Many of my coworkers come here like every day or every other day...I come through when I need a few household items and to stock up on the instant Lattes (drinkgasm/wakey uppey)...The prices at Lot Less are not necessarily cheaper than other discount chains but the variety of choices and cleanliness and attractiveness of the store make this location a one stop shop for all your needs. Wouldn't necessarily travel 1-2 hours to get here, but I'm fortunate enough to have it across my job. read more

If you're into guilt-free shopping, Lot-Less Closeouts is THE place to go. I went in because, well, I was cold out and this place was a brightly lit haven where a bunch of people were hustling around inside. But then my mind was blown. Good quality ear muffs, scarves, and hats for under $5 each? I grabbed a pair of gloves for myself and then thought better and grabbed 2, one for the boyfriend (you can't feel guilty about shopping as long as you're buying a gift for someone else, right?!). Then I went on a spree, scouring every aisle for more treasures. They had things I would actually buy and for prices I could actually afford! A couple of bath towels, a pack of hangers, a sweet looking picture frame, some brand name body lotions...basically everywhere I looked was a buffet of awesome. And the food section: the combination of discount prices on high quality goods literally made my eyes bulge and my breathing erratic. Emeril's Marinara Sauce was less than half the price I paid last week at the grocery store! And I took a chance on this Indian Chickpea Curry pack for $1.79, which ended up being my entire dinner that night because it was fabulous (oh wait I paired it with rice and spinach--total dinner price of a whopping $3.25. Yeah that happened.). Because it's so crowded and popular, the aisles are a bit too crowded for comfort, thus being my reasons for pushing it to 4 stars. And the "Crazy Richard's" chunky peanut butter was a tad too crazy for me. The bottom line: I have a Lot Less patience for paying too much now that I have Lot-Less Closeouts to run to in times of need (and all of the other times). read more

This place is right across the road from where I work so I am here at least once a day.. I really like it! I always find a bargain when I go here and I never leave disappointed. They always have such a great range of basically anything and everything! I've never seen a place like this before in Australia so it was pretty cool to me! They quite often have big brands too which is great!!love seeing the truck pull up and venturing out on my lunch break to browse. Great place to shop for bargains! read more

LOT LESS IS MY FAVORITE STORE. This location is near my offices so I come at least once a week. Their product moves fast so it's always exciting to see what's new in stock. The prices are unreal. I hesitated to review since it's such a great place....we don't want our secret spot out there, but let's be real, everyone knows about lot less and if you don't, you're missing out. This bargain store sell things like makeup, toiletries, cookware, clothing, food, and so forth. I'd definitely return to this place for its big brand products at affordable prices. I love this place!!! They have everything you need in a household - from clothes to comforters to food to electronics. All at a very low price. This place is a godsend for those living in Manhattan where prices everywhere is jacked up. Not only that, but the cashier lady made my day by telling me that I had a keen sense of fashion (which can be arguable but it felt nice to be told that) from the discounted clothes that I selected. I had bought an umbrella from this store for $7-8, which was $25-35 in other stores (different brand but similar quality) and it lasted 2yrs. It was very strong and durable. It would have lasted even more if it was handled properly. I would definitely recommend this store for buying umbrellas. read more

This is essentially an upscale Jack's 99--though still with an assortment of bargains. Most of the food products are overpriced in my opinion. I shop the store on W40th St because it's across the street from a new Jack's 99. Checkout lines are often long and slow-moving. read more

OMG this place gets so packed and hectic you can barely stroll around the carts without running someone over. Nonetheless, this place is amazing! It has everything you can possibly imagine that you don't need but want. LOL! Anything from Essie nail ($3.49) polish to gluten free/organic pasta! Their prices are also good. You can find a lot of toys and books for kids. You will find a lot of things for your home. Try to go when everyone is at work and isn't on their lunch break because this Lot Less is in the heart of the business area. read more

My go to spot for cheap household deals. Everything is cheaper than typical rite aid or Duane reade stores. I got a French connection dress for only $20 and wella color correction shampoo for $4. I love sales. I love cheap buys with good quality. Just imagine my excitement when I found this place at timesquare! (Sorry jacks world). This place offers a lot from food to makeup to electronic accessories to kids toys to home stuff to clothing. And now Christmas stuff. The choices are limited but the prices are unbeatable. Forget CVS and Duade Reade. You can find stuff here half a price or less. Mind you, 6Ft Xmas tree for $20. Sounds so xmas to me. I also got an XL rainbow-colored umbrella for $7. Great find on my lunch break in midtown! Exceptional staff! Most items returnable (as there are no dressing rooms) & there is high quality clothing for less! While we all love to shop in regular stores with dressing rooms - these prices can't be beat! A $200 French Connection dress for $10! Workout gear, zumba brand clothing & bras, shoes, boots, food, children's toys (great prices for all those charities & toy drives this season), home decor, bath, soap, handags, organizational, jewelry boxes, books, cleaning supplies, beauty supplies (some that are paraben/phalate free, electronics, makeup (please go here to find drugstore brands & beyond here for super cheap! The manager is nice & the people are very nice even the security guard (if you need to return something - see him first at front of store, no wait in line to return) GO here! It's a dollar store on steroids. Cheap stuff and cheap prices. There is a variety of stuff sometimes apparently random stuff. But they do maintain a steady stock of inexpensive cookware, flatware, and other miscellaneous household items. There are some food stuffs and clothing in here as well. Nothing amazing to take home although I have recently purchased some pictures for my wall here. They also have cheap hair color and othe beauty supplies. read more

Nail polish = .99 cents, Lindts chocolate which usually sells for $4.99 at Target costs $1.99 here. Like, woah, somebody pinch me! I felt like I was walking on a coupon cloud! When you live in NYC everything is expensive. But then comes along a nice store like Lot-Less or Jack's World and you think, 'I can afford to eat today and pay rent.' I do like this store better than the one in Rego Park because it seems new and shiny. They also seem to have better merchandise compared to Rego probably because they are near Port Authority. My only advice is to shop with caution. A few dollars here and there added up to a $60 shopping bill for me. Also they only have a 15-day refund policy and a 30-day return policy (store credit for the latter). read more

Dr. Miracle's hair and skin products $.99 cents - $2.99...

This place has great deals but poor service and management. The credit card system just went out. As the line starts to get longer no one knows why the line is moving slow. The manager attempts to fix the machine but never conveys the situation to the costumers waiting on line. The line gets longer and finally 1 of the 4 cashier's starts only accepting cash. As I leave the store the people in the back of the line still have no idea why the line is so long. The problem solving skills of this management team is piss poor. read more

This is the only Big Lots type markdowns store you will find in Manhattan. While its on the small side be thankful we got one. Great to make a pit stop in every other month for essentials and suprise merchandise. read more

It's a very clean and well organized location. They have a lot of variety of products for sale, including toys, household appliances, cell phone accessories, etc. The staff is helpful and polite. Prices are fairly cheap if compared to Duane Reade. read more

My husband and I were in NYC this weekend. Having never heard about this store (40th street) we stopped in. Saw the Keurig 2.0 k460, which internet research said it was only sold at Sam's Club. We thought maybe it was overstock from a Sam's. We asked the middle aged male cashier if it had been a return or used, he said no, it was new. Just got back to Michigan tonight, opened it, water had leaked out of the unit while it was in the trunk, the Kcups were not in individual boxes like the videos on YouTube shows they should be, one box of cups were in there and other cups of different varieties were tied up in a plastic bag! The booklet had been torn open by someone else, clearly this unit has been USED and sold as new! While the unit was only $79.99, the item was completely misrepresented to us, we were lied to and we feel ripped off. Only time will tell if there is anything wrong with it and since we are not going to drive back to return it, I guess we can only post on here to warn others!! read more

Love this store, it is the best in Midtown. Since Midtown is a tourist spot a lot of things are overpriced and not worth it. This store is the best, it is clean, the lines move fast and you can find things fast and easy. I regularly shop here and I ran into a very bad experience here tonight that has reduced my eagerness to return. I had a cashier who was the B from Hell and had the biggest attitude. When she finished ringing up my items, the amount seemed about $1 higher but I wasn't sure so I asked her if the Kleenex pocket tissue I bought were 4 for $0.99. She said they were so I didn't question it. But when I checked the receipt, I noticed I was indeed charged $0.99 more. I patiently waited for her to finish with a customer and politely asked about it. As I explained it to her, she just literally stared me down with an indifferent, disgusted look on her face. After she realized she made a mistake, she just whisked me away and said "You can get a refund at register #1." No apology for the mistake whatsoever. Just a nasty stare from a nasty woman. She couldn't be bothered. Ugh! Thankfully, the next woman was a little more helpful and explained to me that they had just changed the price so some staff members were not aware. This incident just totally changed my whole attitude about coming here. This is a closeout store, after all, so I shouldn't expect much in terms of customer service I guess. But nastiness?!? Sigh. The prices are good but the selection varies and some of these items can be had on sale at other stores for the same price (e.g. $0.99 for a regular box of Puffs tissues, $2.49 for a bag of Reese's Pieces). Many times I do walk away empty-handed. The merchandise is really a hit-or-miss and the service is always a miss here. Set your expectations accordingly. read more

I love this store, they need one in Tampa Florida, & Orlando. Its an addiction they keep you coming back, the stuff you purchase at these stores last for awhile. If you see something you want at this store, please purchase it that same day cause once they are gone its gone. I have made the mistake of saying I will come back in a few days to pick it up, wrong the items are here today gone tomorrow they don't restock the same items there will be something new the next time you visit. They are not your average 99 center that's an insult they are so much better than a 99 cent store. You find all kinds of things for your kitchen, bedroom etc. To be honest you can decorate your entire apartment or room with items for lot less. I have been these locations of lot less in the city, Flatiron 17 W 14th St New York, NY 10011 between 5&6 Ave is by far the best & the cleanest, here are the other locations of lot less TriBeCa, Civic Cente 97 Chambers St New York, NY 10007 b/t Broadway & Church St , 95 Fulton St New York, NY 10038 b/t William St & Gold St Financial District.
