OMG.... If you want really good Mexican food you must come here. We live in Yukon but drive all the way to Mustang to get their taco dinner. The meat is perfectly seasoned and the lettuce, tomato and cheese comes on the side for the to go orders so that your taco does not get soggy. The "set up" is home made tortilla chips with the best salsa on the planet. You also get complementary sopapillas with honey. They are so friendly and nice here. We probably pass several Mexican restaurants but it is worth the drive to come out here...!!! read more

Visited los vaqueros for lunch and the menu is vast and well priced. Upon entering you're promptly greeted in sat. I had the chicken fajitas lunch portion and it was so much food I had leftovers. The platter was extremely steamy too almost too steamy but it was delicious. I'd return and recommend them. PS ask for the spicy salsa you won't regret it. read more

The service was just okay and the food was mediocre. Also, I got the one taco and one enchilada on their lunch menu that showed as $10.50 but when I got the check it showed as $11.50. When I showed the waiter, he had to go verify and then came back saying it was a misprint but then they corrected it this time. Like they were doing me such a great favor. Maybe they need to get a sharpie and correct it on their menu asap. And then my friend who's two enchiladas was indeed $11.50, when she went to go pay her credit card showed $13.50. She took it off the tip and signed the receipt. But what happened to me and then to her, I would be careful when they bring the bill. Why is the queso so mild and the salsa so watery? I loved everything else you served.

Me and my wife decided to stop and in check this place out after a couple locals had suggested it . And it was great ! We came in a little later around 730 and our server was awesome and had a couple suggestions and pointed us to the fajitas and they were huge ! We overheard the table behind us say they wanted hot salsa and we ended up trying both and the original salsa wasn't the greatest honestly but the hot salsa was damn hot and good ! We got chicken/steak fajitas for two and it came with lotssss of onions and fresh peppers as well . The chicken and steak were seasoned well and piled high allowing us to have plenty to eat! All the tortillas tasted fresh and they had two option corn or flour . The chips that come with the salsa are on the thinner side but had plenty of salt and tasted like they were made in house . Quesadilla had plenty of cheese we went with the chicken option and it tasted just as good as the fajitas . We were sat in a booth as well and the inside felt very authentic but man the padding on the seats were pretty thin that's the only thing that I can say bad about this. read more

Wow time flies....you will not find a more genuine and hospitable guy than him. I came on a Saturday around noon , seated right away and devoured chips, salsa and queso like it was my last meal!! I never lacked or had to ask for anything, the waitstaff are exceptionally good and attentive. Terrible restaurant. Food was awful and expensive. Service was horrible. My wife had to ask twice for ice for her drink and her chile relleno had one little drop of cheese about the size of a dime. She asked for some sliced onions which she never received. My tamales were the worst I have ever had. The refried beans were bland and tasteless. I had to ask twice for sweetener for my tea. The server never returned to our table to check on us. He never brought our check and we had to go to the register to get it. read more

Came to Los Vaqueros' new location for the 1st time for lunch on a weekday. The new place seems larger than the previous one and appears newly furnished compared to before, but otherwise no major changes. Sat down and chips, queso, and salsa were promptly brought out. Not a fan of the salsa personally, its pretty tomatoey and lacking in spice which is what I prefer so I stuck with the queso. Queso is on the thin side and decent, not the best I've had. Went with my favorite entree, the chile relleno with chicken. They have 4 options for the sauce on top(chili/cheese, sour cream, green sauce, ranchero sauce) and I went with chili. Came out smothered with it along with a generous portion of rice and beans. The pepper had a crispy layer of batter outside the skin which I don't remember them having before, but nonetheless it was delicious. Had everything I could ask for in a chile relleno. Portion was huge, and took the last quarter to go as usual. Finished off with the complimentary sopapillas which were strangely off. Tasted like the dough had not been fried fully...whatever, probably shouldn't have gotten dessert anyway after eating so much. To sum up, subpar appetizers and dessert but excellent entree. Service was also top-notch, there were multiple rotating waiters that checked on us regularly. Being that there aren't very many Mexican places in Mustang, this will continue to be my go-to whenever I'm craving a chile relleno. read more

Our chips seemed stale, salsa was okay and could've added a little hotness to it and the other special salsa was great. Our food came out within 2 minutes of ordering. Wife had the beef quesadilla, beef was tender and flavorful, rice was good, the charro beans was a big disappointment as it tasted like nothing but jalapeño, overloaded with them. Yesterday I honored my brother on what would have been his 54th bday cuz he loved chips and homemade salsa. Of course, I indulged in their salsa. I had two mango margaritas, which were delicious. Their chicken tortilla soup is one of the best in the state with hand cut veggies and shredded chicken - it was delicious of course. Food is great. Management and service staff are always friendly and attentive to your needs. I've cold beer and great margaritas. Staff keeps the place clean, cleaning under the tables and damp mopping as needed. Unlike most other restaurants, even the Owners are quick to buss tables, sweep or mop when needed. Owners demonstrate leading by example for their employees. If there are any of your party that are there on their birthday the Owner's and floor staff are quick to gather to sing a song while the "birthday" person dons a large Sombrero. All in all it is a great place to go if you are in the mood for a Mexican meal. read more

I just can't bring myself to understand why on earth this place has such great reviews (much like another reviewer said)! Usually food either looks good or tastes good this place it looked gross and tasted about the same unfortunately! People were really nice though ! Pros: quick service and staff was REALLY friendly Cons: Food was sooo bland , fajitas weren't seasoned at all and not even Charred even though it's on a hot plate. The "cheese dip" is much more chicken gravy like then anything I've ever tasted! Even the salsa had no flavor !
