All weeknight dinner visits. -- Har Gow: Shrimp dumplings fresh and flavorful, but the vessels were so gummy they stuck to each other and the serving tin. Average. -- Beef Teriyaki: A four-stick serving had bumpy, lightly-charred and lightly sweet surfaces, along with good tenderness underneath. Decent marinade flavor. Above average to well above average. -- Mongolian Beef: An outstanding presentation of beef slivers thick enough to be tender, while also getting nicely crisp and a vigorous flavor superior to the teriyaki. Scallions added some extra kick in addition to the sauce. Really good feel and really good taste bring it really close to elite. -- Pork Fried Rice: Lovers of dark pork fried rice are in for a treat, because this is among the darkest and has dark flavor to match. Fresh, hot, not a reheat, and not sitting for hours. I could do without the peas, but all of the other additions-- egg, onion, bean sprouts, and big chunks of fresh pork-- were top notch. A benchmark rice if you're into this style. Elite. -- Chicken with Ginger and Scallion: Long and winding chicken with good tenderness and noticeable ginger flavor, with bold scallions the unsung hero. Closer to a very good dish than a great dish, but bonus points for being neither sweet nor spicy, but still bringing plenty of flavor. -- Chicken Fried Rice: Another example of bold, dark, fresh-cooked rice, this time with chicken. I was expecting shreds and got finger-length pieces that were much more impressive. Elite. -- Boneless Ribs: Lightly lacquered with shiny cross sections, so they were moist, but a bit fatty. Above average for sure, but not elite or close like some other dishes. -- Chicken Fingers: Fresh, hot, and crisp, with some small ones less dazzling, but most pleased. Good meat-to-batter ratio. Optional sweet and sour sauce add-on did dazzle, coming in sweet but dark ruby color and complex. Not your daddy's sauce; this didn't have pineapples and cherries but it did have more flavor. -- Chicken Teriyaki: Charring, coating, tenderness, juiciness, and marinade all combined to make this one of the better renditions. Well above average to near elite. -- Yuen Yang Beef: Very impressive dish, from the quantity, to the textures (perfect on both the beef and the bed of string beans), to the flavors (savory-tingly on the beef, though without much heat, and gingery on the string beans). -- Duck Sauce: Barely a variation from straight apple sauce. Not a strength. Only negative on service is that sometimes one server handles the entire dining room, so there might be waits, but even still, service is always friendly and efficient. We have been going to Lotus blossom for years now. They had their ups and downs, happy to report the food is now Stella again. We usually get a mix of the Chinese as well as Japanese selections and everything tasted great this last time we visited. They can get really busy so service sometime seems a bit more hectic and have misses, but they are friendly and always quick to correct any mistakes. read more

Ordered steamed vegetables with tofu for dinner that is listed under vegetarian options. When I came home, my body was covered in hives and itching. I started eating the leftovers for lunch the next day only to find out that there is chicken in this meal! This is very dangerous for people with allergies, but also frustrating and upsetting for vegetarians and vegans like myself. Also with the fact that the costs of the dishes are on the high end! We stopped into Lotus Blossom last night and had a wonderful evening. Food was excellent (sweet & sour soup, egg drop soup, peking raviolis, and spicy singapore noodles. Our waiter was very attentive and kept checking in to see if we needed anything else. As we finished courses, he kindly packaged the leftovers for us to take home. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a very comfortable ambiance for dining. The walls and ceilings have beautiful asian carve woodwork, wonderful paintings, great lights, and they had decorated for the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year. Food was also very reasonably price and today's leftovers tasted even better. We are so lucky to have this Chinese restaurant in Sudbury! read more

We just moved close to The Lotus Blossom and when an evening called for Chinese food, decided we'd go there. The place is always busy and has a nice building. It appears to have been a Sudbury staple for many years. Unfortunately, this may have led to complacency because this food was incredibly overpriced and of mediocre quality. read more

Food was fresh - that's the #1 thing you can ask for with sushi. Portion size on the avocado salad was on the smaller side. They didn't add cream cheese to one of the rolls, though it was requested. I think they just forgot to look at the special instructions. They also forgot chopsticks, but remember fortune cookies. Would order again to give them another try. read more

Their sushi was okay, wasn't in love with their version of a spicy tuna roll but that was my only negative takeaway. From the kitchen, we got General Gau's chicken, the sauce was so flavorful. My favorite dish was the chicken fried rice. I can't stop thinking about it, it was that good. We were a bit taken back by the price at first. We have ordered from this place for a few years now. Sadly this place has cut back on quality and raised prices. Our Lo Mein was watery and the spare ribs were dry with barley any sauce. Nice cozy restaurant with a casual atmosphere. Busy on weekends because it's very popular with locals. Pricey, but there are plenty entrées that be to your liking. Small full bar. So I was eating fried rice, chicken with teriyaki skewer the teriyaki was fine, but when I take out for the fried chicken rice, add a piece of metal which that almost scratched all over my gums of my mouth and if they swallowed that metal this is why your stomach hurts. Our family has been a customer for over 23 years. Up until a year ago, it was top notch consistent quality and fair pricing. Not anymore, the last few times we ordered we could not believe the quality. Food ingredients have changed and it tastes like food court chinese food. The prices have also skyrocketed which is difficult to rationalize based on food quality! I seldom leave negative reviews unless I had an awful experience at a particular establishment. Well, this was one of those times. We travelled to Sudbury, MA in December 2023 to visit family for the holidays and decided to give this place a try. We made a reservation and the five of us were promptly seated. However, we were given two menus to share (interesting) and when we asked for more menus, the staff handed us one menu while grumbling under his breath. 30 minutes had gone by and no one came by to even give us water. We finally flagged someone to ask to order beverages. She listened to our drink order but did not write anything down. Additional 15 minutes went by and still no drink (not even water). We asked her again when she walked by our table and she asked us to repeat our order and this time, she actually wrote it down. We were pretty annoyed by this point so we told her that we would just leave. She finally said that they were short staffed that day but was unapologetic. This behavior is the opposite of good customer service. Had they been transparent from the beginning and told us that they were short staffed and that the wait would be long when we were seated, at least we could have made a decision to either stay and wait or go elsewhere. Instead we wasted 45 minutes just waiting for nothing but lackluster customer service. Perhaps this was truly an off day for them but needless to say we will not be returning again. read more

As far as Chinese food goes in Sudbury, Lotus Blossom is the place to go. It is on the "fancy" side, so the prices are not cheap for Chinese. But bear in mind that it's in Sudbury where 1) the folks can afford it 2) the rent can't be cheap 3) people demand "fancy" - just look at the Dunkin' Donuts. The same family owns Lotus Flower in Framingham, where I've been dining since I was a child. Lotus Flower is a bit more casual and the prices are a bit lower and the portions a bit larger than Lotus Blossom, so we prefer to go there. However when we don't want to make the drive from Sudbury to Framingham, Lotus Blossom does the trick (at a slight premium for the convenience). While it might not be the most authentic Chinese food on the planet, it tastes really good and my (Chinese) family really enjoys it. We've never gotten the buffet - those are the dishes that are the least traditional and cater the most to a crowd - and I probably wouldn't recommend it if you want to get the best stuff that they have here. Our go to's are the moo shi chicken (the best around), the Shanghai pan fried noodles (not healthy but delicious and totally worth it), and the Hunan crispy shrimp (expensive but worth it). We also like the sea bass, general gau's chicken, peking ravioli, snow pea shoots, and chicken with cashews. My uncle is from China so I grew up eating Chinese food in Guizhou and when I moved to America I was like "this does NOT taste authentic" ... that is until I came to lotus blossom. I did read their Yelp reviews and study their menu and told my family no I am done eating Chinese food in America. But it was my Nǎinai's birthday so my second cousin basically threatened me to come here. First off their crab Rangoon? Oh my god... it was seriously like I was sitting on the shores of China nibbling on delicious authentic crab Rangoon. Egg drop soup? Just like my mom used to make. We are a pretty big family so we basically ordered the whole menu and shared it like they do in the south. I enjoyed every dish I tried, every appetizer and my egg drop soup lol we didn't share soups. So the service was great unlike some places, they actually greet you with a smile. The interior was straight up like this place in Gansu that I really like but forgot the name since it's been like 36.5 years. So yeah. Let me start off by saying, I've been a customer here for many years and of late have seen the food quality go down and the prices go up. Portions have also gotten smaller as quality has declined. But, in all my years I have never received food that is spoiled when ordering take-out. From the moment I opened the rice container, I smelled the fetid sour smell of food that has gone bad. I thought, perhaps I'm just being sensitive and took a bite, bad idea to take a bite from food that smells that bad. But, yes my taste buds agreed with my olfactories opinion that something was amiss. I'm not sure what went wrong but it did and the fried rice was spoiled. The General Gao chicken also had a "funny" taste and one piece had a very "funky" taste. The Lo Mein was just tasteless. The restaurant credited the dishes I returned and offered a gift certificate to be used at a later date. So, really disappointed in this experience and would not be returning any time soon. I was told no one else complained about the rice although they had many many orders. Makes me think, how many people got stinky spoiled rice and hopefully no one gets ill. read more

I went to the front to ask how long it would be. A man came to our table with menus and took our drink order. We ordered our lunch. We ordered the luncheon special. I was surprised there was only one cup of fried rice. I ordered the cashew chicken. The food was good, however it was cold. The duck sauce was watery apple sauce came out of the refrigerator so it was even colder than the fried rice. We I told him to food was cold he did not care that we were unhappy. He did snot offer to make it better. He was rude. Prices were higher than a lot of other places, but we thought we would give it a try. Waste of money!!!!
