Went in for my favorite item, with no line and only two other people in the restaurant but they had already finished their meal. I always go for the California Burrito. It's a bit pricey I know but usually very tasty. This time not so much. I signed my receipt and put a tip in the jar, heard the bell ring and was like Ok. I headed over to the salsa Bar to get some flavor for my burrito. It was so dirty I couldn't even see what I was looking at. Nothing was marked or it was too faded to see what it was. I only knew because I've been to a few of their establishments across north county. After about 30 minutes of waiting I went up to the counter and questioned as to where my food was as it was a rather long time. She said sorry, it's almost up. So my burrito finally arrived and to my dismay it was filled almost entirely with gristle or cartilage. I kept trying to chew it and it was like trying to chew a shoe. I thought maybe it'll get better and after having to keep spitting it out I was like I'm sorry this is horrible. I explained that I've come to a few other Los Tacos locations and they've always been really good. I guess this one only uses the name and not the quality. I'm giving them two stars for at least trying to remake it, but unfortunately round two was just about as bad and just lacked all quality in the end. It's too bad. You'd think if you paid 11 bucks for a burrito, you'd get better service and better quality. Think I'll just stick to the one in Encinitas. I guess it's under different management. read more

Really bummed. I had wanted to try this place for so long. Finally got a chance on Saturday to stop in and pick up some tacos. I ordered 2 potato tacos (I'm vegetarian). Got home and ate one and was happy with how everything was tasting so I had the second taco and guess what was in my potato taco? A big fatty piece of carne asada. Yuck! Although the taste of the tacos were initially good they are obviously not doing good job handling the food in the kitchen. That should not happen! For that reason alone, I won't go back. read more

We are new to the area and this place is close. We walk in, it's empty. Hmm, but ok. We immediately noticed it was expensive, so we had somewhat high expectations. We both ordered a quesadilla. $8 carne asada quesadilla. Half of it was just cheese, if that. Barely any meat at all. If so, super small pieces. $10 diabla shrimp quesadilla. Very small shrimp and barely any. My fiancé was not impressed. I was not impressed. Way overpriced. I would maybe understand if our meals included rice and beans, but wow. Would it kill you to throw in a complimentary bag of chips??Makes sense why it was empty around lunchtime on a Sunday. I told the stupid guy to put a little bit of ice into my drink, which is expensive enough, and then when I seen him fill up my entire cup with ice, I didn't correct him, cuz I figured I could top it off before I left. I normally don't write reviews but I saw a couple recent ones that I felt didn't accurately represent what I've seen in my experiences with Los Tacos, so decided to throw in my two cents so people can hear the good as well! I have lived in this area for two years and I have been coming here for two years. It was kind of a coincidence--I volunteered nearby and found this local Mexican joint tucked away in the corner. Eventually, I started coming in every week after my shifts to finish my day off with a bang. Although all their tacos are good, my favorite by far are the fish tacos. You can do grilled or battered-fried, with crunchy cabbage, fresh tomatoes, and chopped onions. But really, after all that delicious goodness tucked inside a couple of classic corn tortillas, it's the creamy chipotle sauce--which I can only describe as magic--that brings it all together and makes these the best fish tacos to enter my stomach. The customer service is equally as great, if not better. I've met a lot of the staff there, and they are always so kind, even remembering my name and usual order. After a three month trip away, I went in and they still remembered my face and asked how I had been. Even now during coronavirus, I'm very grateful to the restaurant for staying open to provide a portal for delicious food, and especially to their employees who come in everyday to serve their community and making that delicious food happen. Ordered food through postmates from Los Tacos. Received small taco instead of fajita bowl. ($7 and a lot of food difference) Postmates doesn't have real time customer service. Store said it was called in "wrong" and ended conversation. So, I was out $7 and never received order. Los Taco got the money for my order and never made it, just blamed someone else. It's not a lot of money, and a small order, but I think I had a reasonable expectation to receive the order I placed. read more

Came here today, Sunday, for the first time. I ordered the carne asada fajita bowl and it was good, a little too cheesy for me though. My husband ordered a bean and cheese burrito and the cheese was burnt! I don't know why the cooks would think that's acceptable to be served to a customer. This is an update from my 1* old review, I desided to give another chance to them this last friday night and it's a well deserved 5* review as the food was better this time around and the service was incredible what a difference from the first time, all different staff maybe thats the reason? I was nicely greated as soon I stepped in the restaurant even tho it was 5min to closing time they were very welcomy, the young gentleman in the register offered to help me if I had questions and I did and he was very knowledgeable enought to explain at least 3 different burritos(sorry) that I was debating on and he also customized it for me while the other gentleman was preparing my Michelada (they're bomb) then he brought it to my table with a big smile, I asked him some questions about the salsas and he answered all of them and I even learned they make most of their items from salsas to chorizo every day from scratch , WOW no wonder salsa was so yummy as well, what a world of difference on service and food quality thank you, Los Tacos has erned my business again read more

Stopped by this establishment last night. Realize it was 7 minutes to closing but was only getting rolled tacos. Ordered 2 orders of shredded beef tacos. Fairly quick to get. The young guy who rang us up was nice, even though we were ordering food right before closing. Anyway, food came, presentation was very good. I've never seen a rolled taco so big. Excitedly I took my first bite. Something didn't feel right. It felt slimy or greasy. Spit it out and saw it was a big hunk of fat. Decided to open up the taco. It looked like 60% was fat. We paid $18 for 2 orders of rolled shredded beef tacos, not fat. Grossed out and refusing to eat, I knocked on the door and showed the kid. He was nice enough to give me a refund. My husband braved it out and ate his. Within a hour, he was chewing on peptobismal. Won't be back. read more

I just had the Carnitas tacos at Los Tacos and they were amazing. These aren't just regular street tacos. The meat was grilled perfect, the salsa was just right and the tacos were topped with just a tiny bit of pineapple. I was a little hesitant when I saw the pineapple but it made all the difference. If you find yourself anywhere near a Los Tacos you have got to stop and give em a try. read more

Quite disappointing. The food was old and could tell definitely reheated. I asked for a simple bean,cheese,chorizo and sour cream burrito and the guy from the register was not able to deliver even that. The burrito had no sour cream and like 2 pounds of beans and very little chorizo. Also ordered some gorditas and they were absolutely stale and not fresh. I tried calling to let them know how disappointing their food is and got no answer after 3 tries I came to leave a review instead. You're better off going to Taco Bell, it will be more tasty and not as expensive. read more
