Lately. this is my "go to" five star, breakfast restaurant - on weekday mornings (more about that later). Great menu, good food, big portions, better than average prices, great service - coffee cup is never more than half empty. A short distance off the touristy areas, but worth the trip. On weekend mornings its popularity cost it a rating star. It gets really busy. Service is rushed, food orders are incomplete and it is difficult to get a server's attention for a remedy. If you can get there during the week - go for it! If you can only only go on weekends, be prepared. read more

Found this amazing place on Yelp after our regular stop was unexpectedly closed (for Sunday breakfast?) and so happy we did. Got the Country Benedict which is sausage on a biscuit topped with two eggs (how you want them) and smothered in country gravy with potatoes. OMG! Heaven! My husband had the huevos rancheros which was covered in the most flavorful homemade salsa. Yum! My friend got the breakfast burrito which was overfilled and drowned in cheese. To top it all off we ordered a side of tamale (made by our server, Manuel's, mom-in-law) and chili relleno. One was more delicioso than the next! Service here was great, I need to stop in and try the pozole on the weekend based on how good the House Skillet was. Serving was too much to eat but I did take the muffin for checking in home with me. It's a nice little place with a huge menu, there actually might be too many choices. I've been on the hunt for a more casual restaurant for a good breakfast at a fair price and this is everything I was looking for. Arrived around 9:30am on Saturday and were able to seat ourselves, though the place was hopping within the half hour. Large selection of breakfast food, though I was immediately drawn to the Golden Benedict: beans and chorizo atop an English muffin smothered in green chili and top with two eggs, cheddar cheese, and avocado. Huge portion for only $9! Quality of the food was excellent as well, my friend and I ordered this dish and both enjoyed it. Coffee is good as well, friend enjoyed her latte. The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive while handling a large breakfast rush. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're like me, need a change from the typical Denver brunch scene, and are looking for a hearty meal at a good price. read more

The staff is also very friendly and they always provide great service which makes this place an absolute gem! Just passing through, up before teens I Coach and stopped in here based in the reviews. I wasn't disappointed at all, the cafe met every expectation. Easy to find, clean, open and inviting at 745 am on holiday Monday I was all alone for the first 15 minutes. The coffee was good, service gast and courteous. Being from rural Maine, I try to eat dishes I'd not likely be able to order at home so the Mexican Skillet fit. Chorizo, jalapeños, eggs, hash browns that were crispy on the bottom and green chile. Absolutely delicious. I was surprised too as a big fella, the portion was too big for me to finish. Coffee and water refilled before I needed it. The food was great as always, it took some time to come but that was alright since they were short staffed. Our waitress ordered our drinks then literally forgot we were even there and gave us our drinks like fifteen minutes later when she realized we were here. The waitress also wasn't properly wearing her mask, and sat down right next to my elderly great aunt since the waitress who we'll call W for waitress was "tired." She also wasn't wearing a mask when she sat next to my aunt. My grandmother was sitting across from W. W was our waitress, not wearing her mask over her mouth and nose, and even forgot we were there. The syrup we got was dripping everywhere from her carelessness. Also I personally watched when a worker was cleaning the table we sat at, and he didn't even sanitize/disinfect the table or booth. P.S Our waitress Lisa also sat down with three gentlemen who didn't have their mask on and started chatting, one of these men appeared to be in his sixties. Louis' Cafe is a good restaurant and the prices are good. Their Mexican food is very good, but if you want the breakfast tamales on a weekend, get there early, because they do run out. The place is clean. The wait staff are slow to bring additional napkins, condiments or drink/coffee refills. By then the food is getting cold. We sat down for a nice breakfast and it was obvious the place was busy. They set up tables outside due to COVID and then completely forgot about us. Another table (who was obvious a return table) ordered and had their food delivered before we were even talked to. After 25 minutes, someone finally came and took our order. After 15 more minutes, the food came out all wrong. We requested the corrections to our food and again another 10 minutes passed. We had to request refills for coffee, condiments, etc. one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had in awhile. read more

I have come here multiple times and every time I come here it's delicious! Definitely some of the best breakfast you can find in Golden. Also there prices aren't over exorbited like IHOP or other chain breakfast places. The biscuits are a bit dry and the country gravy is a little chalky. The sausage in the gravy is weird. It tastes like it was canned or something along those lines. They were also out of Tabasco. Add another satisfied customer to the tally. I spent most of last year in El Paso, Texas, surviving on some of the best Mexican food in the USA. This place has green chili that rivals EP. My breakfast was extremely satisfying, the place is clean, and service was overwhelming. A final note: it is refreshing to see a place using real eggs in their recipes vs the "egg product in a carton" that has become the norm. I will be a regular here when I'm in the area. read more

This was amazing! We were on our way down from Blackhawk and wanted a quick good breakfast pace. Louis' has a decent amount of positive reviews and caught my eye. Well worth it! I had the special - chili rellenos with eggs. Perfect amount of spice with beans, eggs (cooked exactly to my specifications), and yummy potatoes. Loved it! If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. 29 minutes waiting for food that never came- with a baby. I asked 3 people to check on my order. The server snapped at me. I picked up my things and left.
