I went for breakfast yesterday (Saturday) with my friend. There was a short wait but we got an excellent roomy booth. I ordered the French toast and we split a bacon cheddar home fry. I also got a large apple juice. The food was good, the French toast was good, I asked for no butter but I did get whipped cream on it. I just felt reallly full really fast but it was good. Lou Roc's rocks! If you like eating at diners, you have to go to Lou Roc's. They are open 6am-2pm and have an enormous breakfast menu. Also have many lunch items, like fried fish on Fridays. I love to have breakfast for lunch so I was in heaven here! Not only are the servings LARGE, they are very tasty. I had a Farmer's Omelet that was incredibly good. The raisin toast is to die. Yes, truly...this is as good as it gets. Visiting my besties in Worcester, and found a true gem of a restaurant. The service was quick and super friendly, even though the place was packed. I normally love taking pictures of my food before I eat, but my breakfast looked so good, I ripped into it before thinking. Everything came out fresh, hot and delicious. Real eggs, cheese, crispy bacon, the best corned beef hash I've ever eaten (nice and crispy the way God intended), fresh made HAND CUT toast, and huge delicious pancakes! OMG people...before you breathe your last breath on this Earth, eat a breakfast here. Top of my list for next visit is LUNCH! Breakfast at Lou's. The best diner in Worcester County, perhaps in the whole state of Massachusetts. However Italian sausage for breakfast - a very welcome bonus. First time going here today and it was absolutely packed. The woman seating people was very nice and it didn't take too long for us to be seated. The waitress was very nice as well and checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything needed. The food was really good, huge portions, well priced. Additionally the food cake out really fast. We had the graham cracker crusted French toast with bananas, cinnamon apple pancakes, and sausage-home fries-toast-eggs. I love the homefries they were yummy! I do wish they had kids meals for breakfast. My four year old received way too much food for him to eat but oh well I'll eat the leftovers later. Had a take out order for lunch and it was ok to average. The Turkey 3D had real bacon which was great but the Turkey meat was the Deli thin sliced version rather than real Turkey meat. The french fries were the frozen type and not real hand cut type. Had a side of their homemade Corned Beef Hash and it was Ok also not great the potatoes were the frozen type out of a bag that were shredded. It was a good but far from being the best like all fresh ingredients made from scratch. Next time I will try a full breakfast and update my review. Everyone working there was friendly and inviting which was nice. Their portion size of everything I saw was very generous and the prices were very reasonable and on par with most Diners in the Worcester Area. read more

1/25/18 my husband picked up a turkey dinner and stuffed peppers for our supper ..they are usually great .This time the turkey dinner was absolutely terrible.... no stuffing lots of dark meat(looked like bark mulch) and very little white meat.I was so looking forward to this and was very dissapointed. I contacted them via Facebook message and then when I got no response sent a comment right to the Facebook page...which they did not choose to print.I think it's sad when a place just ignores a customer when they have a problem.I guess they have so much business they can ignore an unhappy customer....too bad because we just loved the food there up to that point and would have gone back again figuring it was just a one off.Now I feel they just don't care about their customers and don't want our business... read more

Lou Roc's is phenomenal. Their portions are huge and the food is always amazing. This is probably my favorite breakfast spot ever. If you plan to go on a weekend, you should expect to wait a little while to be seated. The longest I've ever had to wait is about 30 minutes (at around 11:30am on a Sunday) but it's always worth it. The portion of homefries is about 3 times the size of other breakfast spots in the area, and their homemade corned beef hash is the best around. On weekends (maybe weekdays too, I'm not entirely sure), they have a list of specials and they all sound so good that I usually have a tough time choosing. I am always completely satisfied with my meal no matter what I order, and I've tried almost everything on the menu. The service is always quick and friendly. I've been eating here for years and I have no complaints, they even extended the dining area a couple years ago to make the wait a little shorter. This place is definitely worth checking out if you find yourself in West Boylston. read more

The best Diner around in the whole Shrewsbury/Worcester area. The staff is really nice, we had a little baby with us and even in that tight space in the restaurant they made us feel welcome, gave us a larger place to sit so we can take care of the baby. The food was out of this world and like other's mentioned, there are long lines on weekend but it didnt take more then 10 min. to get us seated. Came for breakfast on a Sunday. Arrived around 9:30 and there was a little line. We waited for about 15 minutes. If you don't mind sitting at the counter those seats always seemed available. Wait to be served was 25 min. place was full but no waiting line. I remembered Lou Roc's.At the same location since 1959 it has undergone some drastic remodeling over the years. You would never know that a real diner car lurks underneath it all.All that remains visible is the barrel roof in the main area.It's only about a 20 min. ride and on the way I was hoping that they had the homemade hash on the menu.Being a self proclaimed "hash hound",I usually have it if it's available.Some are better than others.Their version is really outstanding!A large helping ,with onions,cooked crispy to my liking and covered with a couple of perfectly cooked poached eggs and with multi-grain toast on the side. Nice. The portions here are really huge! I devoured it in no time. Plenty of good coffee and a friendly chat with the waitress rounded out my experience. I like discovering new places because sometimes you can find a really nice place to add to your list but,I gotta remember to come here more often . I arrived prior to 9am and had the special, biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were dry and dense. The sausage gravy was bland gravy with breakfast sausage links cut up and thrown in. I honestly wish places would stop putting this on the menu if they can't execute. As far as the diners go this is one of the best. The food is really good. But then why 3 stars? The food is really good but heavy, definitely not an everyday breakfast kind of food. But my problem is the environmental impact of this place. The creamers for the coffee are the little plastic packaged single serving creamers, which I use at least 3 per cup. For the coffee they use individually packaged coffee grinds, good for single carafe brewing. For how cocoa they use single serving SwissMiss packages. All of these create a lot of waste created for the convenience of it. I will miss the polish eggs benedict with kielbasa but I won't be going to this place again. I've been dropping in here for breakfast for years, but only on weekends. Today I went for lunch with my ma and it was ridiculous how busy they were. We ended up here because there are so few decent spots to eat on that side of the city, it's a real food wasteland. When I noticed that the lot was jammed and we snagged the only spot left I thought the cars must be for the other businesses in the plaza next door, but that didn't make sense. Never mind my weird thought process. Back to Lou Rocks. We went inside and there were several other parties waiting to be seated. I was tempted to leave, but more curious to see what made this place packed o a Friday at lunch on the outskirts of the city. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally there was a mass exodus of diners, and within minutes everyone who had been waiting was seated! Yay! The waitress was quick, nice, and efficient. She got our drinks order, and when she came back we ordered. I got fish and chips and chose the thin batter [(the other option was thick, which is cool if you're into it, but I'm more about less breading because then I can claim that I'm experimenting with Atkins and be relevant once my time machine's up and running again) you just let me know if I'm abusing my bracket privileges]. Did I mention my son was there? No? Well he was. And he was a LITTLE fussy. What I like about good diners is that people who eat there are generally ok with kids brings a LITTLE fussy. Now I know that that isn't much of a critique of the establishment itself, but you don't want to eat at a place where only mean jerks eat. That's none of the fun. In my experience there are ZERO jerks eating at Lou Rock's, and I'd bet that in general there's probably VERY FEW, and while I'm no expert on the dining habits of jerks, I am an expert on red herrings, so you can TRUST me. The food! In the past when I've gone here the breakfasts were not just BIG, (which lots of diners do) but they were also really good (which only a handful of diners do). Lunch was the same, which totally threw me off, because diners very rarely hold down a solid breakfast AND lunch. In closing, I'm a picky snob who doesn't like a lot but I like Lou Rock's a lot. Oh! I stopped @ Lou Roc's on the recommendation that I found on this site. Lou's is a diner car with an addition on the front. The place was crowded, but I was great quickly by a friendly waitress who found me a seat at the counter. Coffee also came quickly. I ordered a Greek omelette, which needed up being about the size of my head. This three egg omelette was deliciously packed with fresh produce, and accompanied by a pile of home fries and toast. I ended up leaving about half of it on the plate, but only because I was stuffed and unable to eat more. This was my first visit, but I assure you, it won't be my last. read more

Their large portions and inexpensive prices are perfect for a college student like myself. Their chocolate chip pancakes, omelets, and breakfast quesadillas are he best i've ever had.
