I have spent a lot of time debating and reflecting on what I should give Rose's Berry Farm for…read moretheir Sunday breakfast after giving it a visit this past Sunday. I have been conflicted between a 3 or 4 star and I have decided to give it a 3.5 stars, but will round down to 3 stars just because the wait can be extremely long with inattentive service. My dilemma is that even though I gave this place a 3 star, I would still highly, highly recommend people go to Rose's Berry Farm because you don't just go here for the food, but for the entire experience. Rose's Berry Farm is one of those places where you truly get to appreciate all the little things about life. Although I do understand that the wait can be frustrating, I like to think of it as just a longer time to be spending quality time in nature with your loved ones while appreciating your breath taking surroundings. This past Sunday I had friends from out of state visiting and decided to take them to Rose's. We arrived at around 11 am and waited around an hour to be seated so be prepared to be standing there for a bit. We ordered their Belgian Waffles, French Toast, and Quiche. The waffles and French toast come with Rose's homemade jam and whipped cream, which are AMAZING (I cannot emphasize that enough, you really have to try it). I have tried their Breakfast Burrito in the past and I don't think it is anything special so I do not recommend ordering that. My go to order for Rose's would be the Belgian Waffles with the jams and whipped cream on the side and the quiche. I normally don't enjoy waffles that much, but the waffles I had at Rose's were just so fluffy and when paired with the jam and whipped cream it's just a flavor explosion! Don't let the 3 stars scare you off, definitely give Rose's a try if you're ever around Glastonbury and are looking for something to do on a Sunday morning :)

My bf and I got there around 9:45 and there were already a couple larger parties in front of us. However, because it was just the two of us, we got seated 10 or so minutes after we got in line since a couple smaller tables opened up faster. Thank goodness too because the line was moving slow! After we got seated, our server came by quickly and took our order. We got the pancakes, french toast (both with blueberry compote) and bacon. Then... We waited... for 40 MINUTES! and in looking around, it felt like half the tables were also waiting on food. Which was pretty ridiculous since breakfast foods shouldn't take that long to make. When we finally did get our food, I was a little underwhelmed. The fresh blueberry compote on top of everything was DELICIOUS. However, I would say my pancakes were subpar. They were flavorless and not a nice, spongy texture. My bf said his french toast was pretty good and a nice crispiness. Bacon was standard. Overall, I'm not upset I went but I'm not rushing back for an ok breakfast meal and a super long wait. One redeeming factor is that the views from the outdoor patio were really nice.

First off, the ambience of the place is fairly nice though you would not know it from how many of the other patrons choose to attire themselves. If you're looking for a upscale, dining experience, other patrons would suggest this is not the place for you. They started off by attending to put us at the wrong table per our reservation. The table was apparently filled, and they moved us to a different table, which was perfectly fine as it was a nice booth with a window right next to the table. They then gave us several menus from which to choose, which was confusing as there were so many different menus with similar food options, including brunch, menu, a burger, menu, a dinner menu, a Mother's Day, special menu, and the regular menu. There were also two separate drink menus. We started by ordering some drinks and an appetizer of the meat and cheeseboard for the table. We put in our full order at just before 12:59 PM and the meat and cheeseboard came out fairly quick. Overall, it was the best part of our time at the restaurant. With regards to our main meal, we had ordered an eggs, Benedict, a children's pancake and bacon, special, and a steak and eggs meal. That was apparently a mistake as it took them over one hour six minutes before the food hit the table and when it did, it was a mess. The medium rare steak was cooked to a well done with the eggs being extremely messy and not very runny for over easy. The potatoes were dark and charred in places, but we're not crispy by any stretch of the imagination. The Canadian bacon had not been rendered well on the eggs Benedict and one of the two poached eggs clearly had not been poached appropriately. Also, my daughter indicated that the syrup was way too sweet, which was especially surprising as she is someone with a sweet tooth. The pancakes themselves were extremely dense and unfair and served on a plastic tray missing one of the size that was supposed to come with the order. It is clear that the kitchen does not know what they are doing as I was the second person in a row to have issues with the cook temperature on my steak, a problem that appears to carry over to other aspects of the meal as well. At the one hour mark, I've been so frustrated. I had requested to speak with a manager and he was actually the one who brought out the food to our table. There was a good four minute gap between two of the meals being brought out and the third meal, which is what my wife had ordered for her Mother's Day brunch. By the time the eggs Benedict came out, I showed the manager my stake and eggs, and he agreed that it was cooked to a well done rather than the medium rare I had ordered. I had overheard the exact same issue on the next table over where the older woman had not gotten her meal until nearly all seven others at the table had completed their food. At that point, I sent back my steak and indicated I did not want it to be remade as I was done with the place. Shirley, thereafter, I was clear the rest of the family was of the same mind as the meals were a mess and cooked improperly. The manager eventually came over and indicated that he is going to take care of the entire CHUCK which makes sense sense more than 75% of the food ordered had been uneaten or inedible. The service was no better as waiters and waitresses would walk by and failed to refill empty water glasses, even though they would look right at the empty water glass and would have pictures of water in their hand at times. One waitress went to five separate tables around us, including table she was not serving and failed to fill our water, but filled water at other tables. Our waiter was also missing an action for a good portion of the meal. Despite having the meal taken care of, I did leave a small tip for the waiter, though nowhere near what I would have had the service been even somewhat competent. This is a major disappointment as the last experience I had at this restaurant for dinner had been so positive it convinced me to book the place for Mother's Day brunch. I'm not sure if this was a one off situation but I would never recommend a return to this place based on the experience I had this day. What's worse, our reservation appeared to fall between two rushes as we were the second table in the rush that showed up about 10 to 15 minutes after our arrival at the place. As such, our food should've been fairly quick and coming out but others who ordered their food more than 20 minutes after our table received it with no problem. I have to say that the Taco Bell we had as result of this poor food service was Myles and Myles better than the food experience at the restaurant itself.

My friend and I were out shopping and wanted to grab lunch. She was craving a sandwich so we headed to Cotton Hollow. We were pleasantly greeted at the door and seated in the bar area at a high top. We couldn't decide between inside and outside so when we were seated at a window table over looking the patio, we had the best of both worlds. Both the dining room and bar are lovely. There are tons of GF options, but I always go for the choices I normally can't have elsewhere. They have a dedicated GF fryer so I opted for the fried fish and sweet potato fries. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. The fish was tasty and crisp, but a little dry on the thinner piece. The coleslaw was an Asian style slaw, which was not my thing. It was a bit odd for me. My friend opted for a chicken wrap and it was insanely large and she said it was delicious. The photo is only 1/2 of the sandwich which she took home. I had the red sangria. It was drinkable but had a bit of a sour taste and no fruit. My friend had the Hugo Spritz, which was perfect and refreshing. I have been here a few times and they are consistent and have a wide menu. It's on my list of regulars. Hint, if you go to Sayulita and can't get in, this place is right across the street and a good choice.

Kens is a small breakfast place in glastonbury, and there always seems to be a line out the door (for a good reason). Once inside tho, the waitresses and busboys are always super friendly. I love that the waitresses always stop by for a quick chat when they see you. The eggs benedict is super amazing here. Actually everything is but thats my fav. French toast super amazing too, especially when they have the egg nog French toast on special. They always have two flavored coffee options which i love. And the home fries are always well seasoned and crispy on the outside and oft in the middle. The only downside really to kens is the wait which sometimes goes out the door. They don't take reservations and they don't have a sign in, so it kinda sucks for someone like me with Rheumatoid arthritis because I cant stand for very long, so we cant go on the weekends. But we went twice during the week this week and the wait was very short. So if you want a great breakfast at a decent price, nice wait staff, and you're near glastonbury, Kens is a place to check out for sure!

They close at 3:00 on Saturday and we walked in pretty close to that time. The cookie case on the left was still full, the pastry shelves were empty as the goods had been taken to the back, but we did see some cakes out on the right side of the store. The young lady that helped us was great -she said that they had a lot in the back, so what where we looking for? We asked for a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon bun, and while she was packaging them up, we spied a great looking mini loaf of chocolate chip banana bread that became art of our order. The cinnamon bun was great -super fresh, super moist with a great sweet cinnamon filling and vanilla icing on top. The croissant wasn't as good -it tasted stale and we were disappointed. The chocolate chip banana bread was fantastic -super fresh, super moist, bursting with banana flavor and lots of yummy chocolate chips. So asides for that clunker of a croissant, we were very happy with our other two purchases, and the sweet young lady that helpedus.
