Some people say that you can't judge a book by the cover, but I could judge this Restaurant by a simple sample of clam chowder. They serve you samples right outside, but I went ahead and ordered a small bowl, and I was not disappointed.

The service was amazing. We were checked in on a timely manner. Drinks were strong but incredible. I love seafood and got the seafood sauté. Pesto wasn't too strong. The seafood tasted fresh! Great experience.

We ordered the seafood saute, fish & chips, kids mac and cheese, and kids popcorn shrimp. We made a to-go order and they were quick. The seafood was fresh and didn't disappoint! The batter for the fish & chips was perfect and the Mac and cheese was home made and had a unique flavor to it. Prices were surprisingly good. Highly recommend.

The food was good. The hostess was horrible. We had made reservations on Open Table, but, the hostess didn't honor it. Why even take reservations? 45 minutes after our reservations and me about to get very upset with the hostess, we were seated. Our waitress was very good and made up for what the hostess lacked. My wife ordered the Sicilian Seafood linguini, while I ordered the Seafood Saute. I asked my waitress if I could substitute the pesto sauce in the Seafood Saute with a white wine sauce. She said that they could do it for me. My wife and I shared our pastas. We both liked the Seafood Saute in white wine sauce better than the Sicilian Seafood Linguini. It's a good place for Italian seafood. Why take reservations if the hostess won't honor it?

Came to Monterey with my family to get away from the heat! Went to the aquarium first and it was so busy, so I definitely was feeling hungry after all the walking. Plenty of seating and there's stairs and an elevator through the gift shop to get to the restaurant. Staff is friendly and welcoming, great service and constantly checked in with us. I looked this spot up before coming and was excited to try the clam chowder. We ordered a clam chowder + bread bowl (recommended option for garlic top by our great server!! But I forgot her name), regular bowl of chowder, garlic fries and fried mushrooms. Everything was delicious and came out quickly together. My mom liked dipping the fried mushrooms in the clam chowder and that's actually a good combo!! The chowder is on the creamy side which I like. Tasted fresh and had food flavors! The sourdough bread bowl reminded me of a sort of flaky bakery bread and not so much sourdough (which is totally fine for me). I'm sure the bread bowl without the garlic top tastes just as good too. I forsure want to come back and try other dishes like the pasta or steak!

I was starving and this restaurant did the job in satisfying my clam chowder fix! Our server was very nice and our food came quick. The fresh berry mojito was very minty and tasty. And my clam chowder was deliciously filling. The house salad was also very delicious. I love a good spring salad with feta and fruits. My boyfriend found his fish and chips to be quite tasty and love his beer (I think he got the pilsner). Very cute restaurant and wasn't too busy. There was a nice view of the ocean where we were seated.

Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp

We had reservations for 6:30 and were seated promptly, staff was friendly. The ambience was very nice and our table had a view of the ocean. For an appetizer we got the garlic and crab fries with the chipotle sauce. The crab wasn't my favorite but I absolutely loved the chipotle sauce and the garlic was sooo fresh. For the entree I got the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and they gave me a decent amount of shrimp. Everything had good flavor and was cooked well. All the food came out very quickly for a busy Saturday night. This restaurant is a very nice seafood and Italian restaurant, would recommend

Dog menu!

We were looking for a little snack that was dog friendly, and they have a special menu! Bring a jacket, because it can get a little chilly. You might spot an otter or two while snacking and sipping while you're sitting outside! I ordered the artichoke hearts and a glass of red wine. Both were ok :) The view and Monterey vibes are better.

The service was very good and the food came out fast, our servers and the host were amazing. Ambiance alone is 5 stars because the view was incredible today the least! Gotta be real though the food was just whatever. Specifically the crab bruschetta (not pictured), the pizza, and the fries in the basket. I did enjoy the fried seafood it was very good and so were the sauces. I will say that the price was fair for the location. I'd go back for the view alone.

The sampler appetizer was very nice. I highly recommend getting the sampler, it has lots of different flavors and it's perfect. The pasta was good, but the portion was pretty small. There was a lot of pasta but I feel like there wasn't enough meat. The view was nice because it's upstairs. The service was typical. Overall I give it a 3.5.

Not the most romantic spot -- ambiance is ok -- but ask for the balcony. The Fido menu is expansive but basic for the dogs. The linguini was okay, nothing special but the calamari legs were good. Staff was friendly and bathrooms were clean, parking can be a pain but otherwise all is manageable.

Our Signature Dish Cioppino

My husband and I chose Louie Linguini's for a date dinner before heading to a comedy show, and overall it made for a really nice evening. We had a reservation but didn't need it, as it was a slow Monday night. We arrived right at sunset, which turned out to be perfect timing. The restaurant is upstairs with tons of windows overlooking the ocean, and we were seated right by one. Between the view and the soft music playing, the atmosphere felt relaxed and a little romantic. The staff was attentive and helpful, answering questions about the menu and offering suggestions without being pushy. I started with a dirty martini, simple and well made. We shared the Gilroy sourdough garlic bread, which had great flavor and a nice garlic kick. Of course, we had to try the clam chowder as our ongoing search for the best continues. It wasn't bad, but it leaned too creamy and lacked that strong clam flavor we were hoping for. With dinner, we shared a Chianti that paired nicely with our meals. I ordered the special lobster ravioli with a petite salmon, and it was delicious. You never seem to get many raviolis when you order them for dinner, but the addition of the salmon made the dish filling and well balanced. My husband ordered the cioppino special. While everything was cooked well and the seafood was fresh, he felt the broth lacked depth. Outside of the shellfish itself, the base came across a bit bland, almost like plain ocean water. Overall, the views, service, and atmosphere really stood out. While a few dishes could use more flavor, it was still an enjoyable experience and a lovely spot for a date night.

Ask the Community - Louie Linguini's

Is this kid friendly? Do they have highchairs? Can we park strollers?

Yes

Do they accept walk ins?

They do, but with nicer weather here, there are a lot more tourists dining out. We walked in yesterday and had to wait 60 minutes.

Dog friendly on the patio?

Yes! There were multiple dogs when we went. The staircase from the water side leads directly to the patio so no need to walk through the busy restaurant with Fido.

Gusto is one of the few truly scratch-made Italian restaurants that specializes not only in pizza, pasta, and sauces, but also features an old-school brick, wood-fired pizza oven. Hell, they even make their own mozzarella! They have not only caught the eye of locals and Yelpers, but have also managed to earn a recommendation in the current Michelin Guide. The Good: * Private parking lot, as well as street parking. * Fabulous service from Alex! * Prices are very reasonable considering the food quality. * Local beers on tap. * Strawberry Prosciutto Salad (seasonal special) was fantastic! Who knew strawberries paired so perfectly with salty, cured prosciutto and pistachios? This might not be on the menu all the time, but if you see it, get it! * Complimentary focaccia was unbelievably soft and delicious. As if it couldn't get any better, their olive tapenade served alongside it was equally delicious, making for an unbeatable duo. * The Margherita pizza is the ultimate test of a pizza restaurant--and they passed with flying colors! It's so simple that if something isn't right, it'll be easy to spot, but everything from the homemade mozz to the slightly charred crust and the delicious sauce made this the perfect pie. I give it a score of 3.14159265359...! The Meh: * Meatballs were a touch too tough and could've been a bit more tender. They were still fuçking delicious, so honestly, who cares? The Ugly: * Despite the name, Seaside isn't the most glorious place, and this location is downright sus AF. Conclusion: Maybe one of the best meals so far of 2026. If you have any doubts about coming here, relieve yourself of them and get down here posthaste.

Now onto the food (the best part!). The wines we ordered paired so well with all the dishes we had, I got a white and the hubby got a red. For our appetizers we ordered the calamari and steamed clams (must order!) Some of the biggest and freshest clams I've ever tasted. For our entrees we ordered their signature seafood pasta and salmon with linguine. All the seafood was so delicious and the pasta was perfectly al dente. All the seafood here is fresh and comes straight from local fisherman. To wash down all the food, we shared an affogato for dessert. The espresso was so rich and creamy, and the perfect shareable treat since we were pretty full already. Compliments to the chef, way better than any of the italian cuisine we've had here in vegas. you can tell that they are very passionate about their craft. Luckily, they said they could seat us in the patio (as we wanted) but not until 4:15. Fine, we can wait an additional 15 minutes. They did seat us at 4:15 promptly, but honestly could have done so at 4:00 as there were plenty of tables open. In any case, onto the food! This is where this place shines. We split a margherita pizza, which we all agreed was really good; great crust, plenty of cheese and a nice sauce. Most of us ordered the rigatoni with vodka, which was a big hit. One little slip-up was that two of the guests asked to omit the pancetta, but both dishes ended up served with it. Not a problem, both said they could just eat around it. I ordered the cannelloni tricolore which was fantastic. Loved all the sauces and the filling was generous with well-seasoned chicken and veggies. Here's where the service gets props and ensures we would return: our waiter brought us out a dessert to share for the pancetta mix-up. It was such a nice touch and something we all enjoyed. It's those little things that show customers a business cares. Highly recommend this place.
