Place was nice, staff was friendly super downside almost 18 for their "lunch " special? For this and a soup ? Wanted to give a shot but save your money. Food was about 3 out of 10 . Looks sad

We were in the area and this restaurant had pretty good reviews so we tried it out. The inside is dark, old and dated. For atmosphere, I give it 2 stars. We ordered the beef mongolian dish and it was delicious! The flavors were spot on, the portion was big, and the prices are comparable to others. Food was 4 stars. If we are in the area again I'd love to try other dishes. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and the food was fast. 4 stars to the employees! I noticed a lot of to-go orders while we were there so it's definitely a popular restaurant. It just could use some updating on the inside.

We went out to eat here last night with the family. We left our son's stuffed bunny that he has had since birth there. We called the next morning to pick up the bunny and no one had seen the stuffed animal yet this was the only place we went to and the went straight home. Please check your camera and return our missing friend. $150 reward to owner, please help us. We also eat here all the time. I will be sad if this is our last dining experience at Lotus because of this incident.

Everything was very good. I absolutely loved my plate

On a temporary assignment & they catered lunch last day. Omg I thoroughly enjoyed everything on my plate the only thing that has kept me from returning is distance however if I'm ever in the area for ANY reason I'm going without question

I ordered Lotus Hunan for dinner. I called up the restaurant and placed my order. After about 15 minutes I went to pick it up. I walked in the door. Told them my name, paid and they gave me my food. The person working at the front was very nice so I would say that the service was good at pick up. I didn't eat in the restaurant but from what I saw it was a large open area with booths, tables and chairs. I left with my food for home. I ordered the chicken fried rice with vegetables and egg rolls. The chicken fried rice with vegetables comes with chicken, egg, green onion, carrots, and green peas, mixed with rice that's fried and soy sauce. It has just a little bit of flavor. I usually add sweet and sour sauce which makes the fried rice sweet. The egg rolls were crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. I eat my egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce as well. This restaurant has good Chinese food with decent prices.

Satisfying Chinese fare in a low-key, friendly atmosphere. Comprehensive menu offers a little bit of everything at good value for portion size. Large dining room or take out -- a great go-to for Chinese cravings. Delicious Beef Mongolian and Shrimp with Lobster Sauce.

Wow ... Really. I ordered from this restaurant to be delivered to my hotel room (via a third-party delivery service), based entirely on Yelp reviews. Glad I did. First, I ordered the sesame fish to go with my order because I'd driven all day and my eyes were bigger than my stomach. But they were fun to eat and tasted pretty good -- a sesame crunch that encompassed moist light white fish. Throughout my travels, I've not seen these on a menu, and I'm not sure that they are anything more than a cook's invention at this joint. Still, I enjoyed them. Perfect for dipping in duck sauce, as the salty fish contrasted nicely. But I really ordered from here for the hot & sour soup, my standby, and the beef hot pepper sauce, which looked very appealing. The hot & sour soup was delicious sipped straight from the Styrofoam cup. It was an excellent combination of spice and tart, with nice strands of toothsome ingredients. The beef hot pepper sauce was simplicity perfected -- tender beef in a slightly spiced sauce, coupled with thinly sliced al dente bamboo shoots. Outstanding. These folks go out on a limb when it comes to Americanized Chinese food. My meal was slightly different than the norm, and more then worth a repeat to this place. If I lived closer, I'm fairly certain this would be a weekly thing for me.

The bar definitely had plenty of TVs, so if you're sports person. You could easily catch a game while here. One of the Table tents, notified guest of a happy hour for oysters, which I'm not an oyster fan, but hey to each their own. Had to try out the clam chowder and it was one of the best clam chowder I've had quite some time. You could easily taste the clams at a really nice consistency not too thin, not too thick and I didn't even have to add any salt to it. It was just really tasty. When the clam trotter was delivered, I happened to look at what other plates were on the serving tray ready to go out in one of them happen to be this phenomenal salmon dish. I asked the gentleman what it was and he said it was his favorite dish on the menu, so of course had to try it the salmon dish absolutely out of this world the glaze on it side. It came with it. Everything just fit really well together and y'all that plate was clean by the time it went back. This place is definitely on my shortlist as I really would like to try some of their other plates again that salmon and the clam chowder really made an impression and highly rate this place if you're looking for a good seafood place in Austin. The vibe of the restaurant was laid-back, but also very open, clean setting clean lines plenty of light and they even had really clean restrooms. The staff also was very pleasant and friendly with every one I interacted with.

Plenty of to fill two people up for lunch and leave the room to be able to try things either within the same food truck lot or somewhere else. We elected to grab coffee else where. The guy working was super friendly and helpful. Even took the trash bag to throw away the shells for us. We didn't ask but the one critique is to include crackers apart of the orders or simply pre crack the claws before you hand out the bag. Got creative with breaking the harder shells. Other than that, food was great, will be back if we come back to Austin.

Crab tends to turn to shreds when it's overboiled, and I was EASILY pulling out nice, intact pieces from the shell, so no worries about that here. If you're in the area, definitely approach the truck even if it looks closed--worth it to double check!

This shows they have good taste, good judgement and want to be near neighboring trucks that serve fine food. * * * How is Pete's? a) Nearly all Cajun seafood is good. Cajun seafood is like chocolate. There is better. There is worse. It is never bad. b) Pete's boiled Cajun shrimp is completely lovely. I would eat this over and over again. Since Pete's is near my house, I intend to become a regular. c) Cajun seafood is much easier to eat in a restaurant than at a food truck. This is because the final concoction is wet (due to the boiling stock) oily (because the oils make things taste good) and bright red (because of the spices.) You are looking at a dry cleaner's dream. In a restaurant you get solid plates and bowls to eat the good stuff in. At Pete's you get a Styrofoam container to hold the mess. This is like using a cotton bag to take home red paint. Fortunately, the slosharound stayed within the plastic bag the Styrofoam container was placed in. But one pinprick and it would have been upholstery cleaning time. d) The spices in Pete's seafood is NOT even. There WILL be the big bites of salt and the big bites of cayenne pepper. Be sure to order boiled potatoes as your side and save two or three to the end. You will need them to put out mouth emergencies. e) The non-emergency bites are wonderful. Having to put out fires with potatoes is a fair price for a meal with a lot of taste thrills. * * * Thumbs up for the seafood. Double thumbs up for the potatoes.
