweet and refreshing! We parked ourselves to a shared countertop table and enjoyed the ambiance of laughter and positive vibes. The place is clean considering how crowded it is but did not feel cramp. There's a cute busboy who cleans after the mess customers left. My take: I love this place! The food the service and the location. Yes the price is a bit high for a taco but they are in Wall Street. Never judge a book its cover. Go in and enjoy a tasty tacos and wash them off with refreshing aqua frescas! Yes I will come back for lunch with my colleagues! read more
Love this new location for Los Tacos 1! The service was fast. The food was great. It's actually perfect if you need to eat a quick lunch alone or with coworkers. No seats, just standing tables. It is BUSY! If you get here prime lunch time, the line can be long but it moves pretty quickly. Once you order, you'll be brought to the next station where you can specify toppings/flour or corn tacos. I liked the chicken and pork tacos the best! Can't wait to be back. read more
Los Tacos No 1 has some of the best tacos that I have had in New York City. When I walked in there was a long line, but it went by quick. I ordered a "Pollo Asado" Taco and a "Pollo Asado" Quesadilla. To my surprise the "Pollo Asado" Quesadilla was open face, but it did not take away from the taste. If you stop by Los Tacos No 1 both the "Pollo Asado" Taco and "Pollo Asado" Quesadilla are good options. read more
After hearing about Los Tacos and walking by the one in Tribeca many times had wanted to try it and finally made it to the relatively new location on Exchange Place. It was reasonably busy on a Sunday afternoon but they managed the flow well. First you order at the cashier and then bring the ticket they give you over to one of the preparers. Had the Adobada taco and the Especial with Adobada added. Both very good and flavorful. Need to return to try more items! read more

One of the best places in the city to get tacos. You order your tacos and pay before they start making them - you need to have your receipt to give to the guys making your tacos! Standing tables only, but these are quick bites. The tacos itself were flavorful and you can add your own condiments as you wish. Will definitely be back to one of their many locations in the city! read more

A super quick, in and out, stand up to eat type of place, and there are long lines at all times but they move fast. Their quality is consistent at all locations, and I always seem to come back on every trip to NY. It's definitely a must-try if you are visiting and haven't had it before! read more
Stopped by for a quick bite and ended up wishing I had room for more. I got the carne asada and the pollo tacos, both on corn tortillas. The carne asada was packed with flavor, tender, well seasoned, and had just the right amount of char. The pollo was juicy and had a nice smoky heat to it. Corn tortillas were fresh and held up without falling apart, which always makes a difference. Everything tasted clean and well put together. It's fast, it's flavorful, and it lives up to the hype. Being from Los Angeles myself and the taco scene surrounding, it tastes just as good. Highly recommend. read more

This taco chain never disappoints! My friends and I love coming here. I've been numerous times and they consistently deliver fast service and good food. I've tried the Adobada ($5.65) and Asada ($5.95) tacos both extremely flavorful with the Adobada having a little kick to them. They offer a variety of toppings including limes, green/red salsa, pico de gallo, and onions & cilantro. There is always a line but moves quickly and standing tables to eat quickly. read more

Returned to Los tacos recently to satisfy a taco fix... it was even greasier than normal (especially the abodabo), which really ended up bothering my stomach. Don't think I'll return for a while unfortunately! read more

Authentic, delicious tacos. Don't let the long line scare you off, it moves really quick. Your food is prepared fresh in front of you in minutes. They offer taco, quesadillas and mulas, with choice of corn or flour tortillas. The Carne Asada taco and the grilled pork were both excellent. They were stuffed. Tried both sauces, each were equally hot. There is limited seating inside, but plenty of outdoor seating. If you love tacos, this place is a must try. read more
First time eating los tacos after hearing about it for years! So happy that we discovered this new location in fidi and the best of it is that THERE IS NO LINE!! The steak taco is juicy and delicious and the chicken taco is flavorful. The pulled pork one is too salty for me so i wouldnt recommend that but overall quick service, friendly service, and great food! Will be back! read more
