The food here was pretty good. This was my first time here. I had a lunch combination plate that had a burrito, refried beans, mexican rice, and a cheese quesadilla. It was really good and had a pretty decent price. Service was great. Our waitress would make sure we had a full cup of water, which is really good. The restaurant itself is pretty big. I had a horrible experience here. It was my first time coming here. Firstly the waiter took FOREVER to take our order, it was pretty busy so I would understand. But this lady would never come to our table, I would see other waiters busting their asses to ensure that their customers were satisfied but this waiter seemed like she didn't care about her job. We spoke with the manager TWICE but did not seem like he cared about what we where saying about their service nor try to make our experience a little bit better. Their food had ABSOLUTELY no flavor! First, let me say I LOVE going to Los Toltecos for dinner but this time they fell short. We called Friday morning to ask if they would have trouble accommodating a party of 20 - after asking the manager, they said no problem. When we got there, it took 15 minutes to prepare our table and they had only assigned ONE server to our group to take orders, bring drinks, etc. while we observed other waitstaff standing around. We truly felt bad for our server and overall, he did a great job - considering! Awful!! So I placed an order for a vegetarian combo, cheese and potato enchilada and chimichanga with double rice. I ordered online and AFTER I ordered at lunch time, it said an hour. I called and said I don't have an hour. The phone was then passed to a guy who said ok really quick. I got there 40 minutes later, and there was no staff around. There were 3 parties in the restaurant, all done, and 1 other to go order. And you needed an hour! In the back, it looked and sounded like a club, and the staff were SUPER loud and rowdy. This woman comes out laughing and stumbling a few minutes later. I'm sure she was drunk, WITH COVID SYMPTOMS!! She went to the back to "check" my order, and they were having a party again. All 3 tables waved frantically, and she walked to the back, and ignored them. After about 10 minutes, she brings me my food and I leave. The food was AWFUL. No sauce, and dry tortillas, with what tasted like instant mashed potatoes with a little Velveeta or processed American cheese, barf. The rice was gross, and had an odd flavor. I did not eat any of it after 2 bites. It is definitely suited for the trash. Never again! Probably the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to in life. The Taco Bell Potato Griller is WAY better. I wasted $20 on pure trash. And BTW the salsa tasted canned. I am Hispanic, and this is pure garbage, food and service. Literally, go anywhere else. I should have left when I had to explain what a Patron Margarita was to the waitress FIVE TIMES. Seriously? At a Mexican restaurant? We ordered chips and salsa and our food. After we ordered, we didn't see another soul until the food arrived, even though we were left sitting there for about 20 minutes. We needed water and more chips after all that time, but had to physically go back to the kitchen to flag someone down. I am sure you can imagine how well that went. Love the chimichangas deluxe, get it every time always satisfied. Went in for a margarita one time and accidentally stumbled upon drinking bingo with the awesome host Travis. I've grown busier these days so I can't go as often but with happy hour margaritas and free chips and salsa that was my absolute favorite place to go eat. They've got a patio which is nice and seem to have switched up ownership or something, little changes here and there but the food and service haven't changed and that's what I love. Stopped for a quick dinner w husband. I had steak nachos and he had his typical Mexican food choice- chicken quesadillas. Both of us said we'd return but neither of us were really wowed. The steak didn't have a lot of flavor and nachos were covered in lettuce. Guacamole wasn't especially flavorful either. This is an average Mexican restaurant. I would certainly choose Los Toltecos before going to Chili's, Chi-Chi's, Chevy's, or even Taco Bell. Service was quick, the wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the plates were served hot. However, the food seemed very average - as if maybe someone just stopped using seasonings back in the kitchen. It was lacking in flavor, but we ate, chit-chatted and went on our way. Like ketchup with some onions mixed in. Service wasnt great. The guy checked up on us enough but he had a tough time understanding that we needed 2 checks and he was just a tad too chatty. With that being said, my last two experiences have been pretty bad, so much so, that I will probably not be coming back. While dining there today, solo, I waited about 25 mins for my food to arrive (with reminders) and even longer to receive my bill. Even after receiving my food, I had to send items back to the kitchen to be warmed. The male server I started with at the bar, was very dismissive, and never came back to take my order. Just left this place. Had lunch with my 10 year old. The food was decent. Everything was fine except the bug floating in her drink. I could overlook that-- things happen, and the waitress replaced the drink without any problems. The real issue I have with this place is that they don't disclose the fact that they serve potentially deadly food items to customers. We ordered the fried ice cream for dessert. I've had the same thing here before and it was served with vanilla ice cream. The waitress told me when I asked that the dessert was made with vanilla ice cream. Took one bite and it was definitely not vanilla. It was butter pecan. I like that fine enough but my daughter has a tree nut allergy and she also had a bite. I said something to both the waitress (who seemed sorry enough) and the manager (who only said ok. I'm not positive he even understood what I was saying, but that's neither here nor there at this point). Question everything in this place. The cleanliness is questionable and they obviously don't care if they kill someone with the food they serve. And I'm not one of those people that expects restaurants to cater to any specific dietary needs. Had I known what we were ordering, I would have just deferred. Tell people what you are serving them if it's not what the menu states! It's not that hard!! And take into consideration that some people can't eat just anything. Since moving here 15 years ago from Southern California I've been searching for a place that has really good carnitas so I thought I would this place a chance. I ordered through Grubhub and asked that it be delivered at a certain time. The food arrived nearly 30 minutes early and the order was wrong. I called the restaurant and told them what happened. No apologies but they said they would have the carnitas sent over soon. After over 30 minutes they arrived but cold - and I live less than a mile away. The carnitas were cubed and not prepared the way I am accustomed, which is more like pulled pork. But that could be a regional recipe. The pork was dry and the flavor was meh. The amount of guacamole they give you is laughable. It comes in a large container filled with shredded lettuce but only about 2 tablespoons of guacamole. The salsa was much like most places you find out here - sweeter and mostly like thick ketchup. So my carnitas hunt continues. read more

The restaurant is very brightly colored and inviting in a traditional Mexican style. There is a separate bar area that is noisy but the dining room is not really affected by it. On Thursdays, they have a Mariachi's quartet that pays song requests which is nice. Our girls liked the music played for them. The service was friendly and efficient but the food was just okay. My wife's combination platter was pretty good but my steak entree was not very good. The T-bone steak was very thin and low quality meat. The refried beans were very liquidly and bland in flavor. The tomatillo salsa was also very liquidly and lacked flavor. It appeared that the rice and beans were microwaved which unfortunately seams to be standard for Mexican restaurants today. The Horchata drink was good and my daughters hot dogs and French fries were fine. Overall the food was just okay but the experience was made fun with good service and the Mariachi quartet. It was good we had a $15 for $30 in food Local Flavor coupon so we did not spend full price, especially since the food was certainly not that good. We will not be returning to the restaurant as a family. It did seem the people in the bar area were enjoying themselves and it would be worth another visit to watch a game or socialize with friends. read more
