The employee took my name and phone number and confirmed the reservation. My family and I drove an hour to get there, only to be told upon arrival that there was no reservation under my name. We were a party of 8, and as someone who is pregnant, hungry, and celebrating a special occasion, this was incredibly frustrating and upsetting. What made the situation even worse was the way it was handled. The host simply dismissed us instead of showing any concern or attempting to find a solution. We were also told there was no manager available to speak with. Mistakes happen, but customer service is measured by how those mistakes are handled, and unfortunately this experience fell far below expectations. After planning ahead, making a reservation days in advance, and driving an hour for my birthday celebration, I expected much better communication and customer care. Instead, we were left feeling inconvenienced, disappointed, and unvalued as customers. Sadly, this experience put a damper on what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration.

We chose outside, but they had just cleaned up the area, so our chairs were stacked. The host/server quickly helped us get the chairs down and place them at our table. The server was attentive and kept checking in on us. Now the food. When we were sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were perfect and not overly salty or greasy. The salsa was very mild and had a great flavor. I ordered a 2 taco combo plate ($14.95) with carne asada and carnitas. The carne asada was just okay, it was cut into thicker piece, which is not my preference. It was also topped with guacamole, which was not the best I've had. The carnitas however were magnificent topped with pickled onions, cilantro, and salsa. The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. While this place, is not extremely traditional, it is a great spot in Old Town Temecula with fairly good food. I'm looking forward to coming back again.
