We had a quarterly hobby gathering here today, a group of just over 20. The service was fast and accurate. I had the chicken fajitas, which were very good. It was clean, server was prompt about clearing. Really liked the decor, and the fact that even though they had several TV's going, we could all still converse. It was worth the short drive for me. This place used to be awesome when it first opened but now it just sucks. We went there for lunch today and absolute nothing we ordered had any flavor. I have thoroughly enjoyed multiple visits to Los Vaqueros over the past few weeks! I have been nearly immediately seated each time with my drinks, chips, salsa, queso, and tortillas being served within few minutes of my sitting down. The means I've had were great, with the chile relleno being one of my favorites. There guiso is also a notable compliment to the meal. Lastly, the wait staff has been fun, entertaining, and eager to help answer any questions I had. I will continue to make many more visits here! read more

Wow, the salsa was great. Wish that wasn't the one highlight of the meal. Food was bland, queso was gelatin, refried beans were watered down, the sopapilla was a flat piece of warmed over bread, and there was a fly in the honey on the table. No offer to comp anything. Never again. Bleh! read more

We eat here at least once a month. The service is excellent and everyone greats us. I've probably tried everything on the menu and my favorite dish is the taco plato which contains Mexican tacos (absolutely delicious) rice and beans. The salsa especial is extremely tasty but super hot...it's so good though that I can't stop eating it. If you're in the area, this is worth the stop. read more

A co-worker and I used to eat here on almost a weekly basis; now probably won't ever go back. We were among the first diners through the door for lunch on Friday, 09/20; but, all the staff seemed to be in a rush to get everything done. So much so that we didn't even have time to respond to their inquiry "is everything alright" before they were already turning on their heals and rushing away. My order was for shrimp fajitas with no bell pepper but added jalapenos. The onions were mostly burned but still edible; so, not too much of a complaint there. We wanted some of the hotter salsa but as stated before weren't provided an opportunity to ask for it due to the staff being in such a rush. Ordered some of the hotter salsa to go and was charged for it even though there wouldn't have been a charge had it been provided during our meal. In addition, the sopapillas were so tough you couldn't cut them with your fork; finally, had to pick it up with my hands and tear it apart with my teeth. Overall a VERY BAD experience at what used to be one of my favorite lunch sites. read more

I always see this place packed with cars. So when day I decided to go and try it out. Probably the worst Mexican Restaurant I've ever been too. Everything tasted wayyy to bland. This is the only place we eat out as with a family of 6 eating out is cost prohibitive. We've ate here for about 5 years weekly and they NEVER dissapoint whether your eating in or taking out they give you HUGE portions. This is not tex mex but more authentic Mexican food. Their queso is very good. Recommend their enchiladas, and chimes are very good. Fajitas are mouth watering you just cannot go wrong here. Service is prompt and friendly. I've been here twice in one month so far and both times the service was terrible!!! The food is pretty good but my waiter waited until after my date and I finished our meal then my date finished his beer before I even got the drink I ordered. So just be willing to sit and wait for a long time during your meal for any waitress/waiter to help. read more

I used to love eating at Los Vaqueros. This was my first time eating at their new location. I chose my usual 'The Taco Plato' but was very disappointed. Food was bland, no flavor whatsoever! We frequent this restaurant often and were just waiting for them to get settled in the building. Nothing has changed! Wait staff is the same with a couple of new faces and just as friendly as usual. This is our favorite mexican place of all time that we have eaten at in Mustang. The owner and all the staff are incredibly friendly and remember you the next time. The food is second to none! The salsa is our favorite and they bring you their relish and a warm salsa that is amazing. The service is the best. The prices are very affordable and the amount of food you get is very generous. This is a place you must visit. Their new location in the former Harry Bears/A&E Grill will be open very soon but for now they are still operating at the location on the same side of the street as Walgreens on HWY 152. Absolutely the best Mexican food restaurant in the metro! Excellent service, excellent atmosphere. The food is so amazing, I don't know where to start. The Mexican or "Street" tacos are among my favorite. Followed by the beef fajitas and the John's Special. The refried beans are amazing, and when I had to have a tooth pulled, I went to restaurant to.order to go, told them the issue and only ordered the refried beans for me. They gave me a HUGE portion that was big enough for me to eat for a few days while my gums healed, and did not charge me extra. The rice is excellent, and I don't like rice in Mexican restaurants. They serve huge Tecate beers in frozen glasses rimmed with lime, a lot of lime. I have eaten at this restaurant since they were at their original.location just across the street. The owner is an amazingly kind and wonderful man and his staff mirrors his example. By far the best Mexican food anywhere! read more
